167 The Design of the New Mecha (Part 2)

The fourth-generation AKM anti-monster missile is equipped with a total of 36 shells.

But in the entire mecha design, what Lin Feng pays most attention to is not the mecha power system, operating system or weapon system, but the design of the mecha legs.

At the beginning, the reason why Lin Feng was interested in Zhang Xiaojiang's mecha model was because he installed springs on the mecha legs.

With the spring, the mecha's bounce ability can be greatly increased, allowing Lin Feng to use the leg attack movements when fighting.

But a simple spring is not enough, so Lin Feng must print something new.

That is the hydraulic system.

The function of the hydraulic system is to increase the force by changing the pressure. A complete hydraulic system consists of five parts, namely the power element, the actuator element, the control element, the auxiliary element (attachment) and the hydraulic oil.

Hydraulic systems can be divided into two categories: hydraulic transmission system and hydraulic control system. Hydraulic transmission system mainly functions to transmit power and motion. Hydraulic control system must make the output of hydraulic system meet specific performance requirements (especially dynamic performance). The commonly referred to as hydraulic system mainly refers to hydraulic transmission system.

What Lin Feng needs is also a hydraulic transmission system.

Hydraulic transmission system has similar functions as springs, but its performance is stable than that of springs.

In hydraulic transmission systems, the most important part is actuators (such as hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors).

The function of the actuator is to convert the pressure energy of the liquid into mechanical energy and drive the load to perform linear reciprocating or slewing motion.

Actuators are the main part of the hydraulic transmission system and the most difficult part.

Because it needs to carry a weight of several thousand tons of mecha, the quality of the actuator is quite high.

There are many advantages of hydraulic transmission systems, such as small size and light weight, high stiffness, high accuracy, fast response, etc.

However, its disadvantages are also quite obvious. For example, it is sensitive to temperature changes, has hidden dangers of leakage, is difficult to manufacture, high cost, etc.

If you want to carry a weight of thousands of tons of mecha, you must design more than ten hydraulic transmission devices on the soles of the mecha. Moreover, for the actuators in the hydraulic transmission device, the most advanced materials must be used, otherwise the cylinder may explode.

Lin Feng can only place this kind of material on the yttrium ore on Skull Island.

Simply put, the hydraulic transmission system is used to replace the function of the spring and is equipped with a device that adds a bounce function to the legs of the mecha.

Among the current mechas, hydraulic transmission systems are used in many places, but no one is currently considering applying hydraulic transmission systems to the legs of the mechas.

In other words, the attack method of mecha legs depends on the coordination of mecha drivers and is the blind spot of the entire mecha industry at present.

Only Lin Feng would notice this. After all, his nerve strength value is too high, so there is no need for so-called coordination to drive a mecha.

Because after several months of precipitation, Lin Feng already had the design direction of a new mecha in his mind, so the design of a new mecha was not difficult for him at all.

In just one day, Lin Feng has completed the concept map of the new mecha.

He is 112 meters tall and weighs about 7,800 tons. Looking at the concept picture, he looks like a strong man with a strong figure. He can also feel like a cyclops because of his large one-eyed design.

Compared with the agile route Lin Feng took before, this mecha has the characteristics of a defensive mecha, and the protection thickness of the main parts of the mecha is 120cm-360cm.

That is 1.2 meters to 3.6 meters, which is comparable to the Beihai branch mecha.

This defense thickness is something that I couldn't imagine in the past [Chixiao], but Lin Feng could not have designed it like this when he designed [Chixiao] because he didn't have that much money to get such thick armor at that time.

Although the armor is very thick and will obviously slow down the speed of the mecha, Lin Feng had to abandon the setting of the speed mecha, because the wings on the back of the mecha were destined to be impossible for this new mecha to take an agile route.

The martial arts in the world are invincible, but only fast is not broken.

It’s just a pity that this concept picture is not complete, because it lacks the design of back wings, which makes people feel that the new mecha is always disadvantageous.

I believe that with the manufacturing experience of [Chixiao], the company's technical supervisors can complete the manufacturing of core parts of the mecha according to their own design requirements.
