349, the unforgivable person
The annual celebration of offering sacrifices to Arhaha is about to come. This is the grandest festival for the people of Salem. People from all over the world flock to the city of Salem to pray and thank the gods for their blessings. The sacrifice ceremony is also a folk carnival, and various celebrations last for a full seven days.
This celebration originated from a legend in history. Nearly four hundred years ago, when Moses led the ancestors of the Salem people back to his hometown, he was blocked by the evil gods of the alien race on the road, trapped in the mountains and could not move forward and had no food. Aroho showed a miracle, and the lu pearls on the grass leaves turned into small desserts like white frost balls, which tasted very delicious. Picking up these desserts every day just so that they could feed their tribes.
Moses, who had experienced all this personally, and the miners of Duke Town, knew that it was a god who claimed to be Barkri who was in youhuo, trying to make the miners of Duke Town betray his faith in the only god Arhat and believe in him. Moses took the Ten Commandments agreed with Arhat and smashed Barkri's plan. (Note: See Chapter 186 of this book, the appearance of the gods.)
But history has changed to this day. Moses' assistant and Aesop's friend Joshua collected various miracles about Arhat, the history of the tribes, praises of gods and other materials that were passed down among the people of Salem, and compiled a Bible of the Salem people, forming the later classics in the temple of Arhat. The desserts made from lu beads dripping from the grass leaves were food given to the tribes that Arhat showed the miracles - this is how the scriptures in the temple were recorded.
Not only that, when the miners in Duke Town left Eju, the main god of the Nine-Lian God Sate sent a series of obstructions, and Moses and others suffered a lot. In the current temple records, things have completely turned around. The series of "miracles" that blocked Moses and others' advances have become Arhaha's means to punish the Eju people, which is to block Eju's pursuit.
People have formed historical memories by word of mouth, as if only such legends can make their gods perfect. But the adaptation of history obviously also caused another question. If their god Arhaha was really so omnipotent, why did Moses and other tribes suffer so much? The temple priests explained that this was that God was testing the world. In fact, Ahméng himself had not yet transcended eternal life at that time, otherwise it would not be so difficult to bring Moses and others back to the Duke Plain.
Nearly four hundred years have passed, and every year when the legendary time comes, people from all over the world will flock to the Temple of Arhaha to thank the blessings that year and pray for more blessings to the gods. This celebration is also a folk festival, and at that time, the city of Salem will be crowded, so Joshua chose to go at that time.
Peter said, "Our guide, your decision is very wise. The savior assigned by God will inevitably encounter various hardships when he comes to this world. Satan will harm people, but many people respect and love you, and those enemies with sinister hearts dare not take action easily."
But Joshua shook his head and said, "When you choose the most people, it is not to let everyone protect me, but to let more people hear the echo of Arha and witness my appearance."
A few days before the celebration, Joshua led his disciples across the river to return to the village where Mary was located in the countryside of Bethany. It was the base where they stopped some time ago and was very close to the city of Salem, making it very convenient to go back and forth. After crossing the river this time, they took a road northerly than when they came, located among remote wild hills.
In a valley, they met a group of terrifying people. When they saw someone passing by, these people shrank in the shack made of branches and did not dare to face each other. Joseph stopped and ordered his disciples to ask who they were. As a result, those people heard that it was the Son of the Holy Son, Joseph passed by, walked out of the shack and knelt in the valley and begged, "Are you the Son? We have heard of your name and deeds. Please pity us and pray for your salvation!"
It turned out that these people had a strange skin disease, with terrible scars on their faces and bodies, and this disease would be contagious. The priests in Salem could not cure them, and were worried that more people would be infected with strange diseases, and ordered them to leave the city-state and live in seclusion in the wild. If they wanted to return to the city-state, they had to obtain the permission of the priests to confirm that their illness had been cured. Although the temple priests could not cure this disease, their detection magic could determine who had been sick and whether they had recovered.
This disease is indeed difficult to cure. Fortunately, they met Joseph today. John stretched out his hand and stroked it from everyone's head. His fingertips carried a faint, undetectable golden light into everyone's body, as if a gray mist dissipated, and then the terrible scars were scabbed and fell off.
Joshua waved his hand and said, "Now you can go back to Salem to meet the priests. After checking, the priests will declare that you have recovered."
