259. Xinfeng Market

Lin Wulang and others followed the Dingda Express delivery team and walked smoothly and steadily along the way.

They first went from Lishi to Xicheng. The people who came with them from Dingda Express were not leaving after arriving in Xicheng. They asked the people in Xicheng to inspect the goods. The two sides handed over the goods. They rested in Xicheng for one night. The next day, they transported a batch of goods from Xicheng and went back to Dinghu County.

Lin Wulang and the others followed the people from Xicheng to the south. This time they did not take the dry road again, but took the cargo ship rented by the Dingda Express, and went down the Fen River and soon arrived in Linfen.

From Linfen to the south, they changed to the dry road. This cement road was built flat and open. Lin Wulang and the others had donkey carts. Several people took turns to sit. The journey was not hard.

But Mai Qing Doulier, the two big dogs, seemed a little uneasy. Since they were taken back by the Luo family to raise, they have been living in the Luo family yard in Xipo Village. Even if Luo Yong and the others left later, the two big dogs were still staying in the yard every day, waiting for the return of their owners.

This time, Lin Wulang suddenly wanted to take them out. The two big dogs were very resistant. They didn't know how many times they had made a fuss along the way. They wanted to turn around and run back when they got the opportunity. Fortunately, Lin Wulang and Apu were both careful. If they were someone else, maybe they would be asked to run away if they were not careful.

Life was passing day by day, and their group was walking day by day. Lin Wulang originally thought that as long as he looked at these two big dogs, Apu and the others would not make any mistakes, and there would be nothing else.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I passed Jiangzhou, heavy snow fell from the sky, and large pieces of snow fell on the ground, and soon a thick layer of snow was covered with snow on the ground.

There is also snow on the cement road, and people trampled on horses and collapsed. The snowflakes turned into snow water and then turned into ice, causing many inconveniences to merchants and pedestrians on the road.

Lin Wulang and his other donkey cart were a large cart with wide sides. It was difficult to travel in such weather, and the two big dogs had to cause trouble from time to time. It was rare that Lin Wulang was not angry with the two big dogs at once.

Speaking of which, he could even tolerate Lin Chunqiu, what was this matter?

The atmosphere of the Lin family has become worse and worse in the past two years. Lin Dalang and Lin Erlang and Lin Chunqiu are becoming increasingly inconsistent with each other. Lin Dasan relied on her birth to three grandchildren for the Lin family. Now she is tough at home. Lin Ersan works in the Xu family's guest house, and only her and Lin Chunqiu's wife are left at home. The work in and outside the courtyard was done well. In the past, the daughter-in-law at home did not have any big disputes. Now they are going to make trouble every now and then.

After coming out of that house, Lin Wulang felt refreshed. Even when he was walking in such heavy snowy weather, he didn't think anything was wrong. He felt very happy when he thought of seeing Aunt Luo soon.

"Wool! Wool!"

"Why did you scream again?"

"It's not easy to take these two dogs out."

"Lin Wuro is a good guy."

"Goro, what's wrong with these two dogs?"

"It's okay, I just feel a little uneasy, so I'll be fine when I'm coaxing you."

"Woo...Woo..."

Mai Qing Doulier didn't know where these people were going to take them. After walking for a while, they would feel uneasy and fearful. Sometimes they would be more irritable. They would be reluctant to be comforted by Lin Wulang and the others. After walking for another while, they would feel uneasy again.

After three or four days of this, when the group walked to Anyi, Puzhou, they met a group of villagers who were pushing carts. There were baskets of persimmons on their carts.

The persimmons are big, quite red, and look good, but they are not yet soft and hard. They are all hard. They are frozen by the wind and snow.

"Brother-in-law, where are you persimmons going?"

The two black men with Apu were both talking. At this time, seeing these people pushing so many persimmons out on the snowy day, I was curious and talked to them.

The villagers saw that these two people looked so black, with their mouths and teeth so white, and they were so fluent when they talked about Chineseization. They all found it very interesting and were willing to talk to them.

"It's just to push it to Chang'an City."

"I heard that in Chang'an City, three persimmons are sold for one cent. We can buy more than a dozen per cent here, so someone may not necessarily want them."

"The crops in the vertical and horizontal fields have been harvested, and they are idle at home."

"You see, this road is so wide and flat, and it's not very difficult to push the car on it."

