Chapter 201 Chaka Salt Lake

Finally, with the help of her beautiful and lovely daughter, Cai Hongming made the sand sculpture castle.》

One meter high and half a meter thick city wall, standing on it, a group of soldiers who looked like shit and looked like snowmen. There were many houses and towers in the city, and there were some pedestrians on the street that looked like shit.

Looking at the pedestrians whose daughter piled up with sand, Cai Hongming felt that what he had made was no longer a castle, but a cesspool.

"Mom, look, is the castle I made with my dad beautiful?" Chuchu said to her mother proudly.

But she just made a few piles of sand with her, and Cai Hongming said she was helpless.

"Beautiful." Shi Wan'er smiled and touched her daughter's head.

At noon, they were having a meal at the village by Qinghai Lake. Logically speaking, there should be a lot of fish to eat here, but when they arrived at the farmhouse, Cai Hongming found that there was no fish inside. At this time, Cai Hongming remembered that most Tibetans here did not eat fish. In their hearts, Qinghai Lake is the holy Qinghai Lake, so they dare not use worldly filth to contaminate. Besides, in the past, there were water burials in the local area, which was thrown into the lake after death.

Think about it, that doesn’t it mean that the fish in the lake grow up by eating meat, and it feels disgusting even if you think about it.

However, the situation of not eating fish has begun to change since Qinghai Lake is lively and the number of foreign populations has increased.

People who come outside care about you, anyway, they can eat as long as they have to eat, so fewer and fewer fish in Qinghai Lake are now banned.

After dinner, I rested for a while, and in the afternoon, the group continued to go to Chaka Salt Lake to play.

Chaka Salt Lake is also called Chaka or Dabson Nur. "Chaka" is Tibetan, meaning salt pond, which is the salt in Qinghai; "Dabusun Nur" is Mongolian, which also means salt lake. The salt lake is located in the Qaidam Basin, sandwiched between Wanyan Tongbu Mountain, the branch of the Qilian Mountains and Wanggaxiu Mountain, the branch of the Kunlun Mountains. The lake surface is 3,100 meters above sea level, 15.8 kilometers from east to west and 9.2 kilometers wide from north to south, and is an elliptical shape. The total area is 105 square kilometers, which is equivalent to 16 West Lakes.

The formation of the salt lake is due to the movement of the earth's crust. Here we have to sigh at the power of nature.

Scientific research has found that the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was previously part of the ocean. After a long period of crust movement, the ground was lifted up and turned into the largest plateau in the world. As a result, the seawater remained in some low-lying areas to form many salt lakes and ponds, and Chaka Salt Lake was one of them. The salt in the Chaka (qiǎ) lake was almost endless, because the rainwater would bring more salt down from the surrounding mountains.

This was once an outflow lake that flowed eastward into the Republic Basin and into the Yellow River.

Tectonic uplifts occurred around 100,000 to 130,000 years, turning Chaka Salt Lake into an inland lake.

Because the area here is smaller than that here in Qinghai Lake and the annual rainfall is smaller, the amount of water that can be injected here every year is particularly small, and the evaporation here is particularly severe, so this salt lake with extremely high salt content is formed.

Chaka Salt Lake is a brine lake with solid and liquid coexisting, so it can stand in some places. It is like a treasure mirror embedded in the snow-capped mountains and grasslands, so it is also called the "Mirror of the Sky" by travelers.

Chaka Salt Lake was mined a long time ago, with a history of more than 3,000 years.

"Han Shu Geography" records: "Jincheng County Lin Qiang northwest to the outside of the border, there are the Queen Mother's room in the West, Xianhai, and Yanchi." Xianhai is now Qinghai Lake, and Yanchi is the Chaka Salt Lake.

There is also a record in "Xining Prefecture New Chronicle": "In the west of the county, more than 500 miles, southwest of Qinghai... there are 200 or dozens of miles around, and the salt is natural and it is endless. Mongolia uses an iron spoon to pick it up, sells jade market trade, and the county people rely on it."

Starting from around the 28th year of Qianlong (1763), the government has organized large-scale mining of salt lakes and has established a salt law.

In the 34th year of the Guangxu period (1908), the Dangar Department Salt Bureau was established, marking the inclusion of teaka salt into the orderly operation and management track.

Before liberation, the Ma Bufang regime set up a salt farm here, producing nearly 1,000 tons of raw salt every year.

After liberation, the ancient Chaka salt pond was continuously built and developed and initially realized the mechanization of salt harvesting. It can produce hundreds of thousands of tons of high-quality raw salt every year. In addition to supplying it to various parts of Qinghai, it is also sold well in more than 20 provinces and regions across the country and exported to Japan, Nepal, the Middle East and other regions.

Cai Hongming felt that the meaning of travel was not to look at the scenery and take photos.

Travel should be to expand knowledge while cultivating the body and mind. Therefore, when you go to a place, you should understand the history, culture, local characteristics of the place, enjoy delicious food, and experience the local folk customs. This is the true meaning of travel.

The weather is good today, the sky is blue and white clouds are floating. This is the best time to appreciate the salt lake.

People stood on the crystal clear surface of Chaka Salt Lake, looking at the figure reflected under their feet, they didn't know whether the self in the shadow was the real self or the self now was himself.

When you get here, you can not only enjoy the scenery of the salt lake, but also visit salt harvesting operations.

This is a world of salt. There is a salt smell on the train, on the ground, and even in the air. There are salt digging boats digging salt in the distance. Looking at these salts close up, they look like crystals. If you taste it, the taste is slightly different from salt. Modern large salt mining boats cruising on the lake. On the lakeside, small trains are running, and salt piles stand like snow-capped mountains, showing the charming scenery and wealth of the firewood salt lake.

Originally, Chuchu wanted to bring all the animals at home, but unfortunately the people in the scenic area were unwilling to do so, for fear that the animals at home would shit and pee in it.

But after discussion, seeing Chuchu so cute, she finally brought in the smaller mouse rabbit dragon, Bai Lu Xuexue and the one-horned mastiff.

Chuchu fell in there and fell in love with it. Because there was water in the lake, she took off her shoes and ran to play, and pulled her mother to take beautiful photos with her. Xuexue, Xiaolong and Jiaojiao, who came with it, stood out their tongues and licked the salt water in the lake. Chuchu actually licked it curiously, but was immediately scolded by Shi Wan'er.

The salt grains in this lake are large in nature and have a mellow salty smell. Because their salt crystals contain minerals, making the salt crystals blue-black, they are called "green salt". In the past, green salt was famous.

However, it is now found that eating impurities contained in green salt crystals is harmful to health by frequent consumption, so after these salts are mined, they have to go through several processes before they can be eaten.

The group of people played in Chaka Salt Lake until the sunset was setting before leaving reluctantly. At night, they set up a tent to stay by Qinghai Lake.

Because they brought a lot of food when they came, they didn't have to go out to buy it, so they cooked it by the lake and started eating.
