Chapter 405: Theater of Life(2/2)

"It looks good, right?" the voice said coldly next to Li Xiu.

"This future looks really good," Li Xiu said.

"Don't worry, let's take another look." The voice led Li Xiu down the rooftop and towards the edge of the city.

Li Xiu originally thought that she was taking him to the slums, but when he walked all the way to the edge of the city, he didn't see any slums. Even in the suburbs, all the buildings were equally advanced and full of futuristic technology.

When Li Xiu was wondering what she wanted him to see, he saw a group of people walking over from the street.

"Take a closer look at those people," the voice said.

Li Xiu found that there were about a thousand people in the group, leaving the city along the main road. The strange thing was that those people were all elderly people, most of them seemed to be around fifty or sixty years old, and they were all about the same age.

The old people looked sad and lined up to walk out of the city.

Behind the old people's team, there is another team, but that team is composed of young people, and the number is about the same as the old people's team.

Not long after, the old man's team arrived at the end of the city, where there was an army of magic costume masters guarding it.

The old people came to the checkpoint and stopped one by one. Some old people wanted to turn back, but the leading old man stopped them loudly: "Don't look back."

Many old people trembled and stopped the urge to turn around. Their expressions were miserable and their bodies were trembling involuntarily.

"Don't look back, let's go." The old man who took the lead gritted his teeth, and his voice seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth. After saying that, he strode towards the checkpoint without looking back, and passed the checkpoint first.

"Dad!" A shrill howl sounded from the team of young people at the back. A young man in his twenties, with tears streaming down his face, desperately crossed the team of young people and rushed towards the checkpoint.

"Stop, don't come over." The old man stood there without looking back and shouted decisively.

"Dad...don't go...I don't want anything anymore...please stay...I don't want anything...as long as you live..." The young man stopped and knelt on the ground with a plop, heartbroken.

Shout out loudly.

"Dad...Mom..." The young man's voice infected the team of young people behind him. Those young people who were still holding back their tears rushed to the checkpoint crying heartbrokenly.

The magic costumer guards immediately rushed out and stood between the old people's team and the young people's team, blocking the young people who were desperately rushing towards the old people.

"Dad...Mom...come back...we don't want anything...please...come back..." The men and women shouted desperately, trying to rush through the human wall of magic costumers and rush towards the old people.

"My son...my daughter..." The old people who had been struggling to endure finally couldn't help but burst into tears.

"Don't look back... follow me... this is our life... and their life..." the leading old man roared, but his tears couldn't stop falling.

The old man's last words seemed to wake up the old people. They all had tears streaming down their faces, but they gritted their teeth. Their hands were clenched into fists, their nails dug into their flesh, and blood seeped out from the gaps in their fingers, drop by drop.

Drops falling.

They did not look back, their eyes were full of misery, despair, unwillingness, fear, love and pity, but no one looked back, and their bodies kept trembling.

"Why...why...God can't give us a way to survive..." An old woman wailed miserably, and after speaking, she rushed out of the checkpoint desperately.

"Mom...don't go...please...don't go..." A girl desperately wanted to break through the defense line of the magician, even if she was broken into pieces, she still wanted to run towards her mother.

The magic costumer guard seemed unable to bear such miserable family affection, so he forced the girl to rush over.

As soon as the mouth opened, the young men and women went crazy, with red eyes and tears, and rushed towards the old people crawling.

"Xiao Ru... don't come over... If you come one more step... I will give you my life now..." The old woman standing in front of the checkpoint shouted sternly, one foot already about to step out of the red line of the checkpoint.

"Mom!" The girl fell to the ground, already sobbing, her eyes blurred by tears, looking at the old woman pleadingly: "Mom... don't go..."

"Xiaogu... live well... live well... God won't give us life... then we will use our own lives to exchange... our lives... we will earn it ourselves... survive... we must

To survive..." the old woman said, decisively stepping out of the red line and rushing out of the city desperately.

"Our lives... let's change it ourselves..." The old people burst into tears one by one, but their faces were full of determination. They followed the old woman and rushed out of the checkpoint one by one.

"Dad...Mom..." The young people rushed over like crazy, but it was already too late. The gate net of the checkpoint had fallen down. They desperately grabbed the steel wire mesh, as if they wanted to tear it open and push it down, but

Even though his hands were dripping with blood, he could do nothing. He could only watch the old people rush out of the city and fade away in the wilderness.

"What are they doing?" Li Xiu stared blankly at the old people running desperately in the wilderness, wondering what they were doing.

Those old people ran hard, ran hard, got up again when they fell, and kept running. They seemed to just want to run farther.

"They are... exchanging lives..." The emotionless voice sounded beside Li Xiu: "The world is torn apart... reincarnation is broken... there is no new life in the world... one person dies for another life... only the old man dies...

…Only then can a newborn be born…”

Li Xiu's pupils contracted. He saw the old man who was the first to rush out of the city. As he ran, frost gradually appeared on his body. When he stopped, his body was already covered with frost, and he looked like a snowman in a moment.

Those old people rushed forward one by one, and the frost on their bodies accumulated more and more, and finally turned into an ice sculpture.

For a moment, the road outside the city seemed to turn into an ice hell, with ice sculptures standing motionless in various strange postures in the wilderness.

Now Li Xiu finally understood why they ran so fast. They wanted to run as far as possible and prevent their children from seeing them freeze to death.

Li Xiu looked around and saw that in the vast wilderness, there were ice sculptures of old people everywhere. There were tens of thousands of them. There were countless old people who had exchanged their lives for new lives. Here was
