579. Letter from Jobs (Chapter 3)(2/2)

Jobs was going to invite Yo-Yo Ma to play cello for himself at his wedding, but unfortunately, Yo-Yo Ma had a performance task that time, but failed to get what he wanted.

A few years later, Yo-Yo Ma came to his home and in his living room, playing Bach's repertoire for Jobs with his famous 1733 Stradivari cello, and Jobs burst into tears.

(This cello was once owned by the very famous legendary cello player Dupree. Interested book friends can search. Here I recommend a movie related to her, called "She is lonely than fireworks")

In addition to being the head of Apple, Jobs is also a famous classical music enthusiast. Listening to classical music is his indispensable daily class.

Jobs' iPod contains classical music and some Bach's tracks.

Bach is his favorite classical musician. In addition to Bach, Jobs also has 3 albums by Yo-Yo Ma in his ipod.

It is no exaggeration to say that without the hobby of classical music, Jobs would probably not have such great interest in making ipods; without ipods, of course there would be no itunes; without itunes, how could there be future iPhones, iPads......

In addition to Yo-Yo Ma, another musician that Jobs likes is Gould.

Like all Gould fans, Jobs was obsessed with listening and analyzing the comparison of Gould's 1955 and 1981 versions of the Gothenburg Variations.

He didn't explicitly state which version he preferred, just said he used to like the earlier version, but now he can "feel everything he's going through between performances".

Jobs once commented on two versions like this: "They are like day and night. The first version is full of enthusiasm, young and energetic, and plays very quickly, like a god's show; while the second version is simpler and has a clear theme. You can feel a soul with rich experience, deeper and more wisdom."

If Gould was still alive, he would probably be on Jobs' invitation list, but unfortunately Gould was a person from the last century.

...

At the Jobs memorial service held at Stanford University Church, Yo-Yo Ma played Bach's a cappella cello suite.

When the music started, everyone on the scene burst into tears.

Although Cao Yang and Pei Siqing do not understand classical music very much, music is the common language of mankind. In the words of Jobs, he did not believe that there was a God in this world, but after listening to Yo-Yo Ma's cello, he understood-

What else can prove God's existence better than Yo-Yo Ma's cello?

Infected by the surrounding atmosphere, perhaps because Yo-you Ma's performance was so good and too affectionate, Cao Yang and Pei Siqing were also in tears.

This was the first time Miss Mining saw Cao Yang crying so sadly.

"Don't be sad," Pei Siqing handed him a tissue and comforted him, "You must have a good relationship with him, and it will be uncomfortable for an important friend to leave."

Although she didn't know how deep the relationship between Cao Yang and Jobs was, seeing him crying like this, the two must be very, very good friends, right?

“I just think…

After Jobs passed away, who else in this world can become my opponent?"

"Why?"

Pei Siqing suddenly stopped crying.

...

Fortunately, there were no Chinese people on the scene except for Yo-Yo Ma who was concentrating on playing, so they couldn't understand what Cao Yang said meant.

If it was photographed by the media, it would become an amazing explosion news the next day.

Miss Mining raised her hand angrily and pounded it gently on his arm.

When is it still in a mood to joke?

If others hear it, you should say how arrogant you are!

But she didn't know that Cao Yang was talking about his thoughts at this time.

Once Jobs dies, Apple's creativity will decline sharply in the future, or it will stagnate, and it will be difficult to create products that are creative that can shock the whole world.

It can be said that Jobs is the soul of Apple.

...

After a while, almost everyone arrived. The church was full of people. Everyone was mourning next to Jobs' body, and the memorial service was officially held.

Jobs's wife, Ms. Lauren, said at the memorial service:

“Thank you all for coming here for the memorial service of my husband Steve Jobs.

Steve has been suffering from pancreatic cancer for almost 8 years, and he has been living a very hard life during this period.

But he still devoted all his time to his career, family, and everything he loved and loved.

Steve is strong in the face of the disease.

But at the end, God still took him away.

Steve passed away peacefully early this morning, accompanied by his family.

When he died, there was no pain on Steve's face.

There is also wonderful music accompanying him.

In his public life, Steve is often called a visionary man; in his private life, he cherishes his family.

We would like to thank many people for their care and prayers during Jobs' illness last year. A mourning website will be launched later to express condolences to those who hope to mourn and recall.

We thank those who have given their feelings, supported and loved Steve, and we know that many of you will be mourning with us, and hope that you can respect our privacy in this sad time.

Next I will read a letter written by my husband during his lifetime, which my husband asked me to read to those he wanted to thank at his memorial service.”

Ms. Lauren unfolded another piece of letter paper and read:

"Thanks Tim Cook, thanks for your extraordinary talent and selfless dedication to the company, Apple would not have grown so well without you.

Although I always scold you and may be mean in language, I know that we all have a common goal, which is to make Apple the greatest company in the world.

grateful……"
