【21】The face outside the door
Erlaizi limped back to the village with a stick and rubbed against the ground. When the villagers saw Erlaizi, they pointed at him.
"Why didn't you beat Er Laizi to death?"
"The fight was still light, and he was honest because he never dared to steal it again."
"The two Laizi suffered from it themselves. If I had known this day, why would it be the first time?"
"I'm in a big trouble with him."
Er Laizi left expressionlessly, and the villagers' discussions, word by word, word by word, heart, he didn't want to refute at all. He himself felt that he was such a person and was helpless.
Before going home, Er Laizi came to Wu Daguang's house. The people watching the fun in the village followed Er Laizi. No one knew why Er Laizi came to Wu Daguang's house. The villagers didn't know that Er Laizi would come to help Wu Daguang push carts every day, so they unanimously believed that he was here to find fault.
"Er Laizi, you don't even look at your virtues. You also want to come to Daguang's house to make trouble and not pee at yourself."
"We should drive such a rascal out of the village."
Erlaizi bit his back groove, clenched his fists, and shouted: "Get out."
The villagers were stunned for a moment, then laughed: "What did Er Laizi say? Let's get out. Just his half-dead look, let's live this winter."
Wu Daguang could hear clearly in the yard. He didn't care. Some people would never wake up from being scolded.
The villagers continued to mock: "Let's go, you're dead, what else do you want to steal Daguang's family?"
Er Laizi ignored it and walked towards Wu Daguang's yard with a stick. A villager immediately came to stop Er Laizi: "You really dare to enter with so many eyes looking at you."
The villagers started by you and I pushed Er Laizi back with one hand. For so many years, who has not hated Er Laizi? Who has not been stolen by Er Laizi? After stealing things, they can't even catch them. Now they have a chance, and they claim to speak from the perspective of justice.
I don’t know who started to do it more severely. Erlaizi was unstable and fell backwards. Without the villagers to help him, he just fell to the ground. The villagers didn’t dare to speak for a while, for fear that Erlaizi would cheat others.
Fortunately, Er Laizi was fine, struggling on the ground, and wanted to stand up with a stick.
Wu Daguang heard the sound outside the door and stopped abruptly. He ran over and saw Er Laizi falling to the ground, and the villagers were watching indifferently.
"For such people, you are worthy of your duty, let's all part with you." Wu Daguang stopped him.
The villagers looked at me, and I looked at you, and they said they were puzzled and they had lost interest.
Erlaizi got up from the ground, stood a stick in one hand, and was wearing a cotton coat given to him by Wu Daguang. He was covered in dirt and didn't care about this. He had a lot of words to ask, but he didn't know how to speak.
"I don't know what to say, this is you, this is you in the eyes of others. It is a beast who only wants to have three meals. No one will make a fuss for a beast, especially a beast that harms the crops."
Erlaizi's mouth became trembling as Wu Daguang said. Wu Daguang clearly said without a tone, and it was like a stir in his heart.
"I will pay you back the money." Erlaizi said solemnly, which means he was concerned.
"What are you going to get?" Wu Daguang's tone was still so dull.
Erlaizi clenched his fists again, "I..." and he knew he was unable to repay the money.
"Three days later, come and work for me, two hundred a month." Wu Daguang's face was calm, the small universe in his heart exploded, and he was handsome.
"Are you not afraid that I will give it to you..." said the word "dark".
"You have a breath of life, go back and rest for two days, go to work, I will guarantee that you will build a new tiled house in a year." Wu Daguang took out five dollars and stuffed it to Erlaizi, and said, "It will be deducted from the wages at the end of the month."
After Wu Daguang finished speaking, he entered his own yard.
Erlaizi held five dollars in his hand. I don’t know if it was excitement or touching, but Wu Daguang was the first person to respect him, and the one who treated him as a human being.
He dragged his body home, stayed at the kang without eating, drinking or sleeping, and thought about it all day and night, but he himself didn't know what he was thinking.
At noon the next day, a small body appeared at Erlaizi's door, carrying a lunch box in his hand, and leaning into it. Erlaizi's home was a bit scary, and Xinghua didn't dare to go in.
"Uncle Er Lai, are you at home?" Xinghua shouted into the house.
Erlaizi's dullness was called back to his senses by Xinghua. He sat up from the kang, stretched his neck to look out the window: "Where is there, what's wrong with Xinghua? What's wrong?" Erlaizi got off the kang and dragged his shoes out of the house.
Xinghua grinned at Erlaizi, lifted the lunch box in her hand, and trotted into Erlaizi's yard: "Uncle Erlai, try the ribs made by my father."
Erlaizi opened it and saw that half of the rice and half of the ribs, the fragrance of the ribs drifted into his nose and his stomach was rumbling. He hadn't eaten pork for many years, but he couldn't remember it.
"Don't Er Lai thank Xinghua? Dad said that others would help him, so he would say thank you." Xinghua shone with her big eyes and reminded Er Laizi.
Er Laizi was stunned. He had never said Xie before when he grew up. When facing a child's question, the Xie word was stuck in his throat and could not be said.
"Hehe, Uncle Er Lai, I'm teasing you. The rice is still hot. You can eat it quickly. Xinghua will go home first." Xinghua turned around and trotted in the direction of home.
Er Laizi always pretended to be Xie, and forced a sound: "xi..." When looking at the apricot blossoms, the person had already run away.
Xinghua ran away, and Erlaizi easily said four words: "Thank you Xinghua."
Erlaizi was speechless at himself, slapped himself lightly, and scolded himself: "A terrible thing."
At midnight, Wu Daguang yawned and went to work. He opened the big iron door, and his face was close to the crack of the door. The two people inside and outside the door were startled to be shocked.
"Er Laizi, are you sick? Can't you be more normal?"
"I don't know if you just open the door, I just want to see if you've got out of the hole."
"I'm calling out a stall and a hole. I can't speak."
When I arrived at the market in the morning, Wu Daguang greeted people warmly, and Erlaizi also learned to say hello, but it made the other stall owners look a little awkward and parrot.
Two people work, obviously faster than one person, and they quickly set up a stall.
Under the fire, Er Laizi took the initiative to bring the bowl to the stall owners around him.
"Daguang, please help me carry the goods, I can't carry them." A stall owner greeted not far away.
"Here you come." Wu Daguang responded.
Er Laizi jumped out immediately to stop Wu Daguang: "I'll go, I'll go."
Er Laizi never regarded helping others as such a happy thing, so he went there happily.
After one morning, Wu Daguang was much more relaxed than usual, and Erlaizi was in trouble. He was so tired that he sat on the bench and couldn't sit up.
At noon, Wu Daguang took Erlaizi to the factory to deliver food and told Erlaizi clearly that he would hand over the work of delivering food to him in the future, and no matter what happened, he would have to deliver it.
