CHAPTER XIII DEAD - UNIDENTIFIED

Chapter 13: The Dead - Unidentified Identity

Professor Sun sorted out the information collected today in front of the campfire, and while telling us the legend recorded on the inscription intermittently. The stone pillars under the stool of the Wuyang King were left behind by the water control that year. The carved seal script was engraved with extremely fine seals, with the patterns "light and heavy thunder patterns" and the seal script "Ancient Seal of Snails". People who are idle at all cannot understand these strange-shaped snails like heavenly books. However, Professor Sun has been immersed in this art for decades, devoted his endless effort and extraordinary achievements, which are not accessible to ordinary scholars and experts. It is no problem to understand them.

I was secretly glad that if I hadn't brought Mr. Sun Jiu to Qingxi with all his heart, Shirley Yang and Fatty, even if I saw these ancient mysteries, I would have to think that they were invisible. I didn't say more and listened to Professor Sun's story attentively. It turned out that the hint of looking for the entrance to the Earth Immortal Ancient Tomb was not only hidden in the secret of Qingwu Feng Shui, but also related to the ancient legends in the "Coffin Gorge".

In the early years, due to the unique terrain of Wushan Mountains and the benefits of yin and yang fish were not benefited from the water diversion of water, this mountainous area was raging, and floods were caused by natural disasters and disasters continued year by year. Every year, countless people and animals were swallowed by the flood, becoming the food for fish in the river.

Just when the upper and lower levels were helpless, a hermit came forward in the mountain. He was tall and burly, bearded, and dressed in a black robe. He called himself the "Wuling King". He had the technique of moving mountains, which could drive the Yin soldiers to clear the river.

But he also put forward two conditions: one is that during the project of moving mountains and opening rivers, the local area must offer wine, meat and rice. When it is time to eat, the wine and meat and rice will be piled at the entrance of the cave. There is a big cauldron in front of the cave. The people who delivered the food yelled the cauldron three times in advance, and then quickly went out of the mountain to avoid it.

The second condition was to ask the emperor to grant him an official title to commend his merits. At that time, he suffered from the huge project and even if he was willing to pay for the money and grain, he could not move mountains and guide the rivers. The court also valued the masters who were enlightened and immediately agreed.

So King Wuling did a whole day to drive Yin soldiers and generals to drain the river. Since then, the mountains have been covered with clouds every day, and the sound of attacking the mountains and opening stones is like thunder. The local people feel their virtue and choose a woman named Li and marry King Wuling as their wife. After that, the wife personally supervised the matter for the Yin soldiers in Kaihe.

The water control project was both difficult and long. One day, it suddenly rained heavily. The King of Wuling commanded the Yin soldiers to attack the river and the wine and food he sent remained intact for two consecutive days. The wife became worried and took people into the mountains.

When they arrived at the scene of the river, everyone was shocked. A big black pig in the canyon was urging the mountain with his head in the water. Behind it were countless mountains, ghosts, and mandrills, which were transporting earth and stones. It turned out that the Wuling King of Moving Mountain was transformed by the black sheep in the mountains. He wanted to show his true form to open the river with the power of ghosts and gods, so he never refused to let people enter the mountain to meet.

Seeing that his true form was discovered, King Wuling hid in the mountains from then on and never opened the river again. He was even more ashamed to meet his wife again. The wife knelt in front of the mountain and asked for nothing, so she had to jump into the cliff and die. King Wuling felt ashamed of his wife, so he led the ghost soldiers to clear the last section of the river, completely curing the flood.

The court issued a heavy reward and asked the True Lord Wuling to manage another section of the river with severe floods. If he could receive his full merits, he would have a period of being appointed as the king and the prime minister. However, the King Wuling said that he would return to the deep gorge from then on. Unless his wife was resurrected, he would never open the mountain. On the day of farewell, all the people would send him away.

King Wuling was drunk and mistakenly walked away from Xiling Mountain. He showed his true form and couldn't wake up. He was captured by the local uninformed mountain people. He immediately tied up tightly and burned the pot. It was a busy task of fading hair and bleeding. When his subordinates found the whereabouts of King Wuling Mountain, the king's water had been cooked for a long time.

