Chapter 341 Let go(1/2)

The Buddha's son Wuzhai was abandoned in the Wenshu Hall of Pratyekabuddha Temple in the winter of the tenth year of Jianing. There were only a string of stars, moon, and Bodhi, one hundred and eight.

Wu Zhai recited the Heart Sutra silently at the age of three, and recited the Middle Sutra silently at the age of seven, and learned it by his teacher. Originally, it was a wisdom leader that was rare in a century in Pratyekabuddha Temple, but he refused to take the precepts of monks and went out to travel at the age of twelve to argue with the Taoist court.

He had been away for seven years. When he returned to Pratyekabuddha Temple again, he had already won back seventeen Taoist temples and 33,000 acres of fertile land for Buddhism. Everyone in the world knows that Wuzhai has three questions, one is about breaking the sutra, two is about breaking the appearance, and three is about breaking the heart.

But in the winter of the 31st year of Jianing, Wuzhai led 108 Shami to cross the south of Luocheng and participated in the cultural meeting at Luhun Villa at the foot of Daoting of Laojun Mountain, hoping to win a game at the foot of Taoist ancestral mountain.

This debate has attracted worldwide attention.

Before Wuzhai left, more than a hundred Chinese-Chinese sons in Beijing wrote poems and essays outside Yongding Gate, such as "The Introduction to the Qingniu Listening to the Sutra", "Sending Master Wuzhai to the South Expedition to Luhun", "Po Xuan Ge", etc., which were full of anger.

But in such a grand journey to the south, Wuzhai lost to an unknown young man in Luhun Villa with "no self, no self, and no self".

When Wuzhai came back, he quietly entered Beijing. Half a month later, when the storytellers in the capital began to tell the story of Luhun Villa, everyone knew what was going on.

At this moment, Qi Zhenwu, Qi Zhaoning, Shen Ye and others realized that the person who won Wuzhai at the beginning was in Mingse Tower.

And it is the one who knew nothing about everything before.

It was the first time Qi Zhenjue heard about this. He widened his eyes and looked at Chen Ji, and said in surprise: "Master, why haven't you heard from you?"

Chen Ji said sincerely: "You can only seem unfathomable if you say it yourself, but only if you say it from others."

Considering together: "..."

In the main hall of Mingse Building, everyone looked at Wuzhai and Chen Ji. They couldn't speak for a while, and the sound of the pipa had already stopped.

Wuzhai held the Xingyue Bodhi in his hand and looked at Chen Ji: "It just happened that we met in Wenwen today. Why would the donor argue with me again?"

Chen Ji smiled and pointed at Shen Ye, Huang Que, and Lin Chaojing: "Buddhist son, we are holding a poetry meeting. Compared to the debate, I still prefer poetry meetings."

Lin Chaojing frowned slightly, when did you like poetry lessons? Haven’t you been eating all the time?

But Wuzhai smiled and said, "Poetry must be inspired by feelings before it can be spiritual. If it is just a rule of one hundred and six rhymes and tones and random propositions as its roots, then it will be just a phonological game. Wouldn't it be 'using the truth with the vulgarity'? Such a vulgar thing is not enough to play with."

Chen Ji looked at Lin Chaojing innocently: "Did you hear it? It's better not to play."

He lowered his head and shoulders and shook his head and shoulders, and Xiaoman snorted.

Lin Chaojing's expression darkened, and he explained to Wuzhai: "Son of Buddha, no matter how we persuaded Chen Ji, he refused to attend the poetry meeting or write poetry, and was ridiculed by us. Now he is messing with your words, and ridiculing us in turn, so don't fall into his tricks."

Wuzhai suddenly realized: "So that's it...but this poem will indeed be of no use."

Chen Ji laughed and clasped his fists and said loudly: "Master Wuzhai is of great insight!"

Wuzhai ignored Lin Chaojing's expression and turned to look at Chen Ji: "Donor Chen Ji, I wonder if you have ever thought about my proposal after leaving Luhun Villa?"

Chen Ji picked up a piece of No. 1 picker cake: "What proposal?"

Wuzhai picked up the Buddhist beads and smiled: "I see that the donor has Buddha nature, can I wish to enter my Buddhist sect?"

Chen Ji chewed the priest cake and said, "The Buddha's son misunderstood. I don't have Buddha nature."

Wuzhai sincerely said: "All sentient beings have Buddha nature. Even if Yi Ya'ai has Buddha nature, they can become Buddhas."

