Chapter 462: The Great Qin State Religion

Daqin, Chang'an.

This city can almost be regarded as the largest city in the entire world of practice.

The inner and outer layers are the outermost layers, and the outermost layers are where ordinary people live, and are divided into hundreds of urban areas and live in tens of millions of people.

The inner layer is divided into more than twenty urban areas, and almost all of them are monks living in it.

And at the core, it is called the "City on the Clouds", from a distance, it really looks like a real immortal palace.

The spiritual veins in Chang'an City are the best in the entire world of cultivation, regardless of their concentration or scale.

It is worth mentioning that the Great Qin Palace is not in the City of Clouds, but at the foot of the City of Clouds. Although this location is also at the core of the inner city, it is obviously incomparable to the City of Clouds that is high above.

It's not on the same level, indeed.

In the Great Qin Dynasty, the emperor was of course the highest ruler of this country. However, this was just secular royal power. In the Qin State, there was a rare feature of other countries.

National Education.

The national religion of Daqin is the spiritual pillar of the entire Qin society. Theoretically, from civilians who have not had any experience in practicing Buddhism to emperors who have reached the peak of Dharma, they are all believers of the national religion.

It is conceivable how important the so-called state religion is.

Of course, as the leader of the regime, the Emperor of Qin was not without authority. The administrative power and army of the dynasty were still firmly held by this emperor.

At the earliest times, the influence of the Daqin National Church on the country was not so strong. Even at the very beginning, they did not have the title of "National Church". In the eyes of the outside world, it was just a religion that could cultivate monks.

As time goes by, they become larger and larger, and more believers go deep into the lives of the Qin people. Both monks and people have received very cautious influences and eventually become the so-called national religion.

But even when they first became the state religion, their influence was probably limited to being the Qin emperor and government, and tools used to rule the country.

This situation lasted for a long time, but after the current reign of the Great Qin Emperor, Qin Shang, succeeded to the throne, some changes gradually began to occur.

On the eve of Qin Shang ascending the throne, he was still a cultivator at the Nascent Soul level. In the powerful Qin Dynasty, even the direct prince with the purest bloodline, if he had only such strength, he would never be able to compete for the throne of the emperor.

Since the founding of the Qin Dynasty, there has been no emperor below the level of Dharma and Phrases.

At that time, Qin Shang had an older sister and a younger brother, both of whom were powerful people at the level of Dharma. Logically speaking, the throne had nothing to do with him.

Even though he received support from the state religion, which had already had a great influence in Qin, according to the tradition of Qin, he was still unlikely to be able to take over the position of emperor.

However, next, something magical happened: in just two years, Qin Shang directly broke through to the Dharma Realm Period from the Nascent Soul level who was not qualified to compete for the imperial power.

But in fact, even so, it is difficult for him to compare with his sister and younger brother as he has become a Dharma image.

The main reason is: his sister and younger brother have both experienced old Dharma images and have entered the middle stage. The battle for imperial power is about to be on the verge of vernal affairs. Even if Qin Shang has become a monk at the level of Dharma images, how can he compete with others for the new Dharma images that have just been broken through?

However, the facts are so shocking.

Qin Shang won, and in the rebellion that suppressed his own sister, he crushed and defeated the opponent with an absolute advantage and killed the opponent on the spot. His younger brother chose to surrender very wisely and quickly became a believer of the state religion in the future.

After becoming a believer, Qin Shang's younger brother also became a very loyal subject of the entire empire and was always obeying his orders. He was completely different from his character when he was fighting for the throne with him.

How he quickly broke through to the level of Dharma phase, and how he could easily eliminate his competitors on the throne when he broke through to the level of Dharma phase. This is probably inseparable from the national religion.

People with a slightly normal mind can easily realize this.

It is precisely because of this that the state education really began to move towards the forefront.

Before this, although many people of Qin were truly believers of the state religion, there were not so many who were truly crazy believers who were willing to sacrifice their lives and shed their blood for the state religion. The state religion, in the political life of the Qin people, was more like a spiritual supplement, and even the status of the pillars could not be discussed.

However, after the National Church successfully supported Qin Shang to the position of imperial emperor, everything changed a lot.

And later on, since the National Church can support Qin Shang to the throne, they naturally have their own demands.

After Qin Shang came to power, the atmosphere of the entire Qin Dynasty began to undergo some rapid changes.

The most concentrated manifestation of these changes is that the authority of the state education has been strengthened step by step.

Although the management of the entire empire, from local administration, to the training of monks, and then to the empire's monk army, the court and the emperor had the final say, and the state religion had no interest in influencing this part of power.

However, where they really control is the spirit of the people.

A large number of people have truly become believers of the state religion, and they are very firm.

Although people's work and development are mainly based on the orders of the court and various local forces, in the minds of most Qin people, a religious concept has gradually emerged. The status of the state religion is supreme.

The faith of the state religion is also well packaged. They do not have a single concept of God.

If it is just a "god", it will not be considered popular in the world of cultivation. The monks all have powerful extraordinary power. As long as they move up gradually, although it is difficult, as long as they can walk up, they can gain the ability to move mountains and fill the seas. In such a world, it is unrealistic to make people worship too much about things like "gods".

For most monks with normal minds, even if there are things like gods, monks usually recognize them as more powerful monks, and it is difficult to think that this is an omniscient and omnipotent god.

The interesting thing about the packaging of the state religion is that they package the entire doctrine into a kind of "Tao".

