Chapter 103 The pursuit of Mongolian light cavalry

Li Laoer's Ming cavalry used the captured Jurchen bow to shoot two light arrows.

After two rounds of shooting, more than 600 Ming troops shot out 1,200 arrows in one breath. The dark long arrows flew into the sky like rain and fell to the heads of the Mongols. These Mongols from the Zarut tribe and the Bahrain tribe were not the Korqin tribe that married the Later Jin Dynasty. Most of the Mongol soldiers did not even have a piece of leather armor on their bodies. Huang Taiji wanted to dress up the Mongols, and he also gave priority to the Korqin people. As for the Zarut tribe and the Bahrain tribe, they would stand aside like the Tumots.

These Mongolian cavalry only had a thin cotton coat on them. To put it bluntly, they were a group of herders with zero defense.

The 1,200 feather arrows shot out by the Ming army fell, piercing the clothes of the defenseless Mongolians. The arrows reached the flesh. Only a scream could be heard in the horses. Two rounds of hanging shots, at least more than 300 Mongolians were caught off the horses.

"Let's attack! Kill the Tartars!" Li Laoer roared, loosened the reins with his hands, clamped the horse's belly with his feet, spread his hooves, and rushed out like a sharp arrow. Li Laoer pointed straight ahead with a long spear in his hand.

Six hundred heavy armored iron cavalry of the Ming Dynasty surged out of the small village like a tide, crashing into the middle of the formation of nearly 6,000 Mongolian cavalry. It was like a sharp steel knife, piercing the softest waist of the evil wolf, and cutting the 5,600 Mongolian cavalry into two pieces in half.

Li Laoer took the lead, holding a long spear in his hand, and stabbed a Mongolian cavalry in front of him.

The Mongolian cavalry was shocked and tied the reins. The war horse suddenly raised its hooves and stood up. Li Lao Er's horse spear had originally stabbed into the chest of the Mongolians, but it pierced into the neck of the war horse. The Mongolian horse made a sad neigh and fell to the right. The knight on the horse's back jumped off the horse and tried to escape, but Li Lao Er had already pulled back the horse's spear and swept the spear rod, knocking the Mongolian cavalry that had just landed on the ground and flew out.

The Mongols in panic took off their cavalry bows, slapped their bows, and shot them out in a burst of arrows, but the Mongols' light arrows could not penetrate the Ming army's iron cavalry in thick armor. Except for a few cavalry who were caught in the vital points because of their war horses, more than 600 cavalry had completely pierced the Mongol formation.

Han Dashan's war horse was also shot down. Before the war horse fell to the ground, he jumped and avoided the war horses that were flipping on the ground, so as not to be suppressed by the war horses.

But even though he lost his war horse, Han Dashan was also the best general! He waved his giant axe and caught up with a Mongolian cavalry who had not yet had time to lift his horse speed. He slashed it with a fierce axe from behind. The giant axe slashed in from the back of the Mongolian, splitting the Mongolian vertically into two pieces.

Then Han Dashan pulled the two-piece body off the horse, ran forward again, holding the axe in one hand with his left hand, grabbing the reins with his right hand, and jumping onto the war horse.

Li Hong, who was following closely behind, occasionally tapped his bow and arrows. With his advantage of riding a bow and shooting range exceeding the Mongols, he shot sharp arrows one after another. Within a few dozen breaths, he shot more than a dozen sharp arrows like lightning. The arrows were shot without any effort. More than a dozen Mongolians had a sharp arrow in their throats or faces, and they screamed and fell from the horse's back.

Although Cao Lei did not have the archery skills like Li Hong, his archery skills were much better than ordinary Mongolians. He held an eight-powered bow and kept setting off the bow, shooting the Mongolian soldiers who were shooting randomly from the horses one by one.

Li Laoer rushed around the Mongolian cavalry and horses, as if he had entered a no-man state. The Mongolians on the opposite side had no power to join forces. As long as they met, they would fall down from the horse's back.

Six hundred elite cavalry followed Li Laoer closely, and the war horses galloped, tiger-toothed swords, and other light sharp weapons were waving up and down in a daze. Wherever they passed, the Mongolians were irresistible and were beheaded one after another.

In dealing with the Mongolians, Li Laoer naturally asked his cavalry to give up heavy weapons such as maces, big axes, page hammers, iron hammers, iron bones, etc., and even the cavalry was too lazy to use the light tiger-toothed sword and the shoveled sword. The cavalry held the steel knife tightly and rushed over with the help of horsepower. With a knife, the sharp blade cut the Mongolians' clothes and cut their flesh as if they were cutting through paper. The Ming army cavalry rushed over, and the Mongolians either fell to the ground with their heads or their arms and thighs fell to the ground.

The slaughter of armorless Mongolian soldiers with sharp weapons is easier and cleaner than the Jurchen soldiers with blunt weapons and hard armor.

The Ming cavalry had almost no effort. As long as they used horsepower charge and cut through the sword, they could cut the heads of Mongolians into the sky.

You Dai's 2,100 Ming cavalry also turned around and launched a charge against the Mongolian cavalry who were killed in two pieces by Li Laoer and the others.

"Kill the Tartars!" You Dai roared and rushed to the first place. His fifty elite servants followed closely behind. Two thousand one hundred Ming cavalrymen trampled on the ground, making a roar like thunder, rushing towards the Mongolian cavalry.

The Mongols shot arrows with their bows and archers, and at least more than 100 Ming cavalrymen were dismissed. After all, the armour of the Ming Dynasty was not good. However, Yu Dai and his fifty servants stabbed more than a dozen arrows, which was useless. Each servant was an elite soldier who had spent a lot of money to build. They were wearing the best armor. The weak Mongols could not shoot through the armor of their servants.

The Mongolian cavalry, who were attacked on both sides, had lost their fighting spirit. They turned their horses and turned around and ran away.

"There is no need to chase after them, we can't catch up with them." Li Laoer called out Youdai, who was about to lead people to chase the Mongolians.

"What should I do if the Tartars turn back and stick to us?" Yu Dai asked.

"My brother, my man is cut off. This place is not far from Tongzhou. The Tartars dare not chase the city of Tongzhou. If they dare to follow, the cavalry of Yang Junmen can eat them." Li Laoer replied.

You Dai nodded, turned his head and raised his hand, "My sons, cut off the Tartars' heads and we will return to Tongzhou!"

This battle was a small victory. The Ming army beheaded more than 700 levels, seized more than 300 complete war horses, and took away more than 200 casualties. The Ming army suffered more than 130 casualties, Li Laoer's cavalry was injured, and none of them were killed or killed. You Dai's cavalry was killed more than 40 and more than 60 injured. The Ming army lost more than 100 war horses, but the seized war horses made up for the losses.

According to the principle, beheading more than 700 levels is considered a great victory for the Ming and Later Jin records, but those 700 levels are not even the Korqin Mongols, but they are just the Mongols who later surrendered to Huang Taiji, so beheading seven hundred can only be considered a small victory.

You Dai led the Ming cavalry to retreat first, while Li Laoer's iron cavalry broke the back behind.

The Mongolians indeed caught up again. Li Laoer ordered his brothers to dismount and shoot arrows, and use light arrows to stop the Mongols from chasing and harassing them.
