The cylinder diameter of the "Southern Giant-2" type steam engine reaches 2.2 meters and has a stroke of 3.5 meters. When completing 8 reciprocating strokes per minute, the maximum power generated is 220 horsepower. The construction and installation of the "Southern Giant" series is also a major project for the East Coast, which is developing rapidly with each passing day. The amount of steel consumed by a steam pump may be larger in some European cities in a year, and the size is relatively large. There are many things to consider when installing it. In short, it reflects the current level of engineering construction and installation on the East Coast. Without the many engineers and skilled workers trained in the 50 years since the founding of the country, such a project is impossible to complete. It is reported that the Qingdao Water Plant ordered is even larger and advanced. The diameter of its cylinder has reached 2.85 meters (the stroke is also 3.5 meters). Eight boilers provide steam to it, which can solve the current problems of insufficient industrial, agricultural and civil water supply in Qingdao County. Moreover, this "Southern Giant" steam water pump of Qingdao Water Plant also reserves room for upgrading, that is, if the pressure in the cylinder is too high in the future, the second or even the third cylinder, namely the re-swelling and three-swelling cylinder, is still relatively advanced in general.

Of course, the East Coast people have achieved much more than this in steam engines. In fact, thanks to the continuous improvement of material technology and processing levels, the East Coast people have begun to manufacture many small high-speed steam engines, such as the high-speed steam engine used by Dongdian Company to generate electricity for small experimental generators.

In the past, in order to provide power to small power generators, Dongban people used belt transmission to draw power from the transmission shaft of a large low-speed steam engine and then drive high-speed generators. However, this method is more dangerous, and because the speed regulation accuracy is not high enough, the generated voltage is very unstable, which greatly affects subsequent research and debugging work. In addition to this high-speed steam engine used in power generation devices, Dongban people have also made great progress in the use of high-speed steam engines for machine tools. Over the years, more than ten derivative models have been developed, laying a solid foundation for the improvement of the machining industry. In these complicated models, there is a "very interesting" steam engine that is the most eye-catching. It is a steam engine with three cylinders fixed in a vertical plane in a radial shape. The angle between each cylinder is 120 degrees, and the power is generally from a few horsepower to dozens of horsepower, and the speed is always 500 revolutions per minute, which is very amazing.
