Chapter 254 The biggest wish when I was a child
Yang Jing’s words were not nonsense, but a decision that only after thinking carefully during this period of time.
Since discovering the magic of the holy ring, Yang Jing really didn't know what to do for a while, and all the life plans he had set before were disrupted. When making money was no longer a difficult time, and when things that needed to be most worked hard for him to get were at your fingertips, life seemed to suddenly become a little boring... This made Yang Jing really confused for a while.
Later, when Yang Jing met the princess the day before the class reunion and the two reunited, Yang Jing realized that he had a lot of things to do, rather than the previous state of being idle.
Later, when Mr. Liu accidentally proposed to open a private museum, Yang Jing found that his life seemed to have another goal.
Whether I went to the United States later or traveled to the Cayman Islands in 1979, I was struggling for this goal. Fortunately, the holy ring was still magical, and the funds needed to open a museum were solved in a short period of time.
Private museums are not open as soon as you want. Not to mention anything else, the problem of venues alone is a huge expense.
After this trip in the United States, Yang Jing has already brought enough funds. Not to mention the massive amount of funds he earned in the London gold market in 1980, the Bitcoin alone is enough to support Yang Jing in completing his private museum plan.
Of course, it is precisely because of so much money that Yang Jing’s original private museum plan has become more detailed.
Everyone has a sense of intimacy from the bottom of their hometown, just like their parents. Some young people may not be able to understand this emotion, but some older people or those who have been abroad for a long time may have such emotions.
Yang Jing once lived alone in London for two years. Naturally, he had experienced how terrible it was to be able to leave his hometown. Of course, he knew more about how important his hometown occupies in his own heart.
Tianqu is just a small fourth-tier city. Whether it is GDP or natural resources, it is an unknown person in the whole country. What Mr. Yang said that day made Yang Jing think about it for a long time. Yes, since he wants to build a large private museum, why not place the museum in his hometown?
A large museum is very attractive to tourists. Look at the Palace Museum, look at the Nanbo, and then look at the Libo and Military Domain. How many tourists can it attract every year!
Yang Jing was very confident. With the holy ring, as long as he built a museum, his collection was definitely no worse than those famous state-owned large museums!
This is not a big deal, not to mention anything else. Just the batch of manuscript documents acquired from 1994 is enough to support a small museum. In Yang Jing's plan, the manuscript documents acquired last time and the manuscript documents that Lao Xue continued to acquire in the 1990s will be a very huge number once all gathered together. By then, the cultural center will have it!
It’s not enough to have a cultural center alone, including jade hall, porcelain hall, calligraphy and painting hall, miscellaneous hall, and overseas halls under Yang Jing’s plan!
If such a large private museum is really established, it will definitely be very attractive to tourists. Tianqu has natural transportation advantages, so why not use this museum to make Tianqu more tourists?
Therefore, since she decided to build her own private museum in Tianqu City, Yang Jing has been considering the exact location of the museum during this period.
There are many places in Tianqu City that are suitable for building museums, such as the development zone and Lingcheng District, which have newly joined the city's urban area. The two new urban areas are also the current focus of development directions. If Yang Jing wants to place the museum location in that direction, the city will definitely welcome you with both hands, and even providing Yang Jing with a piece of land for free is not impossible.
But Yang Jing did not want to build his museum in the new city area to the east. Yang Jing wanted to place this museum in Hexi where he grew up.
The most famous scenic spots and historical sites in Tianqu are the Grand Canal. To put it simply, Tianqu can develop into what it is today and become the 332 prefecture-level administrative division units in the country, which is inseparable from this Grand Canal that has been flowing for thousands of years.
You should know that before the Ming Dynasty, Tianqu’s administrative center was not here, but in Jiangling County in the east. However, it was because Zhu Di “the emperor guarded the country’s gate” that he moved his capital to Yanjing. Tianqu, which relied on the Grand Canal of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, gradually became one of the 32 commercial cities in the country in the Ming Dynasty.
You should know that before the Ming Dynasty, Tianqu was just a military important place with a population of less than 2,000. Even before the Ming Dynasty's Chengzu Zhu Di, Tianqu was also a key place for garrisons. The famous 12th battalion of Emperor Jianwen of the Ming Dynasty was in Tianqu.
Later, the Grand Canal of Beijing and Hangzhou was unblocked, and Tianqu also became an important canal transport hub. Tianqu gradually developed and eventually became one of the 32 most important commercial cities in the country.
However, in the middle and late Qing Dynasty, the canal was disrepaired due to its age and disarray and the Yellow River carried a large amount of silt through the canal several times, and the Grand Canal was increasingly silted, and it began to lose its strong transportation capacity. Tianqu also began to flourish and decline. In particular, the promotion of sea transportation of grain accelerated this process.
