Gen Bi Hui: Reflections in Tangyang, Taking Care of the Thatched Cottage

She sat on the back of the horse and felt nervous. She knew how nervous and fearful she was in her heart when she rode a horse for the first time in her life.

But the person sitting behind her stretched out a pair of powerful hands to help him hold the reins tightly, and still whispered in his ear: "Don't be afraid, you must calm your heart first before the horse will listen to your control..."

Trying to do what he said, but unexpectedly, Ma Zhen slowly moved forward after listening to her words. She turned her head excitedly and smiled at the man behind her, "It's true! Brother Yuan Xi..."

But when she turned her head, she found that there was no one behind her, only she sat alone on the horse's back...

"Brother Yuan Xi!"

She suddenly opened her eyes, and with a sweaty face, she found that what appeared in front of her was the beam on the top of the house. When she turned her head, she saw the worried Sima Yi.

At this time, Zhang Chunhua realized that what he had dreamed was illusory, but Yuan Xi was dead was an irreversible fact. Thinking of this, she threw herself into Sima Yi's arms and cried bitterly. Sima Yi was able to understand how sad she was at this time. He slowly stretched out his hand and patted Zhang Chunhua's back and comforted her softly:

"It's all over... People cannot be resurrected by death, we should all look forward..."

After a long sob, although Zhang Chunhua could not completely calm down his sadness and pain, under Sima Yi's careful comfort, he always felt a little relieved and his crying gradually stopped.

Sima Yi reached out and gently wiped away the tears on her face and said with a smile:

"Don't worry, silly girl. We have arrived in Tangyang safely now. I will take you to see your brother soon."

"Brother?"

Zhang Chunhua felt that this title sounded very familiar. It seemed that she often heard Sima Yi mention it before, but before she could fully think of who this "brother" was, the rapid footsteps in the corridor had quickly reached the door.

The two of them looked in the voice and Sima Lang had already appeared at the door.

At the beginning, Sima Yi did not have time to introduce it. After all, Sima Lang and Zhang Chunhua had not met for more than ten years. Zhang Chunhua had already grown from a five-year-old girl to a young girl of seventeen or eighteen years old.

But Sima Lang still recognized her based on his feelings: "Chunhua... It's great that you are safe and sound..."

Because Sima Lang was too excited when he saw Zhang Chunhua, his voice seemed sobbing that he could not say anything afterwards. He could only stand there and lower his head and silently wipe the tears at the corners of his eyes.

Originally, Zhang Chunhua only remembered some of the memories of Sima Yi, but when he saw the man in his thirties in front of him, he didn't know why he felt an extra intimate feeling deep in his heart.

After closer inspection, she felt that this person was very familiar to her before. Finally, she recalled the man who was ill and took care of her when she was sick, the man who was still caring for her despite being seriously ill, the elder brother who raised her as her own sister: Sima Lang...

As the memory fragments continued to deepen, Zhang Chunhua couldn't help but lift the sheet on his body, walked out of the bed quietly and slowly moved to Sima Lang, then stretched out his hand and held Sima Lang's arm tightly. The tears that had just stopped for a while could not stop flowing down again: "Are you... Are you Boda Brother?"

Now Sima Lang's tears couldn't stop flowing. He stretched out his palm and gently stroked Zhang Chunhua's head as usual: "You have grown up... you have become a great beauty..."

Zhang Chunhua seemed very happy. She held Sima Lang's arm and said excitedly to Sima Yi:

"Brother Zhongda! I am so happy. I didn't expect that there are so many people around me who care about me and love me!"

Seeing this, Sima Yi was very happy to have fulfilled his thoughts and Sima Lang for many years.

That night, Sima Lang and Zhang Chunhua chatted all night. In the content of the conversation, Sima Lang learned about Zhang Chunhua’s experience over the past ten years. He sighed: “Oh… I really didn’t expect that you have brought most of Hebei over the years and have a connection with the Yuan family. Now that I see you returning to this home safely, Zhongda and I are finally relieved..."

When Zhang Chunhua and Sima Lang had a deep lovesickness, Sima Yi discovered Sima Fu lying on the bed while passing by the corridor.