Chen Ji asked casually: "If someone slaughtered a city and killed 100,000 people, can this person become a Buddha?"

Wuzhai's expression turned solemn, and even the candlelight that was originally shaking in Mingse Building seemed to be stationary. He ignored the doubtful eyes of everyone around him, walked to Chen Ji, and sat down cross-legged behind the table that originally belonged to Lin Chaojing. When he sat down, his moon-white robe rose up, like a lotus in bloom.

The red carpet of the velvet divides the main hall into two, and only Chen Ji and Wu Zhai sit opposite each other in the empty seat.

Under the glorious candlelight, one person had a moon-white monk's robe and the other had a black robe. They were neither sad nor happy, as if they were destined to be rivals.

The little monk Luo Zhui Saga suddenly said, "It's beginning."

It was not until this moment that others realized that the debate between Chen Ji and Wuzhai had begun.

Wuzhai sat cross-legged behind the table, hanging his hands with Xingyue Bodhi, and put his hands together, and said sincerely: "Donor Chen Ji, for the little monk, the heavy snow in Luhun Villa that day has never stopped, and it has been falling until today."

Chen Ji seemed a little dazed and sighed softly: "For me, the heavy snow in Luocheng has never stopped."

Shen Ye picked up his clothes, looked for an empty table ten feet away from the two of them, sat down, picked up his pen and wrote.

A literati said curiously: "What did Brother Shen do?"

Shen Ye pointed to Chen Ji and Wuzhai: "Of course, I will record all the debates today. You guys, this is the second debate between them. No matter who loses and who wins, it will spread throughout the capital tomorrow. Isn't it a privilege to be there? Later generations will see the whole story of this debate, maybe I will remember that it was recorded by me, Shen Ye. Sorry, I will take the lead and take advantage of this good thing."

Qi Jingwu looked at the old traces meaningfully.

The Buddha's son Wuzhai argued with others and was always known for asking questions and breaking his mind. If he asked questions, he had prepared countless arguments to prove you.

The 108 stars, moon, Bodhi in the hand, and the rosary beads will cause nine hundred thoughts to be born and die.

But now, Chen Ji did not give Wu Zhai any chance to ask questions. He borrowed only one small matter and brought Wu Zhai into the debate and became the questioner.

Wuzhai pulled the Buddhist beads in his hand, and suddenly stopped when he reached a certain one, and said calmly: "Answer the donor's question, can the evil man become a Buddha even if he slaughtered a city? "The Mysterious Meaning of Guanyin" says that evil people stop practicing good and constantly be good; Buddha stop practicing evil and constantly be evil. Donor, evil people just do evil things, which does not mean that there is no good in nature. The Buddha cultivates himself but does not do evil things, which does not mean that there is no evil in his heart."

Chen Ji said very quickly: "Buddhist says good will be rewarded, and evil will be rewarded. If evil people can become Buddhas, where is the cause and effect?"

Wuzhai replied calmly: "Becoming a Buddha is one's own enlightenment and sudden enlightenment, not the reward and good reward of the ten directions of the world. Buddha is not as great as humans. Donor, becoming a Buddha is not a good reward."

Shen Ye whispered: "Wonderful!"

Before Qi Zhaoning could understand the wonders of this answer, Chen Ji no longer knelt down, but instead held the bamboo mat with his left hand, sat down obliquely and joked: "Son of Buddha, since I already have Buddha nature, why do you need to practice again?"

Wuzhai pulled a rosary and replied: "Buddha nature is like a hidden gold in a mine. Although it is covered, it is already complete. Our practice is just a process of digging out Buddha nature."

Chen Ji picked up a piece of the top scholar cake and stuffed it into his mouth: "Since Buddhism says that all things are empty, where does the gold in your mine come from?"

Wuzhai touched another rosary: "The donor is sophistry. The gold storage in the mine is just a metaphor, and Buddha nature is the possibility of enlightenment, not entity, and is the same as emptiness."

Chen Ji smiled and sat upright: "Since all things are empty and sentient beings have no self, why do Buddhas still save all sentient beings? Isn't it a doctor to save the people in the dream?"

Everyone was shocked.

It's selfless again.

After a debate in Luhun Villa, the word "no self" almost became Wuzhai's heartbroken. Now that Chen Ji has reminisced about Wuself, he has to cheer up.

Time passed by bit by bit Qi Zhaoning asked his brother in a low voice: "What do they mean by saying this? Why don't the Buddhist son talk?"

