Chapter 141 Christmas

The flames in the office fireplace were beating.

However, when Sherlock canceled the spell on the dementor who was invited and took off the sack, the coldness that penetrated people's heart swept across the room.

A bone-broken cold emanated from the dementor, and its face covered by its robe immediately took in hope and happiness for Sherlock, who was close to him.

This is their instinct to eat, even if they are caught now.

Sherlock didn't care about this. Compared with the grass man in the Fairy Command, the despair spread by the dementor was not worth worrying about.

He waved his wand, tightening the silver thread that bound the dementor, and tightened a little again.

It can be clearly seen that the dementors are very painful, and the things released by the guardian spell are the natural enemies of these monsters.

Although the original owner was not proficient in the patron sacre, he used the unconcrete patron sacre during his research in Azkaban to conduct experiments on dementors.

The dementors like the most and most necessary food to survive, which is the positive and positive human emotions.

They absorb positive emotions in humans and must receive feedback from fear emotions later.

In other words, dementors are not simply sucking hope and happiness. After sucking these emotions away, the sucked people will also show emotions of fear and despair to satisfy them.

The reason why the patron saint is the nemesis of the dementor is that those silver light threads contain only positive emotions of hope and happiness, and the summoned patron saint is a semi-solid creature condensed from positive emotions.

The patron saint will only have positive emotions, without despair, so the dementor will not be able to cause any harm to it, and will be driven away by this strong positive emotions.

But it's just an expulsion.

As the most evil creature in the world, the species Dementor cannot be destroyed.

Since the discovery of this monster, there has never been a single case of dementor death.

Even the most powerful guardian spells can only drive them away or reduce their power, but they cannot truly destroy them.

Of course, these are all experiences summarized by predecessors. Sherlock plans to try it out by himself today. Is this accurate?

He aimed at the dementor and summoned the guardian saint. The silver bird swung its wings over the dementor.

The dementor clearly showed restlessness. It seemed to escape from here, but was tied tightly by silver silk threads and could not move half a step at all.

Under Sherlock's control, the patron saint of the crow finally landed on the head of the dementor.

The dementor seemed to be in extreme pain, and grey smoke kept coming out of it. In a few minutes, it became extremely weak and collapsed on the ground.

But there was no other manifestation afterwards. The dementor fell softly to the ground, and Sherlock's patron saint stood above its head, and the black air gradually stopped coming out.

The dementors act at most like losing most of their power, but there is no sign of being killed.

A normal spell, even a life-seeking curse, is invalid for them. Physical attacks will not even touch these monsters. The only thing that can affect them is the patron sage.

But the guardian spell cannot kill them, at most it weakens their power to drive them away.

After verifying these things, Sherlock can basically understand why the Ministry of Magic finally cooperated with these creatures.

Dementors that rely mainly on human emotions must be the mortal enemy of human beings.

But this kind of creature cannot be killed, and normal means cannot cause any harm to them.

Magic like the Guardian Spell is the highest level of difficulty coefficients in the defensive spell, and there are very few wizards who can successfully summon the Guardian.

If a large number of dementors were in trouble everywhere, the wizard would not have enough people to expel them.

So the best way is to bring them together and comfort them with sufficient "food" so that they will not cause trouble in crowded places.

Building Azkaban into a wizard prison and sending guilty wizards into food for dementors is the solution.

The dementor obviously doesn't care what kind of identity it is in the eyes of the wizard.

As long as anyone provides them with enough food, they will listen to anyone, without any loyalty or credit.

Sherlock smacked his lips at the dementor sank on the ground. At first he thought that this creature would have the possibility of being completely wiped out, but now it seems that he was thinking too simple.

If the Guardian Spell was really lethal to dementors, the ancient wizards would not let them stay until now, and had long since driven out all these anti-human things.

After hiding the already weak dementor who was invited to visit, he hid in the cabinet and blocked it with the silk thread of the patron saint spell, Sherlock clapped his hands and went to the auditorium to help Professor Flevy decorate tomorrow's Christmas.