The group of people jumped up in surprise, shouted and ran through the mountains and forests toward the northward city of Salem. They lived in despair for a long time. When they saw the priests in the city, they could reunite with their families as soon as possible. Everyone was so excited that they couldn't wait.
Joseph stood still and watched the figures of these people disappear in the mountains and jungles. Suddenly, a man turned around and ran back along the same path. He knelt down at the feet of Joseph and said, "Son, Messiah, the savior sent by God, please forgive me for your disrespect. He forgot to express my gratitude to you, and did not even leave my name and address. My name is Vel-Flom, and I live in Salem City. I eagerly hope that you will have the opportunity to visit my house. I will do my best to treat you and your disciples!"
Joseph looked at him and smiled, "I saved a group of people, where are the others? You are the only one who came back to express my gratitude to me, so I want to thank you too." As he said that, he reached out and helped him up and said, "Now you can go back. The celebration of the carnival is coming. On the last day of the celebration, please prepare a dinner for me and my disciples. We need a quiet and undisturbed place."
Weir left endlessly, and took steps and ran out of the forest quickly. Joshua turned to the disciples and said, "I saved that group of people, that was their harvest; and Weir ran back to thank him, this was my harvest."
Judas asked, “Dear guide, don’t you hold a grudge against those who have not been grateful to you?”
Joshua smiled bitterly and shook his head and said, "It doesn't matter if I hold grudges. I'm just saving them. I'm not dissatisfied with them. I'm full of sympathy for the suffering they endured. When I was cured, I didn't talk about the conditions for gratitude. When I cured my illness, I forgot them."
John asked again, "Then why do you want to thank Vale again?"
Joshua said solemnly: "Not holding a grudge does not mean that I will recognize it, and not needing to feel it does not mean that I do not accept it. Only by sincerely accepting such gratitude can more people imitate my behavior. Dear disciples, if I leave you in the future, you should also remember what happened today."
...
As the celebration approached, Joseph and his disciples returned to the village in Bethany. Martha and Lazareth prepared a sumptuous meal to welcome their return and celebrated that Jesus was about to go to Salem. That night, the disciples chatted and laughed and lived a happy life, only Maria was worried as if she was worried. After she put the dishes, she returned to the room, carefully packed up her jewelry, and quietly went out.
After John and others finished their meal, Mary came back, holding a large exquisite bottle in her hand, which contained the most precious balm. Joseph was sitting on the lounge chair by the table and resting. Mary walked to him and dripped the balm on the ends of Joseph's hair, and then dripped it on the barefoot of Joseph's barefoot. Then she leaned down and gently applied the balm on the instep of Joseph's feet with her long hair, and the courtyard was filled with fragrance.
This is a ceremony dedicated to the Messiah. Mary did this in public, and Joseph accepted it calmly. People realized that he was the Son who came to the world. Today, Mary did this again at home, which seemed unnecessary. Judas couldn't help but say, "This ointment is too expensive. Mary, you should keep the money for more useful things!"
Maria's face flashed with gloom. In fact, she knew better than Joshua's disciples. She was just expressing her mood in this way. Joshua said, "Let Maria do this. She is expressing her love and generosity for me, and will also become part of the legend."
When he saw this scene, the wise Judas vaguely guessed something and asked, "Dear guide, you should be very clear that your enemies hate and hate you. You once talked about the mercy and forgiveness of the Savior. Now I want to ask - what kind of person is unforgivable?"
Joseph sat upright with his back on his arm, and told his disciples a story—
There was an official who owed the king a huge sum of millions of dollars. The angry king ordered: "Sell him and his wife and children as slaves to repay the owed money."
The official knelt down and cried and begged: "Please be kind to you, your Majesty, I can't pay such a huge sum of money even if I sell it. Please wait patiently, I will definitely try to repay the debt."
The king knew that he could not afford it, but he felt pity and forgiven him. The official walked out of the palace and ran into a servant. He grabbed the servant and shouted, "When will you pay it back?"
The servant begged, "Please allow me to have a little more time. I will work hard and I will definitely pay it back."
But the official refused to let go. He grabbed the servant and roared, "The deadline has come, you have to pay back the money immediately, otherwise you have to go to jail." He arrested the servant and sent him to prison.
After hearing the news, the king said nothing and ordered people to send the official to prison.
The story ends here. Joshua looked around his disciples and said, "Thinking that one's actions should be forgiven, but one cannot forgive others equally. Such people are unforgivable."
