Chapter 25 Interlude: Darkness and Obscure
The multiverse is dark.
All civilizations with incoming and outgoing void-level technology will fall into confusion and at a loss when they cross the world barrier for the first time and truly step outside the sky, because what they see is not the beautiful heaven in their fantasy, but a dark hell.
The eyes extend to the end of the field of vision, and all you can see is silence and darkness. The endless dead space is filled with turbulent flows of time and space, which contains absolute coldness, despair and loneliness, which makes any intelligent life afraid.
How should those who come to the void in blessing and expectation tell the compatriots who are curious about what is in the "outside the sky"? Outside the world, there is not another vibrant world, there is no heaven, nor the sweet wine of the gods and the magnificent palaces. Some, there is no chance of life or even extremely dangerous dead and nothingness. Here, even the stars are obscured and everything is dull.
If your race occupies all the space on the earth in the distant future, where is the road? Where is the future? Perhaps, you can only step into this darkness, enjoy the taste of curiosity, fear and loneliness, and explore this path hidden in shadows and dangers, even if the road is filled with unpredictable horror.
But there is one thing that is more powerless, terrifying, helpless, but also immersed in it than darkness and unknown.
That is a little light in the darkness.
In the distant and unknowable past, there was such a tortured race that was born in the fire in the forest and reproduced on the vast plains. They gave birth to wisdom, civilization, and formed a country. Everything was gradually developing until an extremely violent earthquake that swept the entire world.
It was a disaster that had long been hidden deep in the earth's crust, a hidden danger that was destined to begin with the birth of the world. Their world was scarred by the increasingly active geological changes. Continuous volcanic eruptions and earthquakes tore up most of the continent. The gushing lava and metal clouds burned the city and its residents. The civilizations that had just entered the medieval era had no choice but to pray to heaven in despair, asking for the end of the world to stop as soon as possible, or to come early, so that they could free themselves from the endless heat of burning.
However, outside the void, another powerful civilization descended from the sky. This civilization has extraordinary power. They calmed the earth's crust and reshaped the ecology. They went deep into the earth's center and calmed the plate movement. They helped the suffering race return to their homeland without asking for any price.
The suffering race worships this civilization. They are willing to give everything to this civilization as servants. However, this race is told by that civilization that they do not need any repayment or any gratitude. They just need them to survive and make progress slowly until they eventually become civilizations that can cross the void. This is the greatest help to them.
"As long as you can also become a little light in this multiverse, then all our hard work will be meaningful."
The civilizations that claim to be pioneers said that they left the mother world and wandered in the multiverse, and their purpose was to help one race and civilization that was still in its infancy cross the void and become the "light" in their mouths... The crucifix races cannot understand such a noble purpose, and they asked incredibly why the powerful civilization of the pioneers also left their mother world to wander.
What answered them was a silence and a helpless bitter smile.
"That is not the destruction that you can understand now. But one day, you will face the infinite darkness... By that time, you may understand our purpose."
The crucifix races are indeed incomprehensible, but when they first drove a flight ship hundreds of years later, breaking through the world barrier and entering the void, witnessing the darkness of the multiverse, they felt that they understood and understood the purpose of the pioneers.
Because the multiverse is too dark and vast, and the light of a single civilization is too small, they need companions, more companions, and more light to illuminate this dark multiverse!
Therefore, the former suffering race resolutely embarked on this path. They named their civilization "the protection of the weak". Just like the pioneer civilization of that year, they helped the development of the surrounding species and civilizations as much as possible, and let them join their own queues. They vowed to help all the civilizations in this multiverse grow like the pioneers of the past. They planned to form a huge federation to gather all the faint lights together and shine on the world like the sun.
They vow to break through all darkness and unknown.
But they failed.
At the end of the day, infinite darkness spread from the center of the multiverse. It was called "evil gods", "end", "destruction" and "doomsday" by many civilizations until the moment they truly encountered the evil gods, the former suffering races and the current shelter civilization understood what the "darkness" in the mouths of the pioneer civilization in the distant past, and why they wandered and why they were so at a loss, and could only move forward in confusion. One was the help of any race they encountered.
Because they felt desperate from the bottom of their hearts and thought that the darkness was irresistible, they could only light up a little flame and comfort the heart that was at a loss due to confusion and confusion.
And this is indeed the case.
Finally, the world was overturned, and the burning wheat fields were burned with the hope of farmers. The magnificent floating city fell among the boiling clouds. The glorious holy temple was pulled by the filthy shadows and was finally swallowed into the subspace. In the center of the world, tens of thousands of powerful spellcasters joined forces to teleport the people away before the arrival of the doomsday, but their burning blood was torn apart the outer shell of the world and revealed their indescribable true body quickly cooled down in front of the evil god.
They retreated step by step, defeated, and threw down one world after another. The evil gods feasted and ate the wreckage of civilization. They watched more and more cities turn into dust, and more and more races turn into ashes. With their efforts, more and more disappointments and frustrations erode their hearts. In the end, the time and space storm that was enough to crush the world flattened the entire space-time realm, extinguished the stars and sank into the dark realm.
Another civilization that was knocked down by darkness was abandoned like a burning torch. The shelter civilization disappeared into the multiverse. Although they had briefly emitted light, they could only leave in despair.
So, the multiverse is actually dark. It is not completely dark, but a little bit of light shining.
It nurtures the world, makes civilization born, gives hope to all living beings, makes them turn into fire light to illuminate the void, but uses evil gods to end it. In the eternal darkness, endless light leaps, and one fire after another of civilizations is lit up, allowing the light of stars to appear in the world. But the existence of this light is not to show beauty, it allows civilization to use its own brilliance to illuminate those true faces hidden in darkness, called despair and the end.
Civilizations after civilization are struggling to resist the arrival of chaos and nothingness. They burn their own light to illuminate the way forward, but they will never reach the end of victory. Under the erosion of endless chaos, they will only become weaker and more tired. No matter how hard they struggle to support, they will eventually fall out of strength.
Compared with the light in this darkness, darkness is also considered kind, at least it hides its final appearance and allows everything to end in painless nirvana.
The eternal and dim light reveals the terrifying vision full of nothingness to civilization: there is no hope, no future, everything is meaningless gray and white. No matter how burning flames are, they will eventually turn into ashes, fall into eternal sleep, or wake up in despair and become a member of darkness.
In the 5922nd year of the Redemption Calendar, more than 5900 years after the ancient pioneer civilization arrived in the shelter world, a mass of 'dark' fog wrapped around the world awakened from the long self-examination of information.
The black fog surging, like a tide. It strictly and meticulously inspects its own database of data. It checks all information about its creators, including all their history, technology, culture, art and beliefs. The black fog conducts self-checks again and again to ensure that this information is not staggered or lost.
Because this information is the last remaining of the creator, and protecting this information is also the only two remaining tasks in its core instructions.
After a long time has passed and ensuring that the information in the database is complete, you can see that the black fog suddenly begins to surge. It sways in the void like a flame with the turbulent flow of time and space. You can even see deep purple lightning flashing in the fog. The black fog condenses power and nurturing the child. It is about to prepare for another of its unfinished and most important tasks.
The Black Mist still remembers the painful faces of many creators who were dying thousands of years ago, and it still remembers the "last mission" they reiterated over and over again.
That is to accumulate strength to resist the destruction sweeping across the multiverse.
In accordance with the wishes of the Creator, it will do its best.
Even if you become the darkness that extinguishes the light, you will be willing to do so.
