Chapter 377 Oham Oil Field

These are Yang Jing's two flights to the Mediterranean Sea in one month. Last time he went to Cyprus with Gege, and this time he simply flew directly to the southern coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

As the capital of Algeria, Algiers, located on the southern coast of the Mediterranean, is a very beautiful city. This city full of *** and ancient Roman charm is a pearl on the southern coast of the Mediterranean.

However, Yang Jing didn't have time to appreciate this beautiful city. He slept for more than ten hours in the hotel before he went downstairs in full spirit. After a breakfast, at around five o'clock in the morning, a group of fourteen people and six cars went straight on the road.

There is still more than 1,100 kilometers from Algiers to Borma, the small town where the oil field is located. Without any expressways, the group of them had to drive on the road for nearly seventeen hours.

From Algiers, board the A1 route, then follow this route to cross the Taylor Atlas Mountains, the largest mountain in Algeria. After passing through Buvila, the important city in northern Algeria, turn to the N8 route, and then cross the Sahara Atlas Mountains, and then enter the Sahara Desert.

As the country with the largest land area in Africa, Algeria can actually use very small land area. In the northern part of Algeria, there are two parallel mountain ranges. The mountain range to the north is the Taylor Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Atlas Mountains to the south. After passing the Sahara Atlas Mountains, it occupies 85% of the entire land area of Algeria.

In other words, the entire Algeria is almost the desert and mountains, and the plains are only a small area on the southern coast of the Mediterranean.

Such a terrain would be a disaster for an agricultural country. However, in the desolate and almost uninhabited Sahara Desert, there are huge amounts of oil and gas resources.

The Sahara Desert is located in Algeria and contains huge amounts of oil and gas resources. The reserves of natural gas alone are as high as 707 trillion cubic feet, while crude oil has 5.7 billion barrels! And this is only one-third of Algeria's land area. There are still two-thirds of Algeria's land area that has not been surveyed at all...

So many oil and gas resources are enough to make Algeria a wealthy country that can be found in the entire Africa.

Now, 97% of the power generation in the entire Algeria comes from natural gas power generation. This number is a number that is far from that of China and many countries in the world.

Most of Algeria's oil and gas fields are distributed in the central and eastern regions, almost all of which are located in the Sahara Desert. Just like the destination of Yang Jing and his friends this time, Borma, is located in the eastern desert of Algeria - this desert is part of the Sahara Desert.

Due to the terrain, when Yang Jing and his team drove in the Atlas Mountains of Sahara, lush vegetation could still be seen around them, but when they left this huge mountain range, all the yellow sand in the sky was full of yellow sand...

Most of the deserts in Algeria are relatively large gravel deserts. Compared with the Takramakan Desert in China, the desert here is more rough.

This was the first time Yang Jing came to the Sahara Desert, which immediately made his sleepy spirit feel refreshed.

He took the steering wheel from Chris and Yang Jing drove on the N8 road himself. Although this road is not a highway, it is much easier to walk than domestic highways.

The road is not wide, and the standard two-way two-lane highway is about the same width as the county roads in China. However, the road is very flat, and there are basically no vehicles on the road. Beyond the sandproof ditches on both sides of the road, there is no marginal yellow sand at a glance. Against the backdrop of the fascinating blue sky, driving in such a large desert at high speed will make people feel inexplicably excited.

The road was flat and the floor at home, and there were no cars. Yang Jing once raised the speed to 200 kilometers, but in the desert without any reference, he couldn't feel the speed even at 200 kilometers per hour.

Occasionally, you can see small villages and towns on both sides of the highway. Yang Jing is also very surprised why the residents there can survive in the Sahara Desert.

The knowledgeable Chris gave the answer.

"BOSS, not all of them are deserts in the Sahara Desert, especially in Algeria. Thanks to the tall Sahara Atlas Mountains in the north, there are many seasonal rivers in the deserts in Algeria. During the aquatic water season, these rivers have water, but in the dry water season, these rivers dry up. However, although these rivers have dried up and there is no water on the surface, there is a lot of groundwater here. These groundwaters pour out from the Sahara Desert, forming small oasis, feeding countless people living in the Sahara Desert."

"In the language of the local Algerians, these oasis are often given the title of "fountain" or "well". For example, the Borma we are about to go to was developed based on the Duleman Well and the Roman Well. There is also the large oasis we are about to pass through ahead, called the Byreheim Spring."