"Chang'an City is far away." said a black man.

"I'm so afraid, it's only a few days away." The villagers laughed indifferently.

They were wearing cloth straw sandals and pushed the car forward in the wind and snow, stepping on the snowy road one by one, and the persimmons on the car were numerous and heavy.

"It's too difficult," sighed a black man.

Since they fought to the Tang Dynasty, they have been working for Luo Yong. Although they have worked hard, they always have no worries about food and clothing. Now they are wearing cotton jackets and leather boots.

Although the cotton is not silk cotton, but kapok, and leather boots are only covered with a thin layer of rubber soles at the bottom of the soles. However, compared with these villagers, it is much better.

"You big black guy, don't know how easy it is to make money?"

"Where did you call me?"

"We come from Lishi."

"Li Shi, no wonder, I heard that there is quite wealthy there."

"No one knows that Li Shi has produced a Luo Sanlang."

"Hey, our village had received the threshing machine he sent earlier."

“Then the threshing machine is really easy to use.”

As the group of people were talking, they saw a long slope in front of them. The people from Dingda Express used livestock to pull the carts. At this time, as long as one or two people pushed and pushed each car, it would not be a problem.

It was difficult for the villagers who sold persimmons to push the persimmons across this long slope. I don’t know how much effort it would take.

The Dingda Express traveled quickly, and those people walked slowly, and the two groups quickly separated.

The more you move forward, the more people you meet in the village, most of them transport persimmons, pears, dates and other things. They have to go to Puzhou, Tongguan, Chang'an and other places to sell them. Some people also sell food, but not many of them.

There were many people along the way, with better conditions, and some people used cattle, horses, donkeys to pull carts. Those with worse conditions had to rely on manpower to pull carts.

With so many people and so many goods, it’s a blessing to build the cement road spacious enough when the road was first built, otherwise it would have been blocked in the past few days.

Lin Wulang followed Dingda Express to deliver the people. Whenever the line arrived at the place where the toll was collected, a large number of villagers were stranded...

In Chang'an City, there has been a response to this situation.

On the one hand, the saint asked someone to set up a market in a place called Xinfeng to the east of Chang'an City, and on the other hand, he asked someone to send the latest imperial documents to various stations around Chang'an City.

This official document stipulates that in the two months of October and November, all villagers who enter the city to sell goods will be exempted from tolls.

Xinfeng is not very close to Chang'an City. It takes a whole day to drive a donkey cart to get back and forth.

However, the agricultural products in the market there are large quantities and high prices, and many vendors in Chang'an City are still willing to go to their place to buy goods, especially those who run food shops.

Aunt Luo has also been there in the past two days. When she came back, she hired someone to push back several trucks of dried dates from there, and even sent a truck of frozen pears and persimmons to Luo Yong and them.

These frozen pears and persimmons are quite large. I heard that at Xinfeng Market, you can buy four or five large persimmons for a penny. There are also many persimmon cakes sold by Luo Yong, one of their neighbors, went there to buy some persimmon cakes the day before yesterday.

There are also frozen pears, and the price of frozen pears has risen a little in the past few days.

Pears are not hungry. When the weather is not good, ordinary people will basically not spend money to buy them. The pears used to make frozen pears have thick skin and little flesh. In the past, they were not valuable at all. Recently, they have become more and more expensive. I wonder if it has anything to do with the many peppers sold in groceries in the north and south this year.

The two best dishes sold in Chang'an City are boiled meat slices and boiled fish fillets. In the cold weather, I went to the recipe to order boiled fish, warmed it with charcoal fire, and then a pot of turbid wine to drink and eat vegetables. It was not enough.

The food was a little hot. If you listen to someone selling frozen pears outside the street, you would buy two or three cents to come in, ask the guy to bring a basin of water, put the frozen pears in clean water to suffocate. If you are thirsty, you would take one to eat. The pear juice is sweet and refreshing, quenching thirst and greasy.

"Frozen pears! Frozen pears!"

"How much does this frozen pear cost per cent?"

“Eight.”

"Didn't you still sell ten of them two days ago?"

"Now, there are no more ten people selling them, eight are the most."

"That's a penny."

“…”

This winter seems to be colder than in previous years, and it snows earlier. However, it is precisely because of this that the persimmons and pears picked by the villagers can be stored and transported from quite far away, and they are not afraid of them getting broken.