This kind of ‘Tao’ is an idea and a value. The core concept lies in ‘order’.

The state religion does not talk about good or evil, and they do not mind good or evil. What they care more about is the ‘order’ itself.

Under the promotion of the state religion, the laws of the entire Qin Kingdom have gradually become detailed and strict over the years. Moreover, when implemented, they do not mention any human feelings at all, and strictly enforce them in accordance with the law.

From monks to the general public, the recognition of order has also become increasingly deeper and deeper as the belief in the state religion continues to expand.

Of course, human nature, whether it is an ordinary person or a monk, cannot fully comply with order. There are always people who are willing to be free or evil. Some of them are born to dislike such uncomfortable bondage, and some are even dissatisfied with some evil laws formulated by the Qin State.

However, no matter what identity such a person is, he has been cruelly suppressed by the state religion.

In this regard, the handling of state religion has always been a set of methods: first expelling the church, then the government declares it a crime, and then dealing with the strictest rules.

Under this kind of disposal, a large number of people died.

After obtaining a lot of information about Qin, Lu Qing always felt a very strange feeling.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with attaching importance to order. A high degree of order means that the entire society has a high degree of organization and mobilization ability, and the entire society can concentrate its efforts to accomplish major tasks.

However, everything has a degree.

It is okay to strictly enforce the law, but is the law itself necessarily good? In Lu Qing's understanding, the law itself is formulated and of course needs to be enforced. However, when formulating the law, perhaps it is because the law makers are not considerate well, or the interests of the law makers, or simply because of the changes in the times and society, some originally good laws become less and suitable.

In this case, in addition to enforcing the law, there should also be corresponding policies that allow people to discover and adjust those inappropriate orders.

However, Qin did not have this mechanism.

In Lu Qing's view, some laws are simply evil laws, but these laws are still meticulously enforced. Not to mention violating them, even if they do not violate the law and express dissatisfaction with the law, they will be persecuted.

Moreover, when the law is enforced, it is done completely in accordance with the provisions and does not consider the matter itself at all. This is of course a manifestation of evil.

Combining these two points makes the atmosphere of the entire Qin Kingdom very depressing and terrifying.

But I have to say that the power of order is still very terrifying.

Under a strong order, the power of Qin can be concentrated very well. The society has a strong ability to mobilize, the army is very organized, and it is difficult for spies to operate in the Qin environment. Various means of monitoring the people and monks are everywhere, but these excessive powers will breed corruption...

In short, this is a country that makes Lu Qing feel a little uncomfortable.

Let’s talk about Qin itself.

In the Great Qin Palace, the current Emperor Qin Shang, Qin Shang, changed into a robe suit.

This is the most solemn outfit as an emperor. Not only Qin State, but almost all countries have similar outfits. Because it is troublesome to wear and it is very uncomfortable to wear, most emperors do not like it very much. Unless it is in some very formal and unfit occasions, the emperors do not like to wear such troublesome things in private, when they are usually not allowed to wear.

The same is true for Qin Shang.

But today, there are no major tributes or memorials in the Great Qin State, and it seems that the emperor does not need to do so.

However, Qin Shang, who was solemn at the moment, seemed to be about to announce some very important decision.

And in the empty Daqin Palace where he was, there was only one person who was by his side.

The Great Qin National Master, Fang Ziliang.

"Your Majesty, I will ask you the last question. If you take this step, you cannot turn back."

"I know." Qin Shang looked serious, "But, if not, how can he deal with Yan State?"

"Stop, is it really impossible?"

This is Fang Ziliang’s biggest question.

Before becoming the national teacher, he was Qin Shang's personal teacher and Qin Shang's most important counselor. He was the most trusted person of Qin Shang, both before and after Qin Shangcheng became emperor.

It is precisely this identity that makes Fang Ziliang see all the changes step by step over Qin Shang's long years.

He could understand Qin Shang's talent and strategy in his heart. However, is the national religion a good thing? Fang Ziliang knew better than anyone else about the price Qin Shang paid to become the Emperor of Qin.

He abandoned all emotions such as joy, disgust, anger, and with the help of the national religion, Qin Shang became a monk at the Dharma level and the Emperor of the Qin Dynasty.

But without these, are you still an individual?

The supreme ruthless... Order is above everything... Fang Zijing always has doubts in his heart.

He didn't know if this path was really correct.

However, this really helped Qin Shang become emperor and also effectively strengthened the national strength of Qin. Fang Ziliang was just confused at the beginning, but it was difficult to object. After all, this was an agreement made by Qin Shang with the National Church in order to become emperor.

But later, as the influence of the state religion became greater and greater, as the national teacher of the Qin Dynasty, he felt something was wrong, but when he wanted to do something, it was too late.

Many things have been taken that step, and they cannot be saved.

It’s not that he didn’t understand that Qin State needs to become stronger and continue to expand outward. However, is it really necessary for the Qin Dynasty to unify the entire world of cultivation? Is it really necessary to go east and compete for hegemony with the limelight of Yan State?

Even if it is a battle for hegemony, do you really have to pay these prices?

As the Emperor of Qin, Qin Shang has grown rapidly over the years and has become a cultivator at the peak of Dharma image. He wants to go further and enter the legendary level of the Divine Sea that has only existed for a long time and a long time. But last time, Qin Shang had already given all the human emotions to exchange for everything he has now. What about this time? What else does Qin Shang need to pay?

Fang Ziliang didn't know, but he didn't believe that the State Church would have such kindness.
