Chapter 690 The Ambition of the Giant Ship
"Yes, it would be great if it could build a lucky ship from Ming Dynasty!"
Just as Shimazu Takaha of Satsuma was ambition to get a giant ship from the hands of the visitors from the sea, Masara, who was far away on the shore of Imari Bay, Matsuura, looked at the scene in front of him and expressed the same expectation.
Standing on the rocks by the sea, the sea breeze blows from the west one after another, bringing a rich and slightly salty atmosphere. A large number of people are constantly walking around the coast hundreds of meters away. There is currently the largest harbor of the Roche family, the Ivanli Bay Harbour.
Currently, there are four relatively large and complete ports in the territory of the Luo family, namely Hirado Port, Imali Bay Port, Kawatsu Port, and Hakata Port, which is being restored by the Shizumaki Country. Among them, Hirado Port and Hakata Port are the only commercial ports open to the outside world in the Luo family territory, Kawatsu Port is a military training port responsible for training the naval army (in the future, it will be a branch of the Naval Army Academy of the Roche Academy), and Imali Bay Port is a shipbuilding port.
Since the only shipbuilding workshop of the Luo family is currently established here, after years of continuous development, Ivanli Bay Port has become the largest port in the Luo family territory, the most dock buildings and the widest paved concrete floor.
On the second day after the negotiations with Kensou Kitahara, Masara began his second trip to inspect the Luo family's territory. The first stop of this trip was naturally the shipbuilding workshop in Imali Bay, closest to Kishigayama Castle.
Masara's dream has always been Masara's dream. Eight years ago, when the Roche family occupied the Matsuura-gun area and obtained a group of shipbuilding facilities and local shipbuilding craftsmen, Masara asked the Inner Council to start building the first naval ship workshop of the Roche family in Imanli Bay.
Of course, due to the lack of comprehensive technology and insufficient raw materials, the workshop was only responsible for repairing and maintaining the Luo family's naval ships. However, as the territory of the Luo family continued to expand, the Luo family obtained more and more shipbuilding materials, shipbuilding facilities and shipbuilding craftsmen. More importantly, two years ago, the Ming Dynasty merchant Wang Hai helped the Luo family "invited" several leaders who worked as craftsmen in the Ming Dynasty Shipyard from the Ming Dynasty. In order for these craftsmen to settle down in the Luo family's territory, Wang Hai directly "invited" all the relatives of these craftsmen.
According to Wang Hai and others' statements, at this time, the more famous shipyards in the Ming Dynasty were mainly Longjiang Shipyard in Nanjing, Qingjiang Shipyard in northern Jiangsu, Qinghe Shipyard in Shandong, Tainan Shipyard in Fujian and Jilin Shipyard in Northeast China. These craftsmen were "invited" from Longjiang Shipyard in Nanjing and Tainan Shipyard in Fujian. Anyway, the family of these craftsmen was in different troubles at that time, and even several craftsmen were about to go bankrupt. So "inviting" them here is a good thing for them.
With the addition of these craftsmen, the Roche family's ship repair workshop located in Ivanli Bay Harbor gradually began to transform into a shipbuilding workshop.
After nearly two years of preparation, the dock warehouse of Ivanli Bay Port had already stored a mountain of wood and iron, tung oil, oyster ash, vine, brown, hemp, raw paint and other materials. Since the Luo family had already started maritime trade with Ming smuggling merchants and Nanbar merchants at this time, and with the mountains in Japan, the materials suitable for shipbuilding were also abundant, so it was not too difficult to prepare these materials.
In terms of the survival organization of the workshop, Zhengliang also referred to the wing organization of the Mingguo Shipyard, and divided it into four wings according to the professional nature: one wing made wooden sluts; two wings made of ships, iron parts and cables; three wings repaired old ships; four wings made of palm tents and other items. The reasonable organization and strict division of labor of this production will help promote the improvement of productivity and improve the territory's future shipbuilding capabilities.
Finally, it is the question of choosing the model of shipbuilding. On this side, Zhengliang prefers to choose the ship model of the Ming Dynasty. Currently, there are three major ship models: the Guang ship model, the Fu ship model and the Sand ship model.
The Guangzhou Ship is named after it was built in Guangdong. The head tip is long and the draft is deep. The beam arch is small, the ridge is not high, and it has good wave resistance. In terms of structure, it is composed of dense ribs and cabin plates in the horizontal direction, and the longitudinal strength is maintained by keels and large ribs. The shipbuilding materials are litchi wood, camphor wood and iron chestnut wood (blue wood), which are strong and durable, but the source of the material is difficult and the cost is high, which is hindered from its development. The front side of the Guangzhou Ship is equipped with a vertical lifting and falling plate that can extend out of the bottom of the ship, which plays a role in reducing the rodding and stabilizing the course. There are rows of diamond-shaped holes on the rudder board, which saves effort on the steering and does not affect the rudder effect. The middle and foremasts of the large Guangzhou Ship are both leaning forward, with hard sails hanging on the upper cloth, and the poles are thicker and sparsely arranged. In the medium, small Guangzhou Ship is equipped with oars and oars. The Guangzhou Ship has good wave breaking ability, which is conducive to deep water navigation.
The Fu Ship is named after it was built in Fujian. The boat has four layers, the lower layer is equipped with ballast stone, the third layer is placed in a fresh water cabinet, and the second layer is occupied. The bottom is pointed and the top is wide, the head is pointed and the tail is wide and the tail is raised on both ends. The tail seal structure is horseshoe-shaped, with both sides arched outward, with wide and flat decks, and the side is reinforced by thick boards of double logs. The main materials for shipbuilding are pine, fir, camphor, nanmu and other woods. Some Fu Ship has live water tanks on the bow or tail, and the cabin has holes near the full load water line. When the head or tail falls in the waves, the water flows through the living water tank; when the water rises, the water slowly flows out, reducing the rising speed of the ship to achieve the purpose of reducing pitching. The Fu Ship has good wave breaking performance and is suitable for deep-water navigation at sea.
The lucky ship also produces some ship types, such as the whistle ship (grass-slide ship), the winter ship (Haicang ship), the bird ship (wave ship), etc. There is a small type of bird ship called the Cangshan ship. The smallest of the winter ship is called the Cangshan ship, and the larger than Cangshan is called the Cangjiao.
Some people regard bird ships as an independent type, which is parallel to blessing ships, broad ships and sand ships, thus dividing my country's sea ships into four categories.
Sand boats are a flat-bottomed sea ship originated in Chongming, Shanghai. The characteristics of sand boats are: flat bottoms, square heads and square ferry, which are conducive to sand flow and are less hindered; shallow drafts and less affected by tides; large width and stability, with sloshing equipment such as slurry boards, hard water and straits; many masts and sails, and good speed. Since the bottom of the sand boat is flat, it cannot break the big waves, the main navigation area is the northern sea area.
Zhengliang finally chose to build a blessing ship. When Ming Guo and his party were about to return to their territory, he personally showed that he was thrilled by those huge blessing ships, so he had a deep memory of the navigation speed and combat power of the blessing ship.
However, since Japan's naval wars mostly took place in shallow sea areas, these blessed ships need to be further transformed to adapt to the local naval combat environment and navigation needs.
