57, Yarong

Seeing Xu Shu sitting on the boat gradually disappearing in front of her, Deng Yarong was in a good mood and led a group of ladies to pick lotus flowers in the lotus swaying. She was having a very uncomfortable time. Just as she was excited, a small boat suddenly approached her boat. The maid on the boat whispered to her a few words. Two red clouds suddenly appeared on Deng Yarong's face, and hurriedly urged her boatwoman to follow the boat.

Deng Yarong felt extremely excited along the way, and didn't pay attention to where the maid led her to take her.

"Miss Fifth, please come in!" The maid pushed open the faintly hidden door.

Deng Yarong took off her hairpin, took a deep breath and stepped in, but her maid was stopped. Seeing this, Deng Yarong whispered, "You are waiting for me outside!"

The maid closed the door, and Deng Yarong walked all the way to the main room. A vague figure faintly behind the gauze curtain that was shaking lightly in the wind. Deng Yarong happily called "Fourth Cousin" and pushed the door open and went in!

When he saw the person in the room, the shyness on Deng Yarong's face disappeared, replaced by embarrassment and panic, "Uncle... Aunt!"

Wan said "um" and didn't ask Deng Yarong to sit down. Deng Yarong stood in the hall awkwardly, feeling uncomfortable all over, and asked carefully, "Is there anything wrong with my aunt calling my niece?"

"Where has Xu Shu been?" Wan asked straight to the point.

"Miss Xu... Miss Jiu?" Deng Yarong began to feel uneasy and pretended to be calm, "I invited her to visit the lake together, but she walked too slowly. Others were unwilling to wait for her, so we went first, and never saw her again! What's wrong, Miss Xu Jiu is gone?"

Wan nodded, "Mrs. Xu came to me just now and said Miss Xu Jiu was gone. Miss Xu Jiu's girl said you took the person away!"

Deng Yarong argued, "We were walking together at that time, but we separated later. If my aunt didn't believe it, she could ask the other ladies who traveled to the lake with her niece. I've been with them all the time!"

"You still want to show off such a shameful thing?" Wan sneered, "Since I'm asking you, I've confirmed that you have hidden the person!"

Deng Yarong thought about it and was sure that he had not left any handle, so he gritted his teeth and refused to admit it, "I don't know what my aunt is saying! Miss Xu Jiu can't see her. It's reasonable to get lost. Why do you say that I hid the person? This is not my home, and so a big living person can be hidden by me?"

"Okay! Very good!" Wan slapped the table heavily, obviously furious, "I don't have a daughter. I have loved you as my biological daughter since I was a child. I have been with people and physical evidence, but you still want to lie to me. Do you want me to tell this to the old lady?"

Personal witness? Thinking of the boat girl who was bribed by herself, Deng Yarong had an ominous premonition in her heart. She couldn't help but lose her momentum and called out softly, "Auntie..."

Wan was unmoved, "The boat girl who took your money choked on the water. Her life and death are uncertain now. If I hadn't found a silver ingot with the Deng family mark on her, I wouldn't have someone call you, but you pushed Liu25 here to pretend to be stupid!"

The boatwoman choked on the water, what about Xu Shu? Did something go wrong? Deng Yarong didn't dare to think about it anymore, and even dared not look directly at Wan's eyes.

Thinking that the Xu family was still waiting for news, Wan felt inexplicably irritable and his tone was very impatient, "If you still don't tell the truth, then I can only invite the old lady. Let's see if you will be able to do it!"

Deng Yarong knew that Deng loved her, so she was not afraid. Instead, she bit her lip and asked in a soft voice, "Why did my aunt say that it was my fourth cousin who saw me..."

"If it weren't for the name of Tori Ge'er, would you come here willingly? I'm afraid you'd have been hiding in the old lady's place!"

Wanshi could be said to have touched Deng Yarong's thoughts thoroughly. Deng Yarong had nothing to say after hearing this, lowering her head, blushing her face, and speechless.

At this moment, Wanshi had no intention of caring about her niece's friendship with her younger son, for fear that Xu Shu would have a good relationship with the Qi family, so the Xu family would be more and more pestering the Qi family.

"Where are people? Where did you get people?" Wan asked, his patience had already been exhausted.

Deng Yarong suddenly rushed over and knelt at Wan's feet, "I don't know either. I just asked someone to send her to the isolated island in the lake, scaring her. As for how the boat girl fell into the water, I really don't know! Maybe... Maybe the boat was blown over by the wind..."

The boat was blown over by the wind, and the boatwoman who knew the water was choked for half of his life. Xu Shu...

Wan's face suddenly changed, "Come on, hurry up and go to the place where the boat girl fell into the water to see if there is anything abnormal!" Finally, he whispered, "Be sure to act carefully, don't disturb the people of the Xu family!"

Deng Yarong and Wan thought of going together, and they were so scared that they trembled. They called Wan pitifully, "Auntie..."

Wan stared at Deng Yarong fiercely, "You'd better bless Xu Shu, it's okay, otherwise no matter how much you think about Brother Rui, it will be useless!"

If Xu Shu dies, she will never be able to get rid of the marriage to the Xu family! Xu family! Why is it like a dog-skin plaster? It just can't get rid of it! Wan Shi spat in her heart with hatred!

Deng Yarong choked, and couldn't even say anything frightened by Wan's stern tone, and tears filled his eyes. He heard Wan's explanation, "Just stay here honestly, I'm not allowed to go anywhere before I come back!" Deng Yarong nodded blankly, watching Wan's rush away, and did not forget to leave two girls watching her, and felt uncomfortable again.

Deng Yarong has been not close to this strict aunt since childhood. However, because he had some thoughts about Qi Rui, he began to get close to Wan. Just looking at Wan's attitude today, Deng Yarong was afraid that if something happened to Xu Shu, he was angry with Wan, and subconsciously wanted to seek the protection of the old lady.

Wan hurriedly dared to go to the lakeside, and someone was already holding a boat to salvage the lake. After a while, the boat leaned against the shore. "Madam, there was nothing in the lake, so I found the boat. The movement of the bottom of the boat was blocked and it was sunk!"

Wan looked at the boat, then looked at the isolated island that was small in the distance, which was only the size of his fingertips, and his brows frowned even deeper, "You all go down, don't make any noise today! If you leak a word, don't blame me for being merciless!"

Everyone nodded and said yes, Wan waved his hand to put away the extra idle people, leaving only his confidant, "Where is the Fourth Young Master now?"

The maid replied, "According to your instructions, Madam, the Fourth Young Master has been following the Master!"

Wan nodded and asked again, "Where is the eldest master?"

The maid curled her lips and said, "Mr. Xu Qi was lost in the garden when the afternoon was over. After the eldest son helped find him, he has been with Mr. Xu Qi!"

Wan was slightly stunned and said for a while, "Come and ask the eldest young master to come over quietly. I have something to tell him!"