In fact, sea transportation of grain began in the Yuan Dynasty, and was stagnant because of the implementation of the maritime ban policy in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was not until the sixth year of Daoguang that the Qing government tried sea transportation for the first time. Especially in the fifth year of Xianfeng (1855), the Yellow River broke at the Tongwaxiang and diverted the route to the north, the canal was interrupted, and sea transportation became more frequent. This was a painful period, and Tianqu was thus trapped in the tragic situation of "the commercial port was opened and the Beijing road changed, the grain transportation was stopped but the south was not coming, and the water and land commerce was greatly reduced."
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the development and prosperity of Tianqu's economy mainly depended on canal transportation. Although the growth of local commerce played a role in fueling the fire, there was no substantial major breakthrough in the development level of productivity. In the 28th year of the Guangxu period (1902), the entire canal transportation stopped, and Tianqu's past style was no longer there.
Tianqu, which had been prosperous for hundreds of years because of the Grand Canal of Beijing and Hangzhou, eventually declined because the entire canal of the Grand Canal of Beijing and Hangzhou was stopped.
For the people of Tianqu, the Grand Canal of Beijing and Hangzhou is both a kind of pride, but isn’t it a kind of pain?
Especially since the 1990s, with the rapid development of industry, the originally clear Grand Canal eventually turned into a stinky ditch. At the worst, the paper mills in the upper reaches were crazily discharged sewage into the Grand Canal, which caused the Grand Canal to emit a pungent smell all year round. Not to mention fish, even flies, mosquitoes and mice were unwilling to get close to the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal became a completely dead river!
When Yang Jing was a child, whether it was his mother or uncle, he told him stories about the Grand Canal more than once. Among them, Yang Jing liked to hear the stories told by his uncle and remembered them the most clearly.
According to my uncle, when I was a child, the water in the Grand Canal was particularly clear, and the water inside could be drunk directly. The first water plant in Tianqu was built next to the Grand Canal.
At that time, the Grand Canal was a natural amusement park for children in summer. Every summer vacation, a group of young and half of the young men from the National Cotton Factory would soak in the river all day long, swimming, catching fish, digging river clams, and netting river shrimps. They could play for a day as soon as they played.
Of course, if the parents stroke their arms with their fingernails after returning home, as long as they find white marks, then come on, you will definitely be beaten like a ghost crying and howling. But even if the butt is swollen the first day, the next day these bald boys will continue to gather on the river bank, either going down the river or fighting a trash battle...
When my uncle was young, he was beaten up by his grandparents a lot. When he was the best, he even hung up his uncle to beat him up. But even so, the Grand Canal is still the uncle who will never forget his childhood memories.
When Yang Jing was young, he often played next to the Grand Canal, but at that time the Grand Canal had turned into a stinky ditch. The scene of fishing boats and ospreys surfing like he said was scattered and ospreys were never seen again.
Ten years after the new century, the Tianqu Municipal Government began to realize the protection of the Grand Canal. Not only did it clear the canal channel located in the city, but it also spent money to build a river road on the canal embankment. It also built an ancient building - the Grand Canal Ancient Street, where my uncle and his friends were playing.
Although it is not a real ancient street, it is enough to prove the city government's concern for the Grand Canal.
However, these attention and concerns seem far from enough in Yang Jing's eyes, but the development direction of the municipal government is in the east, not Hexi where industries gather. Therefore, the so-called "Grand Canal Development" project has been hanging half-dead.
In the past, even if Yang Jing wanted to change the environment of the Grand Canal, which was only 400 meters away from the National Cotton Factory, he was powerless. But now, he already has the capital, so transforming this land between the Grand Canal and the National Cotton Factory into a large public welfare place integrating museums, parks and amusement parks has the most basic financial conditions.
Yang Jing made $450 million with Bitcoin, even when the national currency is appreciated, it will be nearly 3 billion. If the Tianqu Municipal Government can agree to cooperation, then the $450 million is more than enough.
This land adjacent to the Grand Canal and the canal embankment of about ten meters high was Yang Jing's paradise when he was a child. Although he had never gone down the river, he picked locust flowers and elm seeds here in spring, digging and crawling here in summer evenings (cicada larvae), and setting fires and roasting corn stolen from the ground with his friends... These are all memories that Yang Jing will never forget in his life.
Especially when Yang Jing witnessed the most miserable time in the Grand Canal - it was a stinky ditch that was inauspicious, so Yang Jing wanted to turn the Grand Canal into the kind of clear water that my uncle said.
Being able to swim around the river with your friends naked, touch two fish, and dig a few river clams is Yang Jing’s biggest wish when he was a child!
Now, it’s time to realize this wish!
