Act 17 Poison Soup

Doug returns to the New Haven Hotel.

The waiter who had figured out his daily travel habits was standing in the lobby to greet him in full spirit.

When Doug saw him, he did not ask how he was painting, but said, "Prepare hot water, I want to take a shower."

"Are you still a shower? Sir?" asked the waiter.

"still."

"Okay, wait a moment." The waiter ran to prepare.

Doug unscrewed the handle, closed the door, lifted the carpet and took a look, making sure the flour was still even and no one had come in. He put the civilized cane and suitcase in place.

He still lacks trust in this world.

Whether it is the security guards and female workers they hire today, Hull and Jimmy, even Tom and Williams cannot believe it.

He put all the price tags on everyone he knew in his heart. Even if these people trust Doug very much, Doug would still sell them as long as the price is right.

It's not about feelings, it's about interests.

He clearly understood that this is a world where people cannibalize people, and the rules of the game are like this. Being kind to others is the greatest cruelty to himself.

"Dongdong."

"Sir, the bath water is ready." The waiter said outside the door.

"Thank you." Doug said politely, not having any cost. He opened the door, and the waiter outside the door had golden butter hair as delicate as yesterday.

Doug asked, “How are you practicing?”

"It's okay... sir! Don't worry! I will practice the best before the time you specified!" The waiter showed a little timid first, and then promised.

"Keep working hard." Doug said that, and threw out a Mexican silver coin. The silver-white coin of the Mexican silver coin was spinning in the air, reflecting the warm light of whale oil turned into a stream of light and fell into the hands of the waiter.

"Thank you sir!" The waiter who received the silver coins said sincerely.

"Don't thank me for now," Doug waved his hand, "I have a new task to you. I want you to put all the newspapers you can collect in front of me when I have breakfast tomorrow morning."

"Yes! Sir!" the waiter replied.

Doug was not at ease with his answer. He felt that the waiter answered too quickly and might not have remembered it. He said calmly, "You repeat it."

"I... no! Sir, please tell me to hand over all the newspapers I can find to you!" the waiter replied.

When he finished answering, Doug's face still did not improve.

In the awkward atmosphere, the waiter gritted his teeth and thought for a long time before saying, "You asked me to hand over all the newspapers to you while you have breakfast."

Doug's expression was soothing, and he said to the waiter, "Madison, I hope that when I give you something, I will not be busy answering me first, but first understand what I want you to do and what details are.

What I need is a person who is serious and reliable in his work, not a person who is talking big in the sky.

Do you understand what I mean?"

"I understand! Sir! I understand!" The waiter Madison just finished answering, and his face turned pale even more nervously because he realized that he was responding again soon.

Although Doug didn't say anything clearly, he was already telling him that if he was not reliable, he would not be able to complete the assigned tasks.

Then Mr. Doug will go find someone else to do it.

Whether in the United States or New Haven, what is lacking is people, and what is not lacking is also people.

Mr. Doug is so rich that he only needs to wave his hand again. He lost this opportunity and didn't know how long it would take to be valued next time.

Doug looked at the waiter's appearance and knew that his words had worked, so he stopped talking and closed the door.

Brush your teeth and take a shower.

The bathroom was filled with mist, and soap made of whale oil was applied to the body, carrying the dirt on its body and was sent to the floor drain by the water sprayed from the shower.

Doug wiped his body clean with a bath towel, and lay down on it and fell asleep quickly.

Fortunately, my body is very young. Although I was quite tired from running around the day before, when the alarm rings, my body is once again full of strength.

Wash in cold water, put on clothes, bring equipment, and rearrange the small warning mechanism in the house.

Doug, who seemed to be no different from yesterday, came to the restaurant.

There are many people in the restaurant. In this era when the lights were not invented and large-scale use, even the relatively wealthy class in the United States did not immerse themselves in nightlife.

Doug looked at the colorful food and carefully selected the food.

Doug didn't even want to try those vegetable soups that were brighter than the green leaves on the trees.

Doug dares not eat bread that looks unusually white and tender and has a bit too low price.

The history of food fraud runs through the entire history of human development.

The industrial revolution that broke out from Britain provided a hotbed for the use of industrial raw materials for food fraud.

In the end, Doug chose the seemingly reliable whole wheat bread and a glass of milk.

The taste of whole wheat bread is not as delicate as white bread, nor does it contain wood sawdust in traditional recipes like black bread.

Although the milk in this large wooden cup is too sticky to taste, as if it is added with potato flour, it at least does not taste bad.

"Bang!"

Waiter Madison unloaded the sack he carried onto the ground.

The thick sack was bulging, and the height of the newspaper inside was one meter.

The waiter said tiredly, "Sir! I have sorted out the newspaper you want!"

"Very good." Doug Hui praised without any effort, and asked casually, "Have you eaten?"

"Eat." The waiter who had not eaten replied.

When Doug was taking a shower and sleeping yesterday, Madison had already thought about it. Don’t look at Doug, a young master, who looks kind and doesn’t care about his superiors or inferiors. But who is the big man who hopes that his followers will not respect him?

Doug was just a little polite. Since the waiter said he had eaten, he should just think he had eaten.

He took another mouthful of sticky milk, and suddenly thought of the green vegetable soup. When the waiter in front of him was also from the hotel, he might know something. He asked, "Do you know which vegetable soups are so green?"

"You said that?" the waiter confirmed at the vegetable soup in the distance.

“Yes, that’s that.”

"Don't you know?" Madison wanted to slap himself a few words as soon as he said these words, because it seemed to be mocking Mr. Doug's ignorance. He remedyed, "A noble person like you must have never done such a low-key job as cooking. The vegetable soup is so green because copper slices were placed in the process of cooking the soup.

Don't you think green soup has more appetite?

Do you want me to serve a bowl for you?”