When he saw him in the crack in the door for the first time, Sima Yi wondered if he had read it wrong, but he soon realized that there was nothing wrong with his eyes, so he quickly pushed open the door and walked into the house.

Sima Fu, who was lying on the bed, had his life hanged at the thread because he was stabbed by Guo Pei before. Fortunately, Hua Tuo and his disciples passed by Tangyang. When Sima Lang learned about it, he came to seek medical treatment in person regardless of his weak body. Hua Tuo was moved by him and sent Yang Mai to treat Sima Fu. Under his superb medical treatment, although Sima Fu was out of danger of life, he still had to rest for many days before he could recover.

After that, Sima Fang and Hu Zhao came to visit his condition many times, but Sima Lang seemed to see more than just the simple emotions of worrying about his son from his father's eyes.

He also asked Sima Fang about this, but after being severely scolded by him, he stopped mentioning it.

Until Sima Yi and Zhang Chunhua met Sima Lang again, Sima Fu showed no sign of awakening.

Because he was back for a short time and everyone's focus was on Zhang Chunhua's return, Sima Lang did not have time to tell Sima Yi about Sima Fu. If he hadn't seen it by chance, he might still be kept in the dark.

Sima Yi, who sat next to the bed, thought his younger brother was asleep, so he stretched out his hand and pushed Sima Fu's shoulder as usual to wake him up: "Boy... your second brother didn't even pay me a favor when he came back, and he was still sleeping hard here?"

Just as his hand was about to touch Sima Fu's shoulder, he suddenly reached out from behind and grabbed his wrist. When Sima Yi turned around, he realized that Sima Lang was standing behind him.

He was startled and sighed: "Aren't you chatting with Chunhua? Why are you here?"

Sima Lang looked at Sima Fu who was still unconscious. He sat down with a serious expression and stretched out his hand to pull the collar of Sima Fu's chest. The scene that caught Sima Yi's eyes scared him and asked quickly:

"What the hell is going on? Wasn't you doing well when you replied before?"

The subconscious reaction made Sima Yi think of those who had been wronged in his own plot and had not officially appeared yet. He wondered if his younger brother was implicated and would have encountered an unexpected accident. However, in order not to make Sima Lang worry that he did not say it out.

"Did my father and Mr. Kong Ming send him back?"

Sima Lang sighed, then gently pulled Sima Fu's clothes:

"My brothers really make me worry-free, so do you, so do Shuda..."

After hearing what Sima Lang said, who had always been worried about himself, Sima Yi seemed ashamed:

"Brother, I know that you are worried a lot because of your willful behavior, but Shuda..."

"I know what you are asking." Sima Lang interrupted him for a rare moment:

"I asked my father about this question at the beginning, but he didn't tell me that since he didn't want me to know, I'm afraid Shuda's injury is not as simple as the accident they said, I'm really confused about what my father is thinking..."

When talking about Sima Fang, Sima Yi also felt a slight abnormality:

Looking back on what he and Sima Lang said before, as well as the sudden appearance in the Yingchuan bamboo forest, and the fact that Sima Fu was injured this time, he and Hu Zhao were present at the same time. All of this made him feel too unnatural...

Since returning to Xinye, Xu Shu hurried to Liu Bei's office to report the results of this time.

After listening to Xu Shu's description, Liu Bei nodded:

"When I visited Mr. Shui Jing, he said to me that 'Wolong and Phoenix Chicken's will be able to live in peace'. Now Pang Tong has defected to the command of Zhou Yu of the Eastern Wu. I wanted to rely on Yuan Zhi's friendship with this 'Wolong' to invite him to work together for major events, but I didn't expect that this gentleman was so extraordinary. It seems that I really have to go to Longzhong in person..."

Xu Shu fully agreed with Liu Bei's idea: "The lord is wise and Zhuge Kongming is arrogant and proud. If you ask for advice in person, you will give him enough face and will definitely let him come out to serve you."

Just as Liu Bei and Xu Shu discussed the right time to visit Zhuge Liang, Wei Yan was already standing outside the door:

"You are the lord, the last one is back."

Apart from Wei Yan himself, Liu Bei and Xu Shu did not see any figure, which made Liu Bei feel badly in his heart. He asked Wei Yan tentatively: "Wen Chang? Why are you the only one? Wen Zhi?"

