Chapter 27 Beating

In Carl's office, Evan dialed the phone turntable and made two calls.

I called the official residence and welcomed Carlson to the evening. I couldn’t go home for dinner. I had to notify Nina, which was my son’s duty.

Call a gift shop in San Francisco. This shop can customize the products, and the music box for the governor and his wife comes from here.

The store has good skills, and Evan placed another order and became a repeat customer.

After verbally explaining his request, Evan hung up the phone after arguing the delivery time.

Bang!

Things went so well, Evan snapped his fingers happily.

Well, the snap of your fingers is so crisp and skillful, and you are almost accustomed to movements.

After walking out of the office, Evan greeted Carl, who was chatting happily with Jane, and said, "Hey! Carl, let's go!"

"Jane, be careful, Carl loves your bowling!"

Hearing Evan's words, Jane subconsciously covered her chest with her hands and looked at Carl vigilantly.

Carl's face turned dark and he ended his conversation with Jane in a hurry, then gritted his teeth and followed Evan.

"Bang!"

Carl closed the car door vigorously and made a loud noise. Evan had already sat in the passenger seat. Carl looked at him expressionlessly, twisting the car keys while complaining: "Hey, Evan, did you do it on purpose?"

"It will ruin good things."

Evan said for granted: "I am just saving ignorant women and pulling someone out of the river of desire."

Carl said angrily: "Then should I say thank you?"

Evan waved his hand: "No, this is what I should do."

Carl was speechless and decided not to speak and drove silently.

A few minutes later, Model91 stopped to the side of the road.

This is the intersection of Eleventh Street and I Street (by the way, in the street naming rules of Sacramento, numbers represent north-south directions, and letters represent east-west directions). A 226-foot-high (less than 70 meters) building stands on the roadside.

Evan got off the car first, and Carl followed without saying a word.

Evan stood in front of the building, looked at Carl beside him, and said quietly: "I forgot to answer just now, Carl, I did it on purpose."

"The company prohibits internal employees from dating, especially between superiors and subordinates."

"I want to add this rule to the company's articles of association."

"Do you have any objections? Carl!"

Carl stood there for a while, and did not ask why, but lowered his head slightly and said respectfully: "Your will is my opinion."

"Very good!" Evan smiled satisfied and walked into the building lightly.

After watching Evan enter the building, Carl turned back into the car.

He had to pick up Carlson and his group.

The building is called "Elks Tower", which is the tallest building in Lower Sacramento nowadays. Its founder and owner is an organization called "Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE). Just listening to the name, many people mistakenly think that this is an animal protection organization, but in fact it is a famous fraternity organization in the United States, with members of the order of millions of magnitude across the United States. The Elks Tower is the place where Elks Brotherhood members gather, but it is open to the public, providing rooms, restaurants, swimming pools, bathrooms, conference rooms, billiards rooms and other service facilities.

The restaurant booked by Carl is on the 14th floor.

Taking the old-fashioned elevator, Evan guided down to the restaurant by the waiter.

Less than half an hour later, Carlson and his group arrived. Evan showed his master's attitude and warmly received them.

The dinner was prepared very richly, the atmosphere on the table was very harmonious, and the guests and hosts were having fun. It was just because Evan was not yet an adult, and although he had served the wine, everyone just stopped paying for it.

At around eight o'clock, the banquet dispersed. Evan asked Carl to drive Carlson and the other two back, but he didn't get in the car himself and planned to walk home.

Although I didn't drink much, Evan still didn't want to squeeze in the small space with them to breathe the alcohol-smelling air.

Moreover, the Elk Tower is indeed very close to the governor's residence. Evan only needs to turn one corner, walk less than 800 meters, and it takes only a few minutes to go.

It just happens to eliminate food.

Then, after walking less than a hundred meters, Evan regretted it.

Sacramento is quite cold at night.

Riding on the evening breeze, Evan returned to the official residence. Entering the house, the warm breath made Evan scream comfortably.

It was Nina who opened the door for Evan. She was wearing pajamas and her hair was wrapped in a towel, as if she had just finished her bath.

The first floor was very quiet. Evan didn't hear the joking sounds of his younger brothers and sisters, thinking that they were probably driven back to their room.

This is the era of poor entertainment. Children sleep early and adults go to bed early. Unlike later, they are all night owls and don’t go to bed until two in the morning.

Nina poured Evan a cup of hot water and asked casually: "What's the result? You haven't drunk?"

Nina knew that Evan sold $500,000 inventories and invested in Carlson. It was Evan who told her. For this reason, she was extremely proud and distressed. Pride was of course. Her children could not be that ordinary people could do, and Nina, as a mother, was naturally proud. As for the distress, it was because Nina always felt that Evan had started a company at this age, which was too early. Nina thought of asking Evan to sell the company, and less involved in Alphabet in the future, and focused more on learning. But her husband Earl stopped her.

"Evan is no longer a child!"

This is what Earl said when he persuaded Nina.

Nina thought for a long time and finally decided to listen to her husband.

Of course, although Nina promised to let Evan do what he liked, some of the requests were not relaxed.

For example, before adulthood, you are not allowed to drink, stay away at night, smoke, or smoke leaves.

This is Nina's consistent requirement for the children.

"Thank you, Nina! Everything goes well!" Evan took the water cup and replied, "They have drunk the wine, I don't. Don't believe me, you smell it?"

As he said that Evan wanted to deliver his face to Nina.

Nina pushed Evan away with disgust, "Okay, I believe you, don't make a fuss, hurry up and take a shower."

"As for orders, sir!" Evan put down the water cup, saluted Nina in a funny way, and then walked up the stairs in three steps.

Nina growled behind her, "Be careful!"

Evan walked up to the second floor with a brisk pace, and was startled by Linda who was waiting at the door of Virginia's room early.

"Evan, you're back. You're not here today. What are you doing?"

"Yo! Linda, you're still here!" Evan greeted first, and then said vaguely: "Nothing is done!"

"It's getting late, you can go to bed quickly, I'll go upstairs."

After saying that, before Linda could reply, Evan went up to the third floor as if he ran away.

Linda frowned in disappointment, stomped her feet and turned back to the room, looking at Virginia who was trying to "cuck" at the desk. She asked, "Virginia, can you talk to me about Audrey again?"

Virginia paused in her hand after hearing this, then sighed, turned to look at Linda, and said, "Linda, I've told you everything I know."

"Linda, promise me that you don't go to trouble Audrey against our agreement. Believe me, if you do this, you will not only not reap the love you want, but also lose the friendship between us."

Linda looked at the extremely serious Virginia, nodded and said, "I promise I won't!"
