Chapter 10 Loyalty remains(1/3)

West of Hanling City, Garcia Province.

The originally quiet Blueberry Manor suddenly became lively this afternoon. More than a dozen maids shuttled through the garden and delivered each snack and fruit to a group of hungry wolves.

"I think life is really too illusory. What's wrong with this world?" Gavin lay on the soft chair, staring at the sky blankly, and sighed.

The son of the former commander of the Federal Army was a farmer who was complacent and could not escape the slaughter. This incident made him extremely depressed. Has this country really forgotten everything the soldiers on the front line had done?

"Yes, the orderly man of the lord actually became the gangster brother of the Alas Province. Life is really his bullshit," Cleo sneered, with a hint of disdain in his tone.

"Captain Cleo, you seem to mind being on par with a sergeant? If that's the case, you can't be the squad leader." Gavin said calmly. His more than ten years of gangster career had already developed his demeanor of being unlucky.

After the veterans of the Iron Blood Guard returned to the team, Lao Tai organized 25 people into three squads, and based on their years of experience, he appointed Cleo, Roll and Gavin as squad leaders. This decision aroused a lot of opinions among the veterans, and the focus of the conflict was on Gavin, the third squad leader. The Iron Blood Guard was the guard directly commanded by Marshal Langdon, and each of them was selected from millions of officers and soldiers. They were either from a noble family or became noble knights through military achievements.

After Gavin left the Iron Blood Guard, he was involved in the gangster. In their opinion, he had already insulted the glory of the Knight and the reputation of the Iron Blood Guard. How could he be the squad leader again?

The military orders were as high as a mountain, and Lao Tai did not give them a chance to speak. The veterans of the third squad had no choice but to remain silent and suppress their dissatisfaction in their hearts.

However, Cleo couldn't help it. According to the Iron Blood Guard's convention, the leader in the squad leader was here, and he was not afraid of saying a few words.

"Although the squad leader's position is small, he has to have a big butt to sit firmly." Cleo held up his wine glass and shook it gently.

"About this, you can try it at any time," Gavin responded without hesitation and humility. After returning to the team, his mood was always low.

The past scenes fifteen years ago were like a poisonous snake that devoured his heart.

"Gavin, you are very good at taking care of people. I'll be at ease if you keep your children."

"But, Grandmaster, I want to stay with you."

"Execute the command."

"Yes, Grandmaster"

Until the Marshal left, he was still a soldier who often loved to cry, far less powerful than other Iron Blood Guards.

People would never know that from the moment Langton helped him up on the street and led him home, the soldier regarded the marshal as his father.

"Master, why don't you let me stay?" How many times, he dreamed at midnight and often asked heart-wrenching questions. The marshal's departure made him shed tears and lived in endless hatred from then on. He didn't know who to hate, so he could only use blood and battle to numb himself, and eventually made his gangster's reputation famous.

"Is that right?" Cleo sneered, "then you have to find a chance to try it out."

"Or, I'll lend you two daggers and stab them now?" Roll, who was wiping the dagger in his hand intently, looked at the two of them coldly and asked.

"Young Master hasn't found it yet, you two still have the leisure to mess with each other." He stood up and lifted up the armor. Roll inserted the dagger in his hand into the inside of the armor. The nine daggers were arranged neatly, flashing with a bloodthirsty cold light.

"You are really a hedgehog." Cleo smiled awkwardly. The hedgehog was undeserved, because the Marshal once said that Major Roll was a man who never held grudges, and his enemies were lying in the grave.

"I'm afraid my body will be almost empty after soaking in wine for many years, right? It's better to practice by yourself, or I'll help you," Roll said coldly.

"You don't have to worry about this person, I'm worried about the young master." Gavin interrupted.

"Worry about the young master?" the two asked.

"Well. I don't know, if he can still use a sword after planting the field for a long time?" Gavin sighed, "Maybe our arrival will bring him a path of blood and fire."

"Even if we don't go, they won't let him go," Roll said in a deep voice. "After 15 years of calm, those people still don't give up on him."

"Please forgive me for being rude to the young master. But I really can't imagine the scene of a farmer taking a group of knights to fight," Cleo sighed in a low voice.

Gavin and Roll also remained silent.

"It's better to wait until Uncle Bernard comes back to see what the young master has to do." After Gavin finished speaking, he looked at the sky and became stunned.

Lao Tai sent Bernard to the door of the manor.

"We are waiting for the young master's instructions here. Tell the young master that regardless of life or death, the Iron Blood Guard will be with him."

Berner nodded: "Okay. However, after so many hardships, I think the young master has changed, he has his own opinions and is very good at it. You must be mentally prepared."

"Please rest assured about this." Lao Tai said, "No matter how he changes, he is still our young master, and the loyalty of the Iron Blood Guard will never change."

Na turned around and left with a heavy mood.

The marshal was far away, and the Iron Blood Guard still retained his loyalty to him. But for Arthur, this loyalty was the wealth left by his father and the kindness of Lao Tai and the others to him. He wanted to blend with the Iron Blood Guards, but the road was still long.

——

At dusk, when Link dragged his bruised body and walked into the yard with a staggering pace, Melena was cleaning up the fur of the monster that had been drying for a day in the yard.

"Why are you covered in injuries again?" Melena saw him, hurriedly threw the fur in her hand on the stone table, and rushed forward to hold him.