Then there was a plague in the local area first, and then locusts came over the sky. The people said that this was the ghost of King Wuling, so they built a large tomb in the gorge to bury his remaining corpses, but only his body was left with flesh and bones, and his head was probably eaten and could not be found. They built a temple to worship every year, and made a jade body and bronze head for offering sacrifices.

The crisscrossing canyons and the dangerous bird paths all over the walls are all ruins of the Wuling King's army in the process of opening rivers and controlling rivers. The natives who died in the process of opening rivers and controlling rivers in all dynasties were included in the hanging coffin. As the flood gradually decreased, they were buried layer by layer on cliffs. They were originally unintentional, but unexpectedly formed a giant headless statue, which is probably a sign of the death of Wuling King. Before Wuling King came out of the mountain, he led his Yin soldiers to dig the Wuyan mineral veins in the mountains. The salt-well mine cave in the "Coffin Gorge" is where his tomb is located. From the feast hall to the king's tomb, it takes a dangerous section of the "Hundred-Step Bird Road" to reach the entrance of the tomb.

Professor Sun told us this record in its original form, and I suddenly realized: "It turns out that the last sentence left by Captain Feng back then was actually only useful, or it may be just the first paragraph, which means that the entrance to the ancient tomb of the Earth Immortal may be hidden in the original tomb of the Wuyang King. So if you want to visit the Earth Immortal, you should first look for the Wuyang King. The legend of the Wuyang King opening mountains and guiding rivers is an important clue to finding the King's tomb. However, this knowledge must have some hints next, and it is unknown now."

Shirley Yang was also puzzled by the legend of "Wuyang King". He asked Professor Sun: "This legend is not like historical facts no matter how you hear it, according to this, King Wuling should be a virtuous man who has opened mountains and rivers to control the waters and has made contributions to the people. However, the corpse in the cave is so violent, but it is very different from the deeds on the inscription. Is there really a tomb of King Guangde in the coffin gorge?"

Professor Sun said: "The inscriptions on the bells and steles are mostly words that praise merit and cannot be believed. However, the remains of this throughout the ages cannot help but believe that the tomb of King Wuling is hidden in the coffin gorge. However, the real deeds may not be like this. The legend of King Wuyang showing his true form and creating a mountain is mostly the color of a god, so naturally he cannot take it seriously." In addition, this matter is not recorded in various local chronicles and historical materials. The secrets of Wuxie culture are ancient, and many things have been lost in the long river of history and cannot be verified now.

The fat man interrupted, "I see that the coffin gorge is so steep, not like the primitive labor force in ancient times, but maybe it is all about looking at the gilded words on his face. This king without a brain should be full of evil deeds. He was afraid that he would be beaten after his death, so he found someone to erect a monument and stud it in front of the tomb. But then again, no matter how cruel King Wuling was during his lifetime, he would be made into pork head meat and braised and burned in the end, which was considered unhappy."

Professor Sun said: "This statement has some truth. According to my experience, Wuling King may not be a real black sheep. There are too many trends in ancient Chinese history to overturn the case. It is difficult to conclude anything in one sentence. I remember that there was a mention of a similar deed of a prince, but it was not Wuling, but Longchuan. It is said that the King of Longshan was brutal by nature and was extravagant and extremely desireful, but he dredged the rivers and cured the floods. He was a man who had made merits and demerits when he died. His descendants were worried that someone would steal the king's to revenge him, so he changed his name when he was buried and used various means to cover up his eyes. As for which region the King of Longshan was ruled, he always had different opinions. Judging from the remains in the coffin gorge, I think Longchuan King is probably the King of Moving Mountain Wuling."

Mr. Sun Jiu never dared to speak much at work, but in front of us, he naturally didn't have to worry about making mistakes. So as soon as he started talking, he couldn't control himself. He talked endlessly about Pang Zheng's quotes, and then talked about the King of Longchuan. This person knew astrological techniques. In ancient times, he could not do without art. If he didn't understand the layout of mountains, rivers, the veins of rivers would not only be twice the result with half the effort, but also had endless troubles. When I was studying the mystery of dragon bones, I discovered many records about floods and earthquakes...