This dementor is still useful in the future, and he cannot let it go back for the time being.

On Christmas Day the next day, Sherlock woke up early and found a small pile of gifts on the head of his bed.

He stared at the gifts for a while, thinking about what he received last year, it seemed that only half of the gifts were in this pile, and now it was so high.

Of course, Sherlock gave a lot of gifts, unlike last year when he only gave Dumbledore a Christmas card.

However, the Christmas blessings he gave were not written by him.

Because when he was preparing his gift a week ago, Harry happened to be in the office. When he saw Sherlock writing the names of the blessings on greeting cards, including Mrs. Weasley, Mr. Weasley, Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall, he was so scared that his face turned pale.

Harry slowly told him that he could actually do it for him to write these blessings for him.

Sherlock naturally did not agree to him at first, but seeing Harry's begging and almost burst into tears, he finally compromised and asked Harry to write the blessing card on his gift instead.

When Harry was writing greeting cards on Sherlock's desk, he felt extremely grateful and proud.

He felt that he was a hero and saved all those who would have fallen into dire straits on Christmas.

The first thing to get up on Christmas is naturally the time to unpack the gifts.

Professor McGonagall gave him a certain knitted hat, but this time it was pure black.

Mrs. Weasley sent him a pair of wool pants, and Kingsley sent him a copy of ancient defensive magic files, which looked very precious.

Others include a complete set of wand care tools given to Hibiscus in France, and a brand new shorthand quill that Shilk gave to him.

To be honest, Sherlock was quite surprised when he received the gift from Hilk. He never thought that with Hilk's personality, he would give gifts to people on Christmas.

So was Furong. He didn't expect that it had been almost half a year since this, and the little girl in France still remembered him.

The most important thing is that he actually did not prepare gifts for these two people.

This made Sherlock, who was still accustomed to reciprocity, feel a little embarrassed. He always feels like a bad guy who is not in the world.

But Christmas has already begun, so he naturally has no way to make up for such mistakes. He can only wait until the next Christmas to double the compensation.

After dismantling the gift, Sherlock went to the auditorium for breakfast. He also wanted to help Professor Fleevy add some ribbons to the auditorium that was not arranged yesterday.

In the morning, he did not go back to the office, but talked to Professor McGonagall about teaching matters in the teacher's lounge.

The Christmas atmosphere in the castle this year is obviously much colder than last year, because there are very few students staying at school, and there are not a total of twenty single professors who have settled in the school all year round.

But the atmosphere of lunch was still active, and the joy of Christmas made Harry briefly forget about Black. Moreover, this morning he received a Christmas gift from a new type of flying broom "Steam" from "Steam Arrow".

On the dining table, with Dumbledore's strong recommendation, Snape reluctantly opened a magic firecracker, and a big witch hat that popped out from it fell on his head.

He pulled his face and pushed the hat to Dumbledore, who immediately happily put it on his head.

There was obviously one person missing on the dining table today, and Lupin did not come.

Divination professor Sybil Trilawney discovered this, and Dumbledore used the excuse of being sick again to hide the past.

In fact, these days are exactly the day when the full moon appears in mid-December. Lupin should have drank the wolf poison that Snape prepared for him and found a place to transform.

After the Christmas party ended, Sherlock returned to his office to continue to conduct a series of magic experiments on the dementor.

When the night enveloped the entire Hogwarts and the moonlight shone into the house through the glass, he stuffed the half-dead dementor back into the cabinet, then took out the locket on his neck and observed it in the moonlight.

I found it seemed to be a little newer than before.

The changes in this locket are inconceivable, but after so many days, it is obvious that it is a little different from when it appeared on Sherlock at the beginning.

Although the overall color is still dark and golden, the spots on the surface like rust have disappeared, as if they have been renovated.

Such changes are enough to confirm Dumbledore's words.

This locket is slowly repairing itself. What will happen on the day it is repaired is unknown.

Sherlock hopes that it will be best if it is opened, as Dumbledore said, when it can be opened, that is, when it can be removed from his neck.

Judging from its current self-healing speed, it probably won't take long for this day.