The three questions in just one sentence made the atmosphere particularly suffocating. Xu Shu, who was standing next to him, could clearly feel the anger that Liu Bei was about to burst out, and he couldn't help but start to worry about Wei Yan.

Wei Yan, who always lowered his head, told Liu Bei the truth about the truth:

"I will follow your instructions to assassinate Chen Qun, but I was not going to be stopped by Hu Zhao and Guo Jia. Afterwards, I planned to take Zhou Buyi to Liaodong to lobby Tian Yu as planned. However, Zhou Buyi insisted on attracting Cao Cao's attention to him, so I did not hesitate to expose himself by playing chess with Sima Yi. Now he has been retained by Cao Cao."

The veins on both sides of Liu Bei's forehead gradually rose, and as Wei Yan's description of the process gradually disappeared, his anger was gradually fading away, especially when he learned from Wei Yan that Sima Yi was in Hebei at this time, he seemed to understand Zhou Buyi's purpose.

Liu Bei wanted to blame Wei Yan, but at this moment, not only did he lose his anger but smiled. He stepped forward and helped Wei Yan up:

"I already know the whole story. Wen Chang, you have worked hard all the way. Go back and rest soon."

Wei Yan, who was nervous, still couldn't calm down after receiving Liu Bei's forgiveness, which made him feel a huge impact on his mentality of being punished and being punished, and he was a little uncomfortable.

After Wei Yan left, Xu Shu expressed his great concerns:

"Lord, now Wen Zhi and Sima Yi are in Hebei, and they are also exposed to Cao Cao at the same time. I'm worried..."

Liu Bei reached out to stop Xu Shu's next words:

"What I worry about is that the two of them will fall into the hands of our 'Your Highness', and it is still a blessing in Cao Cao's place. Rather than saying that danger is just like my thoughts. It is always beneficial to let them have more contact."

Due to the urgent crisis, Liu Bei, accompanied by Xu Shu, visited Zhuge Liang in a confidential manner for the first time. Before leaving, he fasted and bathed, and personally went to the thatched cottage where Zhuge Liang lived in Longzhong with extremely high visit specifications.

Every time he went, Xu Shu would introduce to Liu Bei the irrigation facilities created by Zhuge Liang and his wife for the villagers, as well as the "wooden cows" that made Liu Bei constantly amazing: they were made of wood as the base material, and without human power, they could actually carry cargo on the mountain road in groups of three or three without human push. This is really incredible.

These rare affairs in the world have gradually deepened Liu Bei's curiosity and deep interest in Zhuge Kongming.

After several twists and turns, Xu Shu and Zhuge Liang came to Zhuge Liang's thatched cottage. Xu Shu gently patted the fence door as usual, and then called softly inside the door: "Mr. Kong Ming, Xu Shu came here to visit."

Responding to Xu Shu and Liu Bei, there was a long silence. Xu Shu felt a little embarrassed when he saw this scene. He turned around and looked at Liu Bei with a very guilty look. Liu Bei not only did not have any annoyance but seemed very patient:

"Let's wait a little longer..."

But after a long time, there was still no movement. Xu Shu finally confirmed that Zhuge Liang was not at home. He had to return to Liu Bei and said to Liu Bei on the horse:

"Lord, I'm afraid Mr. Kongming is not at home at this time. It's because he didn't know him in advance that he would have made you a waste of time."

Liu Bei smiled, bent down and reached out to pat Xu Shu on the shoulder:

"Yuan Zhi doesn't have to mind. It seems that my fate with Mr. Kongming has not yet arrived. Since that's the case, I will leave a letter and stuff it into the crack of the fence door. I think Mr. Kongming will know that we have been here after he comes back."

After leaving a letter, he went back to the house with Xu Shu. Before leaving, he glanced at the thatched cottage hidden deep in the shade of the trees...

After Liu Bei and Xu Shu walked away, a boy walked out of the courtyard.

He came to the fence door and saw that the people outside had already left. When he lowered his head, he found a letter in the crack of the door. So he took it off and returned to the curtain under the house, bowed and whispered to the house:

"Second sister-in-law, they have left, but they have left a letter..."

A beautiful and magnetic voice came from the depths of the door curtain:
