Page 206 [The Immortal Land]
Nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine steps.
The highest point of the world, where God lives.
The wind and snow suddenly stopped, and the whole world stopped at that moment.
The vast sea of clouds floated around the mountain peaks and dared not exceed a single trace. The sky was the purest blue, with no falling snow or dimness, and it was as clean as the sky outlined on the best painter's drawing board.
There is neither rich nor dim light that sprinkles from the sky, all over the sky, warm and peaceful, falling on every inch of land like the source of inexhaustible light.
The ground was covered with cold ice and snow, and countless tall and strong ice. They rose from the ground, standing on both sides of the mountain in a regular and neat manner, like a group of the most loyal guards, setting out a long and solemn road to the god-faced god.
Light sprinkles on the flat and sharp surfaces of the cold and ice, reflecting the solemn and cold cold light.
The cold light surged from all directions, showing a magnificent and silent sacredness.
Chen Senran narrowed his eyes slightly so that he could adapt to the light of this quiet world faster. He looked ahead and saw that Karthas, who had arrived first, was standing at the intersection of that road without stepping.
"It's really surprising." Chen Senran covered the forehead for the little Annie who was drilling out, and hurt the girl's eyes with the strong and violent cold light.
"It is indeed a miraculous existence." Karthas did not turn around. He nodded, his tone filled with admiration.
This is indeed a place worthy of admiration. It can actually isolate everything outside, including wind, snow, sky light, and sound, which exists quietly like another world.
The sun is scattered and the ice and snow are quiet, as if it has lasted forever.
Immortal or dirty.
It is truly a place where God lives.
"This is actually the rule." Karthas seemed to be focused on the ice lined with swords. He looked at it for a long time and finally said.
"Rules?" Chen Senran frowned. It was the rule again. Karthas didn't want to say it before, but at this moment he seemed to want to say something.
"Yes." Karthas began to rub his old scepter again, "I didn't want to say it before, because the rules are too profound, as empty as flowers and moon, and you don't understand it when you talk about it. But here, it happens to be a very high display of the rules. It seems that the immortal bird really can predict the existence of the world in destruction."
After hearing what he said, it seemed that he had just come here with a try-and-see attitude, but now he has some firm thoughts.
"What is the extreme display of rules?" Although Chen Senran had been spending time in the Obsidian Library before, the books there were at most explaining the use of power, and there was almost no record of such things that were almost like the way of heaven.
So when Karthas told him about such purely theoretical things, he was really a little confused.
"Simply put, this place is completely free from the constraints of this plane rule." Karlsas's hand was rubbing, probably thinking about the wording, "For example, a piece of snow falls, with your ability, it can prevent it from falling on you, but here, the snow can quickly evaporate into water vapor. This is the difference between controlling the rules and touching the rules."
"So, I have touched the so-called rules?" Chen Senran suddenly remembered the water flowing world when he closed his eyes.
"Strictly speaking, you are not yet. At most, you just feel the rules, because you can't drive the falling snow, it can only affect it." Karthas shook his head, "You are just passively feeling the world, otherwise, when you are at the foot of the mountain, you will not be hurt by those low-level spiritual groups."
Chen Senran nodded thoughtfully. He stroked the little girl's little head, which was curiously circling around, and asked the last question: "So, where have you reached?"
"I..." Karthas paused for a long time, and finally smiled with a little self-deprecating smile, "I don't know either."
This is a very perfunctory answer, but Chen Senran did not intend to pursue it. Everyone has their own secrets. Maybe Karthas didn't want to say it, or maybe he really didn't know it.
"Stingy." The little girl made a cute face at Kalsas's back, which made Chen Senran laugh, and immediately dispersed some of the originally strong murderous atmosphere of this place.
"Let's go." Karthas didn't care about the little girl's ridicule. He seemed to be laughing as well. After a while, he finally set foot on the final road.
This is a very long road. I don’t know if it is because of the skylight or the top of the mountain is really that big. In short, you can’t see the end of the road from the intersection.
At the end of the road, there is only a vague and hazy cold light, like a mass of chaos that breeds something.
The chaos made Chen Senran think of the power of void in his body at the first time, but the chaos was completely dark, devouring all the darkness.
There was no wind on the top of the mountain, and the whole world was quiet and the sound of footsteps was left.
When Chen Senran and the others walked about a moment of magic, the road seemed to finally come to an end.
But the chaos still did not retreat. Instead, because the distance shortened, it became more and more intense, making people feel that something was clearly in front of you but couldn't see clearly no matter how hard you tried.
It was like a layer of yarn was covered in eyes.
Just as Chen Senran was about to say something, the little Annie in her arms trembled for no reason, and the little face, which was slightly blood-colored, was pale as if it was covered with frost.
The little girl trembled and almost murmured: "Leng..."
Cold? Chen Senran frowned. How could it be cold? There was no storm and snow in this place, but it was actually considered warm. While hugging the little girl tightly, he kept sizzling her, he looked at Karthas and said in confusion: "What's going on?"
Karthas also stopped, looked at the sick little loli strangely, and said in an incredible tone: "Can it be..."
Before she could tell anything, the little girl had already pulled Chen Senran's sleeves almost sobbing and said, "Xiao Sensen, can we go well? If we go further, we will be frozen to death." She said, while looking at the evaporated haze in great fear, as if she was looking at the most terrifying monster.
"It's really surprising." Karthas looked at the frightened little girl and let out a long sigh, with a little surprised and a little jealous.
Just when Chen Senran was confused.
An extreme cold climbed up his spine.