I said to Professor Sun: "No matter whether he is the King of Wuyang or the King of Longchuan, his tomb has been stolen for hundreds of years, and the right and wrong are gone, so there is no need for us to verify the merits and demerits in history. Now we should find a way to find that hundred-step bird path first. If a cave with a bench with a jade statue is really a place to worship the tomb. According to the Feng Shui burial system, the entrance of the tomb passage must be in the direction behind the jade man, and it will not be too difficult to find. What I am worried about is that entering the tomb passage is not enough."

Professor Sun and Shirley Yang were also deeply worried. The only hint left by Captain Feng was the first paragraph. After finding the entrance to the tomb of Wuyang King, we had no reference at all. At that time, we could only take one step at a time. No one knew how far away it was to the tomb of Dixian Village. Everyone had been thinking about it for a long time, but they only thought that the good or bad luck was uncertain and the future was unpredictable.

When I rested in the cave until early morning, I cheered up and continued to head towards the end of the cave. When I saw the cave, I saw that it was indeed coming through the mountains. This was another canyon in the "Coffin Gorge". Although it was much wider than the area full of hanging coffins, it also had a steep situation.

The peaks in the mountains are misty and mist, and the vastness of the vastness is endless. The water at the bottom of the gorge is overwhelming. It is impacted by the cliffs, forming a "a"-shaped turn. The upstream in the distance is a roaring waterfall. The rapids "fall sharply" in the canyon, causing mist in the sky, just like a giant dragon with silver scales, flying down into the sky, drilling into the depths of the canyon, and hitting the cliffs on both sides soared into the sky.

I looked at the rapids at the bottom of the gorge. Although I was not afraid of heights, I felt extremely dizzy. When I looked at the cliff opposite, there were indeed many winding bird paths in the sky, like a huge spider web, embedded on the cliff of thousands of feet, and were lost in the way, which made people's eyes dizzy.

Shirley Yang held up the telescope and looked for a while, hesitated and said: "There are hundreds of dangerous paths embedded in the mountains on the opposite side. In addition to many dead ends, there are many caves at the end. How do you know which section of the Hundred Steps Bird Road refers to?"

I said don’t worry, Master Sun Jiu made a lot of efforts last night, otherwise how could he know the origin of the headless king? But he couldn’t take all the credits alone. Today, let the comrades see the methods of "the golden lieutenant" and I confirmed to Professor Sun again, was the original words of Leader Feng “a bird path that lies across the road, and nine times a hundred steps”?

Professor Sun immediately took the honorary guarantee. This passage has been repeated in his mind for more than ten years, so he will definitely not be wrong.

I nodded secretly, and I had already thought that the key word for the sentence "The bird path is crisscrossing, and nine times a hundred steps" should be "nine". Looking at the bird path on the opposite cliff, it is like the momentum of "the dragons tangle the mountain". No matter who left the ancient ruins in this canyon, it is definitely not arbitrary structure. Maybe others can't see this mystery, but this pattern of pushing the star to the tip of the sword of the secret technique of touching the gold.

Generally speaking, the part or whole of the ancient tombs must be combined with the number of "nine", which means "long-lasting existence". The "Secret Art of Finding Dragons" in "Six-character Yin and Yang Feng Shui" says: "The dragon searching technique" in "The Secret Technique of the Sixteen-character Yin and Yang Feng Shui" says: "The group of dragons tangled in the river to make nine turns, and the songs are all nine turns; the nine turns will be nine turns, and the nine turns will surround the dragon tower; the nine turns will eventually return to one, and enter Lingshan in three or three..."

The fat man said strangely: "Commander Hu, you have good calculations. You can read ninety-ninety-one. But you have been nine for a long time, and I haven't heard where we should go?"

I explained, "When will it be said that ninety-nine eighty-one? It's still three ninety-two. We call the Dragon's Entry Strategy. The mystery of the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams is inside. If even a rough man like you can understand it, I might as well just write the Popular Astronomy book passed down by my family. In fact, there is only one way that is true. Just go up from the tenth below, turn one turn every third fork, turn one turn twice, turn another three different paths, walk down and not up, walk left or right, and repeat nine times, and you can enter the cave entrance you see. It is estimated that it is the entrance to the tomb of the Wuyang King."

Professor Sun felt even more strange. Out of work habits, he liked to study the essence of everything, so he asked me: "Zhuge Liang almost trapped the general Lu Xun of the Eastern Wu with the Eight Gate Formation. It seemed that he used the principle of the five elements of birth and restraint. These are things that have been lost for many years. Why do you still know? I heard from Old Chen that your set of things were passed down by elders in your family? What exactly did your elders do?"

