Chapter 404: Regret and Hatred

"The name Peverier Chapter may not have been heard, but you must have heard of another story related to it - the God of Death and the Three Brothers."

This fairy tale is as famous as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in the magic world. Sherlock certainly knew it.

The content of the story is very simple, that is, the God of Death wants to obtain the lives of the three brothers, and in order to achieve their goals, they have to give them rewards to meet the different requirements of the three.

The eldest brother asked for an elderberry wand that was stronger than all the magic wands in the world. The second brother got a stone that could resurrect the dead, while the third brother was very cunning to ask for an invisibility cloak that could get rid of the supervision of the god of death.

In the end, the eldest and second brothers were taken away by the God of Death. Only the third brothers spent their lives peacefully, and finally met with the God of Death as a winner after death as if they were meeting an old friend.

This story is included in "The Story Collection of Poetry and Weng Bidou", which is a very classic fairy tale reading in the magic world.

Dumbledore told this story, and Sherlock certainly knew it very clearly.

And just by asking questions, Sherlock could vaguely guess what Dumbledore wanted to say.

"Professor, you wouldn't want to say that this story is not a legend, but a real existence?"

Dumbledore showed a solemn expression on his face, without the gentle smile he used to laugh at.

"No one is sure whether the God of Death exists or not, but the three items they once held are indeed real."

He stretched out the wand he always held in his right hand, and did not hide anything from Sherlock.

"In the story, the most powerful wand in the world is the one in my hand."

The straight wand with a protruding circle of protruding from no distance from the stick is indeed extremely strange, but if Dumbledore hadn't said it in person, who would have thought about it on the legendary wand?

"You should also know that Harry's invisibility cloak is either a high-level magical mantra or a fur from an invisible beast. However, no matter which of these two types, after long-term use, the magic on it will slowly pass away until it completely becomes an ordinary cloak."

"But the one that Harry's father left him has been passed down for thousands of years. The only explanation is that the invisibility cloak is the one in the hands of the third brother who finally succeeded in defeating the God of Death."

"And the black gem on this ring is perfectly in line with the characteristics of the resurrection stone held by the legendary second son."

Dumbledore's voice was calm, but the emotions suppressed in his calm words were not necessary at all that the uproar that was causing in Sherlock's heart at this time was small.

Listening to Dumbledore's story, Sherlock remembered the movie name that had just passed by before he traveled through time. When he saw the movie commentary, he skipped the content but was deeply impressed.

Because this book was made into two movies, and the last one was called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"!

Sherlock stared at the Gunter ring with resurrection stone in Dumbledore's hands and the elder sister wand, feeling a little incredible.

These three things can be called holy tools, and two of them are just placed in front of you in a dull manner?

But as someone outside the story, Sherlock was shocked, and the treasures were so easily collected. Such a simple thing.

Before this legendary item, he still retained complete sanity.

It was this kind of reason that told him that the normal Dumbledore would never easily be affected by something like the resurrection stone, even if it was one of the three holy tools of death.

If he really greed for the power of the Three Sacred Artifacts, he would take the invisibility cloak of the third brother, who is the most useful in the story, for himself, rather than return it to Harry.

Sherlock did not hide such doubts. He believed in Dumbledore's character, just as Dumbledore also believed in him completely and told him everything about the old wand in his hands.

"I can't understand the professor. Even if this thing is the legendary resurrection stone, for us, it is a Voldemort Horcrux to be destroyed. Why are you so excited after seeing it..."

When she said this, Sherlock's voice paused slightly, and he had already had a guess in his mind.

"Or, professor, who do you want to... resurrect?"

Dumbledore was silent.

Not only was he silence in language, but his expression and eyes were like a silent person, and he had nothing to say about Sherlock's questions.

Sherlock didn't urge the old man, he waited quietly, only the cry of lonely crows in the distance in the late winter night came from his ears.

After a while, Dumbledore sighed, and he sat on the dusty floor without any image.

"Although it's too late, Sherlock, would you like to listen to a sinful old man here to tell a story?"

He was completely indifferent to the appearance of President Hogwarts, Chief Wizard of Wisengamo, President of the International Federation of Magic, and the greatest white wizard of the 20th century. He was completely like a weak old man who had been in his twilight years and had no way to compensate for his countless regrets in his life.

Sherlock also sat directly on the dusty ground without any scruples. He knew very clearly that what Dumbledore needed now was not what he needed to comfort him, but just wanted a listener.

"When I was young, I had an ideal that I thought was extremely noble. At that time, I didn't know whether it was lucky or unfortunate, but I met the most important person in my life."

"I don't know if I have ever heard of the motto 'For The Greater Good', which was once the ultimate goal of all the actions of a group of thugs in the early twentieth century, and the person who first came up with this sentence was myself."

Sherlock unconsciously remembered that when he recognized the mark on the Resurrection Stone as the badge of the Saints organization, Dumbledore called the first person in history to be called the Dark King.

"Gellert"

Only those who are most familiar with each other and close to each other will call each other's name directly.

