Chapter 25 Decoy

Sean watched the drunk man wandering to the distance, and suddenly a bold idea popped up in his heart.

He followed the drunkard to the depths of the harbor and bought a big round bread from the bakery on the side of the road, but his eyes never deviated.

He walked through the fishy fish market, through sailors and merchants, through prostitutes and tax officials.

We came all the way to the door of an abandoned warehouse. The abandoned building was filled with homeless men and beggars. The solid ground of the warehouse gave them a dry ground to live in.

Sean's eyes swept over the tramps, and the tramps looked at the bread in his hand. At this time, a person in the corner caught his attention.

Compared with other homeless men, although this person looked down and out, he still maintained a part of his appearance. His black hair was combed as much as possible, and his clothes were not dirty enough to be seen. He even seemed to be intentionally keeping a distance from other homeless men, sitting quietly in the corner, thinking about something in his eyes, which shows that he has not completely lost his belief in life.

Sean looked at it for a moment and had already determined the goal he was looking for.

He broke off a piece of bread and threw the remaining large piece at the group of homeless men, who immediately started fighting for the bread.

The black-haired man hesitated for a moment, and a hint of hesitation flashed across his face, but he did not take action in the end.

But Sean walked over and handed a small piece of bread in his hand over. The man glanced at Sean, took it over and ate it expressionlessly.

“How does it taste?”

The black-haired man still had a expressionless face, "If I could choose, I would rather ask for a glass of wine."

"Haha, drinking alcohol to relieve sorrow is not a solution. If you drink too much, you will lose yourself. Look at those people, that is the end of losing yourself. You have to make plans for the future. You won't plan to ruin it here, right?"

"The future? Useless, I'm gone." The man said sadly.

"No, as long as you are alive, there is hope. Maybe one day you will suddenly meet a kind-hearted person." Sean transformed into a chicken soup expert and persuaded gently.

The man suddenly became alert, "Who are you, why do you tell me this?"

"Just think I am a kind person. Come on, let's talk about the business of the business. I can invite you to dinner. Even if the business is not done, you can at least have a full meal."

The man looked at Sean suspiciously, but he couldn't stand the temptation of food and followed Sean to a stall selling fish and meat stew on the street nearby.

This food stewed with ground fish, potatoes, peas, onions and other messy things is probably the most common snack in Holden Harbor.

The seafood that cannot be sold and fears of smelling is probably part of the pot. It only costs a few copper pennies to buy a full bowl, which is the favorite food of low-level sailors and porters.

It's not delicious, but it's at least warm and nutritious.

Sean ordered the man a bowl of fish and meat porridge, and he only had a glass of beer. He watched the man swallow all the food in the bowl, and even the bowl was clean.

It seemed that he had eaten enough, and the man's face had recovered a little.

"So, what do I need to do for you?"

"Well, why do you say that?"

"If I have learned anything from my business experience over the years, it is that there is no free lunch in the world. Let me first say that I am not good at fighting, and I don't have the ability to kill people. If I steal things - hehe, if I have this ability, I would have done it myself long ago, so if you come to me for these things, you may be disappointed."

Sean smiled, this person is quite interesting.

"May I have your name?"

"Blake Puman."

"So Mr. Puman, please rest assured. I'm not that bored. I'm not doing anything bad for you. In fact, I want to give you a chance to start over. You used to be a businessman?"

"The owner of the brave William, who occasionally brings goods on the ship and does some small business, three months ago, I took the opportunity to get a large amount of cotton cloth and wool velvet, and mortgaged a large amount of money for this, but the ship sank and nothing else..."

"What a sad story, maybe a hundred gold pounds can give you the opportunity to start your life again."

Black looked at Sean vigilantly, looking disbelief, but with some expectations, a little puzzled: "You want to give me so much money?"

"Of course, I need you to do a little favor. Don't ask why, don't inquire. You just need to do what I said. One hundred pounds will be yours. I think this money is enough for you to go abroad and start a new life, or you plan to go back to that abandoned house and wait for the port guard to come to see you to work in the mine."

Black agreed without hesitation.

"What do you need me to do?"

"No rush to this, let's change your image first.

Half an hour later, the two walked out of a barber shop.

Blake was completely refreshed at this time. He took a shower, got his hair cut, and put on Sean's spare double-breasted suit, looking like a tourist.

Sean looked at Black's middle-part hairstyle with satisfaction. The barber's skills were good, exactly the same as his hairstyle.

He handed over his flat hat and looked at Black wearing it, looking more like him.

He took out the ticket he had just bought.

"Your mission is very simple. Get this ticket and get on the boat in the afternoon. On the boat you must call yourself Professor Sean until you arrive at Faris and leave the local port. If you can, you can continue to use this identity for a while until you feel you need to change back to your original identity."

He took out a set of fake documents from his pocket and handed them to the other party, "This is your ID."

The anti-counterfeiting technology of certificates in this era is not very good, but the counterfeiting technology is also not very good. It cost him 20 gold pounds just this set, but it is enough to make the fake real one.

"Professor Sean? Disguise? So I'm a bait?"

Sean didn't lie, "That's right."

"So what am I hiding from?"

"I don't know, I may have caused some trouble. Maybe no one is chasing me at all. Just for the sake of caution, I am a very cautious person. If someone really comes to you in the future, you can tell the truth about what happened today. If not, then you should think that you have good luck."

Black nodded, "No problem, I will do all this." After saying that, he paused for a moment, revealing his emotions for the first time, "I know you are using me to do something, but no matter what, I am still very grateful for your help."

An hour later, Sean breathed a sigh of relief as he watched Black get on the boat.

If someone tracked down his whereabouts, and if someone used the official channel, they would find Professor Sean Forest all the way south and took the merchant ship from Holden Harbor to Faris, which might lead people to wander around Faris for a few times. It would be better if Black could go further, but no matter what, when they found out that they had found the wrong place, they would have been hiding in a certain mountain valley under Nordland.

However, just setting up bait is not enough, he also has to disguise himself.

He walked into the clothing store and bought a suit. Then he got a wild new hairstyle in the barber shop, bought some cosmetics, and dressed up in the hotel for half an hour. By the time Sean came out again, he had completely changed.

He wore a thick fur coat, his hair was oiled, and he combed it into a big back. He applied tea oil on his face, making his skin look dark, like a mountain man. He made another beard and put it on and looked in the mirror. He looked like a fur businessman and could hardly recognize him at all.
