Chapter 62 Carter and Maddie

Although the Raptors' interior combination was famous in its peak period, it is now old after all. Just like the Grizzlies' Otis Thorpe, its combat effectiveness has declined sharply.

Originally, the Raptors also had Levis acquired from the Grizzlies. Jiang Dongbing originally thought that the Raptors would vigorously train Levis, but he didn't expect that the Raptors were not that stupid. Maybe they were not satisfied with Levis' condition during offseason training.

So before the start of the season, Levi's was used to make a deal with Greencap, acquiring a first-round pick and point guard Dee Brown from Greencap.

It can also be seen from this that although the Raptors are a bit smaller, they are still very good at lineup matching.

The Raptors starting lineup on the forward and defensive lines makes Jiang Dongbing salivate.

The combination of Tracy McGrady and Carter, although both of them are raw, their strength cannot be underestimated, and it is very likely that both of them will explode.

The starting point guard is naturally Dee Brown, who was just acquired from Greencap.

Such a starting lineup, to put it harshly, could definitely crush the Grizzlies last season in the mud and rub them to death.

It's a pity that the Grizzlies this season are no longer what they used to be. Even if the Raptors' starting lineup is good, Jiang Dongbing is absolutely sure of winning.

At the beginning, Willis helped the Raptors get the jump ball, giving the Raptors the ball in the first offensive round.

There is no way, even when facing a veteran like Willis, Miller's athletic ability is stretched thin.

Dee Brown controlled the ball in the frontcourt and directly transferred the ball to Carter. It can be seen that the Raptors attach great importance to Carter and give Carter a high weight on the offensive end.

Christie, who was facing off, kept a close eye on Carter and gave up a defensive position to completely cut off Carter's advance route.

Carter tried repeatedly to get past Christie's defense, but in vain, and could only end his offensive round with a mid-range shot.

Perhaps because he was a little nervous in his first show, Carter missed his shot this time. Teammate Willis under the basket grabbed the rebound and then hit the ball with a rebound.

Jiang Dongbing smacked his lips. After arriving in the NBA, the average strength of the players has improved significantly. Even though many of Miller's attributes have reached the 80 mark, facing a veteran like Willis, he still has a complete advantage.

Not much advantage.

This is just Willis. If it were replaced by a killer like O'Neal at the basket, Miller would probably be at a clear disadvantage.

It was the Grizzlies' turn to attack, and Billups steadily controlled the ball to the frontcourt. Even though Billups has such shortcomings today, when it comes to controlling the rhythm of the game, Billups does the best.

It's still pretty good.

Christie moved very actively and received a pass from Billups outside the three-point line, but then Carter's defense came as promised.

Without any hesitation, Christie immediately passed the ball to the running Jackson at an extremely tricky angle. The latter took the ball and attacked towards the basket. Oakley, who was originally guarding Raheem, immediately stepped forward to cover.

What Oakley didn't expect was that the basketball in Jackson's hands was immediately passed to Brad Miller's hands under the basket. Just when Willis got up and was about to block the shot, he suddenly discovered that Miller passed the ball again.

The ball was passed, this time to Raheem.

Rahim raised his hand and dropped the knife, and scored an open three-pointer from outside the three-point line!

Willis and Oakley, two veterans, looked at each other with some disbelief in their eyes. In this first offensive round, they were fooled by two newcomers.

Such exquisite cooperation requires not only passing awareness, but also very strong passing skills. At least Willis and Oakley believed that they would not be able to pass the ball so cleanly in the situation just now.

Jiang Dongbing looked happy. The most distinctive feature of the starting lineup he put on the court was that everyone knew how to pass the ball and pass it well.

Even Raheem, the fourth position, is not weak in passing ability and has averaged more than three assists per game all year round.

Such a lineup may not be effective at times against teams with high defensive fit, but against a makeshift lineup like the Raptors, Jiang Dongbing is confident that the effect will not be that bad.

It was another Raptors offensive round, and this time Carter was still the main attacker. After failing to get rid of Christie, this time Carter transferred the ball to his cousin Tracy McGrady.

McGrady also failed to score the goal, and the rebound was stolen by Miller under the basket.

All I saw was Miller making a super long pass, and the ball went towards Jackson who was running crazily towards the forward.

Outside the three-point line in the frontcourt, Jackson received this super long pass, took two steps from three to two with his long legs, and successfully scored with a pick-up basket.

The Vancouver fans at the scene cheered loudly. Just from the opening two offensive rounds, it was obvious that the Grizzlies had become stronger.

And it doesn't seem to be even remotely strong. How could the Grizzlies in previous seasons play this kind of offensive rhythm?

The previous offensive rhythm of the Grizzlies was completely constipated. Because there was no reliable passing point, they had to wait slowly for everyone to be in position every time they attacked, and then handed the ball to Raheem or Levis for a single.

.

The long pass now appearing on the field is a continuous line, which is definitely a wonderful goal that Grizzlies fans have never seen before.

After hitting two good shots in a row, the Grizzlies' momentum immediately came out.

In this game, Jackson was responsible for facing off against Tracy McGrady, and Christie was responsible for facing off against Carter. Before the game started, Jiang Dongbing clearly told the two of them that as long as they could limit the scoring of their respective players to less than 20 points, then this game would be a success.

The game is won.

The Raptors' starting lineup does look good, but the main offensive points are only Tracy McGrady and Carter. If their scoring is limited, how can the Raptors win?

Jackson and Christie kept Jiang Dongbing's instructions in mind and worked extremely hard on the defensive end.

Luckily for McGrady, he has already played in the NBA for one year, and the player he faces is rookie Jackson, so his offensive efficiency is pretty good.

And his cousin Carter felt a little uncomfortable. He was directly enjoying the care of Christie, the current first-line perimeter defender in the league. Carter felt that he would rather die than live.

If it were any other ordinary player, he might have resigned himself to his fate and could only admit that he was unlucky, but Carter was definitely not an ordinary player. His strong desire to win would not allow his career debut to be ruined.

As a result, Carter took shots again and again. Although the hit rate was not very high, the frequency of shots did not decrease at all.

After about seven minutes of the first quarter, Raptors head coach Butch Carter called a long timeout with a livid face. The situation on the court was extremely unoptimistic for the Raptors.

Carter took seven shots in seven minutes, but only hit two, and all of them were mid-range shots, which meant he only scored four points.

Seven offensive possessions only yielded four points. Obviously, this offensive efficiency is really bad.
