Chapter 324

After watching Davidson walk into the sleeper car, Evan left the platform and returned to Inglewood.

The next conversation will happen there.

Ingwood, a small area, unknowingly, has become a concentration site for the Warren-based presidents and is also one of the candidates for headquarters currently with high demand.

This made Evan feel that time passes so quickly and that things in the world are so impermanent.

The only reason Evan promised Carl to settle the company in Inglewood was that the small building, which was the cheapest as an office.

Back in Ingwood, Evan's first visit was Carl.

"As soon as Wells and the others moved away, it was indeed empty." Evan smiled into Carl's office; "Even your office looks much wider."

Carl walked out from behind the wide mahogany desk, looked at Evan, pointed to the transparent glass exterior and said, "I think it's the relationship between this thing."

“The actual area is the same as before.”

"As you said, I can observe the outside very well after installing it, no one dares to be lazy." Carl glanced at the office area where the glass wall was enough, which showed a scene of busy business.

Carl's gaze stopped for less than a second before retracting, and turned to Evan, "Just parted with Davidson?"

Like Evan's habit, Carl's office also has a small living room for welcoming guests, a high-end sofa, a low coffee table, and a cabinet with tea leaves and alcoholic beverages of various degrees.

Well, in fact, this habit is not only Carl.

Evan walked to the small living room, sat on the nearest sofa, and said, "Yes."

"I only realized that he doesn't like planes just like me... I hope he can have a pleasant journey."

Evan glanced at the transparent wall: "I said casually, but I didn't expect you to take it seriously. Is this glass Corning's?"

"Yes, high-strength, not fragile...and high-price." Carl sat opposite Evan, looked at him strangely, and said, "Fortunately, the effect was good, otherwise I would have been spent in vain and used as an exhibit in the museum."

Evan smiled and shook his head and said, "No, you should be glad that Roy (the head of the audit department of the Alphabet Group) had not started with you for the first comprehensive audit."

Carl thought for a while, smiled embarrassedly, and said, "You're right."

"When it comes to Roy, Evan, why not send him to the Council? I believe the position of head of the audit department is enough to get him the qualification of a director."

Evan said: "The position is enough, but he hasn't passed the inspection period yet... Let's wait for him to achieve his achievements first."

"Score...it's very simple for him." Carl leaned his back on the soft sofa and said enviously: "As long as he is serious and smart enough."

"I hope he is a smart guy." Evan waved his hand, "Okay, let's not talk about Roy."

"Carl, let's talk about the serious business." Evan changed his tone, looked at the other party, and asked, "What did you think about acquiring the hospital?"

"I haven't heard you say it before!"

"I suddenly added this to the application health care plan yesterday, and I didn't say hello in advance, so I can only refuse."

"I'm sorry!" Carl apologized first, and then explained: "Actually, I'm just going to make a decision."

"Having a hospital of our own can play a special role in many places, such as pharmaceutical development... You know, the promotion of new drugs must be accepted by the first batch of customers..."

"Wait..." Evan interrupted: "Do you want to acquire a hospital to be a new drug test site?"

"Uh, although I don't want to admit it, this is really my idea." Carl nodded.

Evan looked at Carl with a blank expression, and after a while of silence, he said, "Carl, you are even colder than I thought. You are indeed a lawyer."

Carl just pretended that he had not heard the irony in Evan's words and replied: "Evan, no matter what medicine, if you want to clarify the effect, you have to go through this step."

"It becomes very easy to find a voluntary patient with obedient doctor..."

"Maybe you're right..." Evan asked, "But, our institute has just started to move. Now... don't you think it's too early?"

"A little bit..." Carl shrugged, "So, I didn't stick to it yesterday."

"However, if you agree with me, I think it's better to acquire earlier than to acquire later."

"After all, hospitals are not that easy to acquire. If there is no good acquisition target, we can open one by ourselves."

Evan nodded slightly, as if agreeing with Carl's statement.

"Is there a legal risk for opening a hospital for pharmaceutical companies?"

"No!" Carl shook his head and said, "Are you afraid that the Justice Department will target it? No, unless we can be as successful as Paramount in Hollywood."

Evan thought for a while and said, "Since that's the case, you can re-add it to your work plan."

"First examine the target and the money issue, let's talk about it later."

"learn."

"Ah, it's almost twelve o'clock." Evan raised his hand and looked at the time, slapped his thigh, stood up, and said, "Let's have lunch together."

"Honest is so great. Do you want to call Miss Spraul?"

...

In the afternoon, Evan went to Applied Physical Systems and Xerox, talked about the transistor radio with Wells, and talked about the next upgrade route of the photocopier.

At around six o'clock in the evening, Evan returned to his warm home in the cold wind.

Audrey has already prepared a hot dinner on the winter vacation.

"Dear, the Christmas gifts you asked me to prepare are already ready, except mine." Audrey and Evan sat opposite each other under the warm yellow lights of the restaurant.

"Thank you." Evan took a sip of the hot soup and compared Audrey's thumb. After the stimulation brought by the hot soup was relieved, he looked at Audrey and said, "Thank you for your hard work."

"No, this is what I should do." Audrey shook her head, then showed a look of wanting to speak but stopping.

Seeing this, Evan smiled and said, "Dear, are you disappointed in not being able to go back to Sacramento for Christmas with me?"

He stretched out his empty left hand and covered Audrey's right hand that was placed on the table, and said, "I said, you don't have to care."

"I can understand that Christmas should be with your family, and Joseph is your closest family besides me."

"Oh, Evan, you really don't know what to say." Audrey looked at Evan affectionately.

Evan smiled and said, "You don't need to say anything. Just keep it a secret for me and don't tell Doroth and the others in advance what gift I bought."

Audrey remembered the gift list Evan gave, smiled softly, and nodded.

After a while, Audrey suddenly remembered something, "Dear, I almost forgot. I received a call at around five o'clock, which was called by Leiden..."