I glanced at Shirley Yang and thought to myself that Shirley Yang's grandfather was the leader of moving mountains, so what a high reputation? Her grandfather was also a scholarly family, and he could do anything to tell anyone. Even the youngest sister's godfather was the old Yuanliang in "Hongwo Mountain".

Why did my old Hu family start to my grandfather's generation, and set up a stall to tell fortunes and promote feudal superstition? I was too low to be embarrassed to say it, so I whispered in Professor Sun's ear: "My grandfather was a kite who traveled across the mountains and seas back then. He was famous all over the world and participated in the revolution earlier, but he participated in the Xinhai Revolution. He was called Jindian in the world. In the world, I call these skills from my family. I didn't learn 10 or 20% of them, which made you laugh."

Professor Sun asked Shirley Yang a lot of incisions of the mountain scriptures on the road. He realized something when he heard this and praised him, "No wonder, if it were not for the Green Forest family, there would be no such genius."

I was worried that Master Sun Jiu would continue to ask questions, so I quickly took the lead in searching for a dangerous path to walk down the mountain. Between the two seemingly endless cliffs, several iron-locked wooden bridges were connected. Walking on it, people were swaying with the bridge, and the river was flowing at the bottom of their feet. It was inevitable that they were thrilling, and it was difficult to turn back here. Everyone was gritting their teeth and heading to the opposite side.

Suddenly, clouds and rain rose in the canyon. In the rain and fog, the surrounding scenery became blurred. Fortunately, I saw the path before and found the entrance to the hanging bird path. Following the mantra of "seeking dragons into the momentum", this road was wet with rain. When I walked, I almost shaved my head. I turned nine steps and nine times. Those walking behind could see the feet of the people in front of me on their heads.

I secretly recited the "Looking for Dragons" in secret, and walked up the dangerous cliffs. I was worried that I would lead the wrong way, so I couldn't help but be distracted at all times. As the saying goes, "It's easy to go up the mountain and it's difficult to go down the mountain." When I go up, I see the road in front of me, and even the fat man can persist. But if I walk down, what I see in my eyes is the deep gorge that makes me tremble. If I don't pay attention, I fall down and fall, even the corpse will not be recovered. However, the bird path will go up and down, and there will be no fixed number.

At the end of the bird path that was about to turn nine steps, a strange and unfathomable tunnel appeared on the mountain wall. I climbed in first, and connected the other four people one by one. Then I carefully looked at the situation in the cave. The fog was heavy, and I couldn't breathe smoothly. There were traces of stone mother in the rock formation, which was completely different from the Qingxi air-raid tunnel before. It should be an ancient tunnel, and I don't know where to go.

I was not sure whether this road was correct. Maybe I turned the wrong path on the cliff just now, and I couldn't help but feel a little dazed. I held the wolf's eyes and flashlight in it for a few steps. Suddenly I saw a tombstone standing next to me. A dead body was sitting cross-legged in front of the monument. My face and clothes were weathered, and my flesh had been dissolved. I don't know how long I had been dead. I quickly called Master Sun Jiu behind me to come over and let him see if this was the body of Commander Feng.

When Master Sun Jiu saw the mummy, he immediately felt a little excited. He trembled and put on a mask and gloves, and held the deceased's head up and looked carefully: "Not like...Not like..., I remember that before the abscond, Captain Feng was injured in a quarry and had several teeth knocked off. The corpse had relatively complete teeth. It should not be Lao Feng, but who is this person? No... Come and see what this is?"

We thought Professor Sun was talking about the "nameless corpse". Just as we were about to see it, we heard Professor Sun say, "It's not a mummy, it's this tombstone, it's indeed a signpost to Dixian Village."

I was excited and quickly lifted the "unknown corpse" with the fat man. I saw that there was no name on the tombstone that was originally blocked by the dead corpse. Instead, there were five vigorous concave words with "Fingering the Mountain" engraved with "Survey on the Mountain" and several lines of small characters on both sides. I glanced at it and it was the hint of looking for the ancient tomb: "What a great king, he has a body but no head; if his wife doesn't come, the mountains will not open..."
