Chapter 4 The current enemy

"Clang!"

With a loud bang, Russell Westbrook hung on the basket of a street court.

In the distance, Li Ke, who had just been passed by Westbrook.

"Russell, can you tell me how you jump so high?"

Westbrook pulled down the basket again, and the basket rack roared.

After landing, he grinned at Li Ke: "I don't know, maybe it's born?"

Then he turned the topic to Li Ke: "It's you, Sheldon, why have you been so fast recently?"

Li Ke knew that Westbrook would have this question sooner or later, so he had already thought of the answer: "It's nothing, I just adjusted my running posture and pace frequency."

Westbrook nodded suddenly.

On the other side, Li Ke opened his hand: "It's time for me to attack, give me the ball."

After all the questions and answers just now, Li Ke failed to get the answer he wanted from Westbrook.

After that trial, he and Westbrook were doing holiday practices, preparing for the next NCAA debut season, although they had not completed school selection.

Li Ke has never found a good solution for the training of empty cutting.

He could only wait for the evening when the street court was filled with streetballers. He and Westbrook joined a streetball team and conducted targeted training during many-to-many battles.

He seemed to have no other way.

In addition to the training of empty cuts, Li Ke also wants to try: Can daily training help him develop one or two currently known minimum level D skills or talents?

His targets aimed at the three-pointers of the skill group and the bounce of the talent group respectively.

I have practiced for a few days, but I haven't gained anything yet.

During the holiday training days, two groups of guests came to Westbrook's family, one of whom was the head of admissions at the University of Southern California, with the target of Russell.

Although it is not a traditional prestigious school, USC also has a star player in the best team of the Pacific Ten Schools League like Nick Young. She also grabbed San Fernando's star high school student Tagibson in this freshman recruitment. Her strength next season cannot be underestimated.

So Russell put Southern California on the list of considerations.

Old Westbrook even believed that Russell should make a decision.

But Russell was still waiting, and Li Ke knew what Russell was waiting for.

Another group of recruiting admissions leaders was an acquaintance who had met once.

"We're meeting again, Russell, I don't know what you're thinking."

Stanford University's Crimson coach Jamie Lin, sitting in the living room of Westbrook's house, smiling.

Westbrook shook his head with apologies: "Sorry, Coach Lin, I still want to seek a full scholarship."

Although he was rejected, Jamilly was not so frustrated and said with a smile: "It doesn't matter, you just need to make the decision you want, there is no need to apologize to anyone."

Then he turned his eyes to Li Ke and stretched out his right hand to Li Ke: "Sheldon Li, I know you, you are Lu Jinge's starting striker."

Li Ke never expected Jamie Lin to talk to him. He was stunned for a moment and replied: "Hello, Coach Lin."

"That's right, I've seen some Russell videos, and in those videos, your performance is very average, but last week's trial, you impressed me, and I think if you can keep your performance in last week's trial, you have the ability to be a part of the Crimson team."

Is this an invitation?

That's right, this is the invitation.

Li Ke reacted. The first thing he thought of was whether this was an invitation to a full scholarship.

The next second, he denied this idea.

What a joke, Russell can't get the full scholarship from Stanford, so why should he?

Sure enough, Jamie Lin then explained: "It's just an ordinary invitation, not any kind of scholarship. Of course, like Russell, you can also apply for Stanford's academic scholarship, and I believe your GPA is enough."

Li Ke immediately understood Jamie Lin's idea. Obviously, Jamie Lin knew that Li Ke was an international student from China and was able to afford the high tuition fees of Stanford University. He believed that Li Ke would not have too high demand for scholarships, and Stanford was a traditional NCAA school. The invitations they issued were too attractive to high school players of Li Ke's level.

But he never expected that Li Ke now is no longer Li Ke a week ago.

"Sorry, Coach Lin, like Russell, I would rather get a full scholarship."

Li Ke rejected Jamie Lin, which was beyond everyone's expectations, and even Old Westbrook was stunned.

He did not give any explanation, but shrugged and spread his hands.

For Jamie Lin, Li Ke's rejection was beyond his expectations.

But the failure of this recruitment will not suffer any loss to him and the Crimson team. It is just an attempt to strengthen the bench, and it doesn't matter if it fails.

After Jamilly left, there were no scouts or admissions staff at Westbrook's house for several days.

Another week later, Old Westbrook saw a message from the newspaper.

“UCla organized a basketball game and they sent invitations to high school students across California, which might be an opportunity.”

At the dining table, Li Ke saw Russell Westbrook sitting next to him and quietly clenched his fists.

Li Ke knew that Russell's turnaround was coming.

As for himself, the road from level d to level b to level b is still far away in the system.

"I'm afraid I don't have any chance to practice before entering NCAA..."

Li Ke rationally analyzed the current situation for himself. He knew that he could not wait as stubbornly for an invitation from a prestigious university as Westbrook.

"If there is an invitation to a full scholarship like the University of Southern California, you can accept it."

The basketball game organized by UCL is called AA Basketball Game, which is held at UCL's home court, Poly Hall.

The final list of players who participated was released the day before the game. Li Ke and Westbrook were both successfully selected and were assigned to the same group.

On this list of participating, Li Ke saw another familiar name.

"James Harden?"

"He also participated in this game. Isn't he just in his third year of high school?"

Li Ke and Westbrook both have the same questions.

"UClah doesn't require high school graduates to participate in this game, so..."

Li Ke and Westbrook's faces became solemn. Chase Badinger was called the No. 1 high school student in California, but in fact, he was only the first among the 2006 graduates.

The real number one high school student in California is nothing but James Harden, who made this year's California champion belong to Lakewood Adesia High School led by Harden.

"A great enemy, but defeating such an opponent can attract the attention of ncaa's famous schools."

Apart from Harden, there are no other names on this list that Li Ke feels familiar to him in 2020, but in 2006, Li Ke and Westbrook feels familiar to him.

But they didn't take this group of opponents seriously.
