Chapter 1685 : Do not intervene in politics

Zhu Yuanzhang was always a little dissatisfied with Yingtian as the imperial capital. His ideal capital was his hometown Haozhou or the ancient capital Chang'an, Luoyang, and Kaifeng capital. Of course, the capital (Beijing) was also within consideration. However, he was not afraid of not knowing goods, but was afraid of comparing goods. Chang'an and Luoyang had been destroyed for a long time and had been destroyed. It was very expensive to rebuild the capital. In Haozhou, the construction of Zhongdu was extremely expensive. The ministers all opposed it, and the people had opinions, and even had an uprising. He had to stop the construction. As for Kaifeng, it was good, the city was strong, and it developed very prosperously during the Northern Song, Jin and Yuan dynasties. Unfortunately, it was not easy to defend. Moreover, due to the low terrain, it was threatened by floods. Beijing was the capital of the Yuan Dynasty. The Yuan Dynasty was newly destroyed and the capital was built there. Both the monarch and ministers thought it was unlucky. Therefore, he reluctantly made it difficult and decided Yingtian as the capital.

Although he had already announced the world, Yingtian was still not satisfied with him. In his opinion, Yingtian was as the capital, three things bothered him. First, the situation in the Central Plains has always been in the north, and the capital of Nanjing was relatively safe; second, the remnants of the Yuan Dynasty still looked at the Central Plains and waited for an opportunity to go south. The capital of Nanjing was beyond the reach of these two places. These two places can be changed slowly, but the third hidden danger made him really uneasy.

Yingtian was indeed much worse than Zhongdu and Bianliang. Yanque Lake was low-lying and too close to the outer city. It was easily threatened by enemy forces outside the city during wartime, and was not an ideal location. However, military advisor Liu Bowen judged that this place was a "head" treasure land. Zhu Yuanzhang believed that Liu Bowen's ability and had to build a new palace here. In order to build a new palace, he mobilized hundreds of thousands of migrant workers to fill the lake. Because the lake was low and the lake filling project was very large, it required a large amount of earth and stone. Therefore, there was a legend among the people in Nanjing that "moved to three mountains to fill the swallows and birds". After most of Yanque Lake was filled, in order to prevent the foundation from sinking, countless dense wooden piles were drilled under the foundation, and giant stones were built on it, and large waterways with brick and stone structures were paved.

In order to clarify the water source of the inner palace, a large number of rain and flowers were paved at the bottom of the remaining lake, allowing the lake to penetrate the city wall and surround it in the inner palace. That's it, Zhu Yuanzhang believed that this destroyed Feng Shui and was not good for future generations. Therefore, he always wanted to move the capital. Where to move? In his mind, Chang'an was better. Chang'an had Hangu Pass, Longshu's fertile field thousands of miles, Bashu's wealth in the south, and Hu people's livestock breeding convenience in the north, which could defend on three sides and restrain the princes to the east. As long as he held the Wei River to transport the capital, when there was a change in the east, he could go down the river. As the saying goes, Jincheng, a thousand miles of miles, the country of Tianfu, is the most ideal capital, but the world has not yet been unified, and the matter of moving the capital is not a trivial matter. It needs to be discussed for a long time. This is the reason why he did not move the capital to Hanzhong.

"Your Majesty-?" A eunuch looked at Zhu Yuanzhang's frown and lowered his frown, then he carefully arched his body and walked forward and shouted.

Zhu Yuanzhang sat upright on the dragon chaise, picked up the tea cup on the tea table and sipped the tea. He raised his eyelids and said, "What's the matter?"

The eunuch looked like he was facing a great enemy and said tremblingly: "Return, report to Your Majesty, the Grand Marshal sent the spies, and the Prime Minister sent someone to the palace!"

"Where is the spy?" Zhu Yuanzhang was shocked and stood up.

The eunuch was shocked and said with greater concern: "Report to your Majesty, are you here with me?"

"Take it!" Zhu Yuanzhang shouted.

"Yes!" The eunuch hurriedly sent the spy.

Zhu Yuanzhang did not rush to open the spy, but glanced at the eunuch, snorted coldly from his nose, and said, "Where did you get this spy?"

The eunuch was shocked, and then sweated like rain, and said tremblingly: "When I cleaned up Your Majesty's study this morning, I happened to see the Jinyiwei sent the intelligence from the palace. I was afraid that Your Majesty would forget to read it, so I took the courage to deliver it to Your Majesty-?"