Qi Zhenwu frowned and said, "Silence!"

Everyone in Mingse Tower held their breath and knew that the debate had reached a clear point.

Wu Zhai closed his eyes and pulled more than ten beads before he slowly answered: "The donor asked the Buddha why he still wanted to save all sentient beings. The "Avatamsaka Sutra" says that with a worldly mind, you can enter the world with your heart of transcendence. Before you transcend, you must enter the world with your whole heart even though you know that you are empty."

Chen Ji laughed: "Since there is no self, who is saving all living beings, who is accumulating good deeds and cultivating reincarnation, and who is transcending and becoming a Buddha?"

Wuzhai suddenly opened his eyes.

Everyone also looked solemn. The Buddha's son Wuzhai was defeated by this question in Luhun Villa, and this question pointed directly at the foundation of Buddhism's absorption of believers and could not be answered at all.

Chen Ye sighed lightly: "One method is used to argue with all the laws. It seems that Brother Chen Ji has been planning to use this question to suppress Buddhism for three hundred years."

Qi Zhaoning looked in front of him in a daze, as if Li Changge and Buddha son were right in front of him, as if the real Four Dreams of Bianliang were right in front of him.

Past, present, future.

Like an illusory bubble, or like dew and lightning.

However, at this moment, Wuzhai picked up the Buddhist bead and replied with a smile: "Chen Ji, donor, greed, anger, and thoughts form 'I'. Everyone in the world wants the silver and money to return to 'I', beauties to return to 'I', and authority to 'I', this is a stumbling block to enlightenment. Doing good and virtue is to give out what you are obsessed with and cut off from yourself. The donor, Buddhists teach people to accumulate good deeds not to cultivate blessings in the next life, but to cut off greed, anger, ignorance and self-attachment, achieve no self, and all things are empty."

Chen Ye, who was recording the debate, looked up in shock and stopped the brush in his hand for several months. Wuzhai actually made up for this question!

No wonder Wuzhai still dared to fight calmly when he saw Chen Ji. I wonder how long Wuzhai had been waiting for this day.

Everyone looked at Chen Ji.

Qi Zhaoyun whispered: "Zhaoning, this time, Li Changge is going to lose."

In the silence, Chen Ji slowly stood up and stepped across the red carpet to stand in front of Wuzhai Table.

The candlelight in Mingse Tower cast his figure on Wuzhai, and Wuzhai could only look up.

Chen Ji asked calmly: "What is selfless?"

Wu Zhai is not sad or happy and pinchs the rosary: "The past heart cannot be obtained, the present heart cannot be obtained, and the future heart cannot be obtained."

Chen Ji asked again: "Why do we need to cultivate selflessness?"

Wuzhai replied again: "All actions are impermanent, all dharmas have no self, Nirvana and nirvana are extinct. Donor, only by letting go of self-attachment can you see through the truth in this world. When you lose the obsession of "I" in your heart, others scold you, insult you, and slander you, how can you have troubles?"

Chen Ye's writing harder and heavier.

Buddhist doctrines are a process of continuous replenishment. From dependent origination, selflessness to emptiness, from emptiness to Alaya consciousness, they are all supplements made by generations of eminent monks to the doctrine, in order to make themselves impeccable.

Wuzhai is getting more and more harmonious this time.

The thought of "no self" has no flaws.

But the next moment, Chen Ji smiled: "Who is defying me without me?"

Wuzhai was stunned.

Who is defying selflessness? I.

Qi Jingjing asked in confusion: "What does it mean? Why didn't Wuzhai speak and was denied again?"

"It's wonderful," Chen Ye took a deep breath and explained with a smile: "Last time, Chen Ji's brother jumped out of the selflessness and pointed directly at the foundation of the Buddhist believers. Now Wu Zhai has come up with a way to deal with it. So Chen Ji jumped out of the selflessness again and pointed directly at Wu Zhai's behavior of seeking people to argue with the scriptures: Since there is no self and no form, since all things are empty, then debate and seeking to win is also an obsession, and distracting thoughts should be cut off."

"Wuzhai has been arguing for many years in the disputes between Buddhism and Taoism, and has seized the inheritance of the Taoist court, and has been wailing everywhere. It is far from the true meaning of Buddhism and Taoism. If he really practices selflessness, he should not argue or argue."

"If Wuzhai insists on saying no self, it will prove that what he has done over the years is wrong. After that, every time he argues with others, he will make another mistake."
