Chapter 28 Starting with Flyers(1/2)

Zaun?

The second inventor of Hex Technology, the deputy leader of the Hex Technology Application Research Group, a top scholar who ranks among the top three in the entire Piltover scientific community... is actually a Zaun?

"No, it's impossible..."

The two Piltover ladies both opened their mouths in disbelief.

Even many Zuan students present could not accept this shocking fact for a while.

But Victor was very determined. For the first time in his life, he stood unabashedly in the public eye and declared to everyone unabashedly: "Yes, I am a Zaun!"

"You two, you should apologize." Victor repeated it word for word.

But the aunts still stood there stubbornly, as if there was some invisible force supporting them, making them never let go of their pride as Mrs. Piltover.

But Victor destroyed their pride with one sentence:

"Please sincerely apologize——"

"Otherwise, I will directly contact my teacher, Principal Heimerdinger, and expel both of you."

"No!" The aunts immediately panicked: "I apologize...we apologize!"

"Yeah...sorry!"

"Please be more sincere!"

"Yes, sorry, we were wrong!"

"Louder, no one can hear you." Very rarely, Victor also deliberately made things difficult for others.

But the two aunts have completely lost their previous stubbornness. They are as honest as a Zaun student.

No matter how difficult it was for Victor, they just shouted harder and harder every time: "I'm sorry!"

"You go!" Victor finally spared them: "I will let everyone collect the remaining stationery on their own."

"Yes..." As if they were granted amnesty, the two aunts immediately ran away in despair with their tails between their legs.

Only a group of shocked and stunned Zaan students were left:

They...won?

Mrs. Piltover, apologized to them?

The students in Zu'an were all excited.

Some of them cheered loudly, some clenched their fists in excitement, and their reactions were mixed.

But everyone looked at the man on the steps with gratitude and admiration:

"Professor Victor!"

It turns out that the people of Zaun are not inherently inferior to the people of Piltover. They are not born to be scolded as "barbaric", "low quality", and "have no innovative spirit".

The Zuan people also have wisdom, civilization, and can lead scientific progress. They are such great and proud people!

It turns out that the Zaun people have always been active in the upper levels of Piltover, which they never dared to imagine!

"Professor Victor, thank you!"

"Professor Victor——"

"You are really the pride of our Zaun people!"

Such sounds rang out from the crowd.

Victor did not enjoy the admiration of these students, but asked: "Everyone, please be quiet..."

"Why do you say that I am the pride of the Zaun people?"

"Huh?" The students of Zaan, who were passionate for the first time, did not expect that Victor would ask them such a question.

Why?

Of course, it's because there are tens of thousands of Zaunites, and there are tens of millions of Zaunites working hard in Piltover, so only a top scientist like Victor can achieve such achievements.

If they are not proud of Victor's appearance, who should they be proud of?

"No, you are wrong." Victor shook his head: "I can tell you a secret that is not a secret -"

"At Piltover University alone, at least one-fifth of the scholars and professors you see are Zaun immigrants from across the canal."

"Wha, what?" The students' eyes widened in surprise.

There are so many Zaans among the school’s professors?

But why...they usually don't feel the care from professors or the school, but are discriminated against and ostracized everywhere?

Why do all the professors from Zu'an look so much like Piltover people? Why does no one come forward to admit it, or even make it difficult to tell which one of them is from Zu'an?

"Because they, including me -"

"We all appear to be Zaun, your 'own people'. But in fact we are not."

"So we don't have to speak out for you. I don't have to stand up today - just like I have done for the past ten years."

"Standing up for you will not only do me no good, but will only harm my interests. This is because we are no longer 'one of our own'."

Victor suddenly said something puzzling.

The students gradually couldn't understand it.

"Think about it again," Victor asked seductively: "Those two vulgar ladies just now, they think they are the noble Mrs. Piltover, and they think the people of Piltover should be better than Gao Zuan——"

"But why, when faced with the deliberate difficulties and even the rude humiliation of me, a Zaunite, do these two Piltover people have no temper at all and dare not speak?"

"Think about it carefully, me and them, me and you, them and you, me and those big shots in Piltover, who is the one who belongs to whom?"

"This..." This is a bit confusing.

But the students of Zu'an, who had personally experienced the turmoil just now and were generally good at thinking, gradually figured out something:

Why are they afraid of Mother Piltover?

That's because they are afraid of causing trouble and being expelled from the school's senior management, rather than really being afraid of any aunt.

Why is Auntie afraid of Professor Victor?

Because Professor Victor himself is a high-ranking member of the school, the aunts are like grasshoppers that can be easily crushed to death in front of him.

"I understand..." Someone among the students realized something.

"Tell me about it?" Victor encouraged the students to speak as if he were giving an open class: "What did you think of?"

Just listen to the student's reply: "Professor Victor, you are educating us. There is no need to feel inferior to our status as Zaans."

"As long as we study hard, study hard, stand out and climb to high positions like you, even those Mrs. Piltover will have to look up to us in the future!"

Victor: "..."

He hesitated to say something, but before he could speak, someone else gave an answer.

It's Lina.

She recalled everything she had experienced, thinking about the questions raised by Victor, and finally vaguely noticed something:

"Professor Victor, you may want to tell us:"

“Whether we are close or not, whether we are one of our own, maybe it’s not based on region, but based on...status?”

"Those Zuan professors are usually unwilling to stand up and speak for us, nor are they willing to show their identity as Zuan. In fact, it is because... they are already rich people in Pi City, not poor people in Zaun.

"

"The Piltover people's discrimination against the Zaun people usually doesn't fall on them. Even if it does, it won't have much impact on their good life..."

This point of view was so novel that it immediately set off a wave of discussion at the scene.

So someone soon discovered something was wrong:

"Classmate Lina, according to you, we should be closer to those two Piltover aunts, right?"

"But why is it Professor Victor, who is a big shot, who stands up to speak for us, while the one who makes things difficult for us is Aunt Piltover, who is no better than us?"

"Uh..." Lina suddenly lost her temper.

She couldn't answer a question of this level.

"You have answered well, Lina." Suddenly, Victor smiled at her encouragingly: "It seems that you have indeed read the article in your notebook carefully."

"Huh?" Lina was surprised.

At this time, Victor slowly opened his briefcase, took out a notebook, and solemnly handed it back to Lina's hand.

"This is... my thesis design?" Lina finally remembered the business: "Professor Victor, are you... here to inform me of the results of the discussion yesterday, last night?"

Victor was suddenly silent.

And this silence said it all.

Lina's face suddenly turned pale, and the hope that had just been ignited in her eyes was extinguished.

But Victor told her: "Don't be discouraged, Lina."
To be continued...