Life is really magical and tenacious. If it weren't for seeing it with your own eyes, Yang Jing would really not have imagined that there were so many humans living in the Sahara Desert, known as the "Sea of Death".

They may have lived here for hundreds or thousands of years, and they may have been unable to bear such harsh conditions, but the instinct of life still prompts them to continue to survive in such an environment.

The convoy galloped along the road opened from the desert. Soon, Yang Jing lost the excitement he had when he first saw the desert. Chris took the steering wheel and continued to drive forward.

The sky soon darkened in a somewhat boring trip. Compared with the high temperatures that were as high as forty degrees during the day, close to fifty degrees, in the evening, the car would not feel hot even if it was not turned on the air conditioner.

"Boss, you'd better take out a few clothes. We may have more than three hours to arrive at our destination. After the sun has completely set, the temperature here will drop sharply. If you don't want to catch a cold, it's better to wear some thick clothes." Chris reminded Yang Jing while driving.

However, this time Yang Jing did not follow the rules. He wanted to experience the legendary "Wearing gauze in the afternoon and wearing cotton in the evening". In the desert area, the temperature difference between day and night is huge, so it is no joke to experience spring, summer, autumn and winter in one day.

It's like the Sahara Desert, which is the largest temperature difference between day and night in the world. In winter... Well, there is no difference between winter and summer in the Sahara. In December, the temperature here can reach 37 or 8 degrees during the day, but at night, the temperature here will drop rapidly to below zero.

Just like today, the temperature was nearly fifty degrees at noon. Yang Jing was wearing a shorts and T-shirt and turned on the air conditioner to the fullest in the car. Only then could he bear it. He had seen the high temperature in the desert area during the day. He now wanted to experience the temperature at night in the desert area.

As a result, Yang Jing suffered a big loss.

Chris parked the car on the side of the road and changed into a jacket, but Yang Jing still had shorts and T-shirts. Everyone else changed into jackets or jeans, so they all watched the big boss pretending to be there.

As a result, this was better than not. At around 9 o'clock in the evening, about 70 kilometers away from Borma, Yang Jing felt that his feet were no longer his own.

Chris looked at the boss stomping his feet in the vicinity, and then asked with a smile: "Boss, do you want to turn on the warm wind?"

Yang Jing did not speak, but silently took the clothes from the back seat, changed into two parts, then reached out and turned on the warm wind, and then felt that he had returned to the world.

At this time, the temperature outside had dropped below ten degrees...

At around 10:30 in the evening, the group finally arrived at their destination Borma.

Borma said it was a city, but in fact it was not as good as a village in China. The length and width of the entire city were only 500 meters, and there was not even a thousand residents.

The city is located on the border between Algeria and Tunisia, and the edge of the city is less than four kilometers away from the straight line of the border...

There is no way. Although this city is very small, it is also an absolute city. In fact, it is already extremely difficult to have such a city in the depths of the Sahara Desert. Just like the settlements that Yang Jing saw on the way he came, there were only one or two hundred people in one settlement. Borma is indeed a city compared to those settlements.

However, Yang Jing and the others cannot live in Borma yet, and they have to rush to the oil field seven kilometers away from Borma.

Following a gravel road, Yang Jing and his team turned a corner from Borma and drove north for about ten minutes before reaching their real destination - Oham Oilfield.

The oil field was developed in Total, France in the late 1980s. It revolves around this medium-sized oil field with a reserve of 58 million tons, and a living area entirely built by the extremely family members of oil exploiters. At the same time, there is a small oil refinery next to the oil field.

Although the sky was completely dark, it was brightly lit here. The powerful diesel generator provided sufficient electricity here. The crude oil extracted from a thousand meters deep underground was initially refined by the small refinery, and the diesel separated was enough to make the diesel generator here not worrying about no oil burning.

Several huge oil tanks stand in the refinery, like several huge Titan giants, and a thick pipeline extends from the refinery and goes to Tunisia to the east.

This oil pipeline extends from the Hassie Mesa Ude Oilfield in the west, which is the largest oil field in Algeria and the 10th largest oil field in the world.

This largest oil field in Algeria has three oil pipelines that extend to the port cities along the Mediterranean coast. Two of them are the two oil ports, Alze and Bejaya, which extend all the way northwards all the way to Algeria. The other oil pipeline passes eastward through Borma and enters Tunisia's port city, and finally arrives at the port city of Tunisia.