After Sherlock came to the magic world, of course, he learned about Dumbledore's history. He knew that he could have such a status today, all thanks to his own defeat of the Dark King who choleraed the entire magic world decades ago.

The first Dark King's name was Gellert Grindelwald.

"Yes, the man who I once defeated and put him in prison, who was called the first black devil, was my closest partner, friend and lover when I was young."

When he talked about his relationship with Grindelwald, he did not shy away at all. His calm tone was like telling a past that had nothing to do with him.

Sherlock's face also showed no shock or weird expression.

Through the details of Dumbledore's name before, he has guessed some of the inside stories. Although the relationship between the lover in the end was somewhat surprised, it was reasonable.

"We met in the Godric Valley, and at that time, we were like wind and leaves. Everyone thought that their greatest regret in their life was that they did not meet each other at the age of eighteen."

"We talked about magic there, discussed the situation in the magic world, discussed the rapid development of Muggle society, and denounced the ignorant conservativeness of the Ministry of Magic of various countries, and we had souls, shared our hearts and like-mindedness until an accident happened."

"My family is an ancient magic family. In addition to me, I have a younger brother and a younger sister. But when my youngest sister Ariana was six years old, she was abused for accidentally exercising magic in front of three ordinary boys. The magic entered her mind and drove her crazy."

"My father Percival used magic to attack the boys in order to avenge Ariana, and was eventually arrested and sentenced to prison by the Ministry of Magic. It was because of this that our family moved to the Godric Valley and cut off contact with the old friends. But not long after that, my mother died in Ariana's magic riot, and the three of us became orphans."

"Because of my mother's death, my younger brother Abufos had to continue his studies in school. I was forced to give up my originally planned plan to start a world trip after graduating from Hogwarts, and stay in the valley to take care of my crazy sister. But that was also the period of love between Gellert and I. Compared to me, Ariana also liked her second brother Abufos a little more, so I didn't take good care of her."

"Abfous was about to return to Hogwarts at that time. He knew clearly that during the two months he was at home that I did not focus on Ariana. He accused me in front of Gettler, but because of his accusations that angered Garrett, and there was a fight between them."

"One of them is my younger brother and the other is my lover. I don't know who to help. I just know that no matter how I shout through words, they don't listen to my advice. So I made an extremely stupid choice at that time. I also participated in their battles and tried to use violence to stop their violence."

"In the end, the tragedy happened. Ariana, who was already weak and sick, was hit by a spell released by someone and died in front of us."

It was obvious from Dumbledore's tone that the sadness and regret of his words had never appeared in the past.

"Gellert escaped the Godric Valley overnight. I knew he was not trying to escape from the Ministry of Magic, he just wanted to escape from me. At Arianna's funeral, Abufos broke my nose with his fist. I was not angry at all, but hated in my heart why he didn't beat me a little harder."

"I know very clearly that it doesn't matter whose wand the spell that hit Ariana was shot out. All the causes of this matter are on me. I can only be responsible for Ariana's death, but I can't take responsibility for it at all."

"I can only bear such sins and live for nearly a hundred years."

The sad old man looked up and looked at Sherlock.

"After living for so long, I have done many mistakes. Sherlock, Gellert, who is known as the first Dark Lord, is my former lover. Many of his organizational theories were proposed by me when I was young. It can be said that he is the one who has always practiced our agreement, and I am just a shameful betrayer."

"I brought Tom, who is more brutal and crazier than him, into Hogwarts, and let him get in touch with the magic student. I saw from the beginning that his misconduct was wrong, but I failed to correct him better, nor did I let this child who had gone astray since childhood return to the right path."

"I am called the greatest white wizard of the twentieth century, but in the twentieth century, there were two generations of the darkest periods in the magic world that were indirectly contributed by me, so I always felt that this title was not a praise, it was a statement of my guilt and a record of my fault."

"But the last thing I regret is Arianna's death. Because she was the first life I killed, a close relative who was innocent and suffering!"

Dumbledore's voice began to tremble unconsciously as he said this.

"When I was young, I read countless ancient classics, but even the great wizard wrote no shadow about the magic of resurrection. Only in that fairy tale, the resurrection stone was mentioned."

"I spent countless hours understanding and searching for this legendary thing, but I didn't get any reward. I was completely discouraged and thought that this thing was really just an illusory legend."

"It was not until I defeated Garrett on that day and got the right to use the old wand from him that the legend of my true consciousness was true. Since the old wand exists in the world, the resurrection stone must not be a false rumor."

"Since then, I have been searching for traces of the Deathly Hallows here again, but I still haven't discovered it at all. I was once again disappointed. It's been so long since time has passed. Even my younger brother Abufos, who has always hated me, forgave me later, and even I have completely let go of this matter."

"But fate likes to tease people so much. Just tonight, when I had completely let go of the resurrection of Ariana and thought that I would sleep underground with this regret and regret in the near future, we actually found it while searching for Voldemort's Horcrux."

Dumbledore's eyes were glowing, and he looked at Sherlock, holding the ring tightly in his hand.

"The Resurrection Stone, in the story of Death and the Three Brothers, has the power to summon people from the Death God!"