"Give me a bold one?" Zhu Yuanzhang sneered: "You are really bold! The person who came out will be dragged out! The responsibility is 50!"

"Your Majesty, please spare me, I will never dare to do it again? I will never dare to do it again?" The slave fell to his knees and begged for mercy loudly.

Zhu Yuanzhang said: "In the past, eunuchs in the Tang Dynasty began to gain military power from Li Fuguo, the chief supervisor of the palace. "The treasure seal and military name of the Chenxi military were entrusted to it. In the future, eunuchs not only commanded the Shen Ce Army, but also formed a strait, and finally formed an autocratic power, and even had the power to abolish the crown prince. Emperor Wenzong of Tang even claimed that he was not as a result of King Nan of Zhou and Emperor Xian of Han. The eunuchs were so hateful, how could I indulge them!" When he said this, Zhu Yuanzhang frowned, a trace of murderous aura shot out in his eyes, and said to the Jinyiwei at the door: "Send the order, in the future, eunuchs will be punished if they interfere in politics in the Ming Dynasty!"

This imperial edict was just a matter of time. In the Hongwu dynasty, eunuchs were not allowed to interfere in political affairs. In the 17th year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang specially cast an iron plate and hung it on the palace gate. The iron plate read: "Insider's ministers are not allowed to interfere in political affairs, and those who violate the crimes are killed." Until later, Zhu Di raised an army to "Jingnan" and spy on the affairs of the palace, many eunuchs made military achievements. For example, Gou'er, Li Xing, Zheng He, Ma Jing, etc., began to be highly valued. "The eunuchs in the Ming Dynasty took on missions, specializing in expeditions, supervising military forces, division of towns, and assassinating subjects and hidden powers all started in Yongle." Although eunuchs participated in many political activities, they had not yet reached the level of autocracy. By the time of Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty, a situation of autocracy began to form. The eunuchs in Zhu Yuanzhang were not allowed to interfere in politics as if nothing had been written. The eunuchs in the Ming Dynasty formed a unique situation. This was something that Zhu Yuanzhang could not predict.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ sorry, it's not just a word count, these are all worthless, tell two short stories! Haha-

Legend has it that after the construction of Nanjing City and the imperial palace, Zhu Yuanzhang led his ministers to climb the Zijin Mountain and looked down at the majestic capital. There were 9 miles of Nanjing City, 13 gates and majestic palaces, which were rare in the world at that time. Regarding the creation of such a magnificent capital in his own hands, Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang was very proud and asked his ministers with flaunt: "How is my capital building?" The ministers naturally praised it. Only the 14-year-old fourth prince Zhu Di said: "There is a cannon on Zijin Mountain, and the cannons hit Zijin City." Zhu

Yuanzhang looked closely and couldn't help but sweat. It turned out that the mountains around Nanjing capital were undulating, Zhongshan to the east, Yuhuatai to the south, Mufu Mountain to the north, etc., and some important commanding heights were outside the city, which was a taboo in the city defense. Zhu Yuanzhang was angry, but it did not happen at that time. After returning to the palace, he asked the eunuch to send a plate of oranges to Liu Ji, who was responsible for planning the construction of the city. Liu Ji knew that the emperor blamed him for his misconduct, and wanted to peel the oranges and eat meat. He was so scared that he fled to Maoshan overnight to avoid disaster.

Of course this is just a legend. However, there is indeed a true story of Zhu Yuanzhang being beheaded for writing a plaque.

The word "安" in the palace plaques with the end of the "安" is straight down to the bottom without the upward hook. The writing of the word "安" began in the Song Dynasty. It is said that after Lin'an, the Yudian Palace caught fire and the door burned. The prime minister reported that the word "安" in the palace plaques had a hooked foot and a fire pen, so it caused fire to burn all these plaques to avoid disaster. From then on, the last pen of the "安" written by the palace plaques was straight down and not hooked. Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the book of the Zhongshu Zhan Xiyuan to write the door plaque. Zhan Xi was a famous calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty. He was a servant in the court and often wrote plaques for the palace office list. People were proud of his writing. When Zhan Xiyuan wrote, he hooked the last word "安" vertically inside a little higher. After seeing it, Zhu Yuanzhang was furious and said, "I want to gather the virtuous, but Zhan Xi originally wanted to block the way of my virtuous?" He ordered him to behead him.