"Be gentle!" A knife-like pain came from his body, and Link couldn't help but let out a muffled groan.

"Is it William?" A trace of anger flashed in Melena's eyes.

Link smiled with difficulty and said, "Do you think he has that ability? I guess he hasn't figured out how it fell into my hands today."

"What the hell is going on?" Melena asked, helping him sit down.

"Isn't it all the trouble that the humble mouth is causing trouble." Link sighed in his heart.

"Is it worth it, sāo package?"

He silently admired the charming face in front of him. Melena's concern made him feel very warm and warm in his heart. "It seems worth it."

"Why are you asking me, why do you think of me? I have an answer on my face?" Melena said bitterly.

"I practiced the Fire Dragon Fraud again and beat myself up." Link said guiltily.

"Do you still dare to practice?" Melina felt dizzy and had a headache. "I forgot the painful lessons of everyone? Oh my God, what can I do to buy three or four copies of a silver coin in a bookstore and pick up trash? What are you thinking about, Link?"

"I was thinking, how great it would be if you didn't dress up so beautifully this morning." Link felt so worried.

Just because I looked at her more, I would be beaten every day from now on. Is this worthy of it?

"Lying down for a while, can't you worry about it if I bring you dinner?" Melena helped him into the room.

At night, Ryan has not returned yet.

"Why should I tell my father what happened in the town today?"

"From this matter, Link's quality is fine, and he has good talent. Will his father agree to teach him martial arts after he knows it?"

"No matter what, I have to find a way to make Link give up practicing the Flame Dragon Law. I can't watch him be killed by this mental method."

"Link, what kind of person are you? How many mystery are you?"

Melena sat in the hall with her cheeks in her arms, patiently waiting for her father to come back, while thinking about it.

"Crunch"

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Melena hurriedly turned around.

"Dad, where have you been?"

"I'll go see your mother and spend a while with her. I haven't slept so late yet, so I'm looking for me if I have something to do, but I'll have something to say to me?" Ryan took off his coat and hung it on the coat rack, came to the table, and looked at his daughter with a smile.

"Are you going to accompany your mother?" Melina said in surprise. Although her mother's grave is very close, her father doesn't go there often, and he doesn't want to disturb her rest. Only when he has something to worry about will he stay in front of the grave alone and talk to her.

"Um."

"Dad has any worries, can you tell me?" Melena said coquettishly.

"I just want to tell your mother that her daughter is older and she is as beautiful as hers. She is more heart-warming as a father." Ryan said meaningfully as he looked at her with a smile.

"Where is it?" Melena said unyieldingly.

"Have Link slept?" Ryan asked.

"Well. Dad, that guy is really desperate. Today he actually practiced the Fire Dragon and said--"

"Is he sleeping well?" Ryan interrupted his daughter.

"I'm sleeping soundly and I'm still snoring. This freak, when I came back in the afternoon, I still-"

"It seems that you are waiting for me not because you are worried about your father, but because of him, right?" Ryan quipped with a smile. No one knows his daughter, and her unusual concern for Link shows that this mysterious boy has already pulled her heart.

"Of course I'm worried about you," Melena argued with a red face.

"It seems that tomorrow morning, he will jump around in front of me again." Ryan sighed in his heart, "Has he really found a way to practice?"

"Dad, we went to the town today and something happened." Melena decided to tell her father about the fight and then gain opportunities for Link to practice.

"I saw it all." Ryan nodded, "I must admit that his performance was far beyond my expectations."

Melena was a little surprised: "Dad, are you there at that time?"

En nodded and smiled, "My friend and I were all in the teahouse next to me. It was right that you didn't take action at that time, otherwise there wouldn't be such a brilliant show."

"I want to take action, Link said that this is an experience that they must grow up. Only when the inner demons are eliminated will the world become wider." Thinking of Link's words, Melena couldn't help but feel a little excited.

Ryan was shocked when he heard this. Only when the inner demons were eliminated will the world become wider. "In recent years, my fighting spirit practice has no longer been able to make a breakthrough. It is rare that it is because of the inner demon?"

He asked hurriedly, "What else did he say?"

"He also told Peter and Robin that in the battle, the most terrifying thing is not the enemy, but the inner timidity and cowardice, no matter how strong the opponent is, you must have the courage to fight! You don't even have this courage and are not worthy of being a man," Melena said again.

The daughter's words made Ryan fall into deep thought. As her understanding of Link deepened, more and more accidents became more and more, and surprises continued to come with the accident.

"He was right. The biggest enemy of a cultivator is often himself. Only those who are not afraid of failure and have the courage to fight against powerful enemies have the hope of becoming a first-class warrior." Ryan praised. He still didn't understand why Link had such a deep understanding of combat.

"Dad, there is another most amazing thing." Melena said happily, "He actually subdued William with a few embroidery needles he took from me. You know, that's a magic warrior. Under normal circumstances, even if he doesn't wear crystal armor and doesn't have to fight, he can easily deal with more than a dozen ordinary people alone."

"Showing weakness, distracting spirit, creating momentum, excitement, choosing the opportunity, hitting the target, talent, this young man in front of him grasps the details of the battle, and he is simply a superb state." Hannah's evaluation of Link was quite accurate, because Ryan also noticed these details in the battle. This discovery gave him a strong shock and became more and more curious about Link's background.
