Chapter 47: Strange Stones

Chapter 47 The strange stones

After the complete set of optical cable production equipment was in place, Panshi Heavy Industry's employees began to start the experiment on the machine according to the training content. Within one week, they mastered the basic operations and entered trial production and operation.

According to Fan Wubing's request, Davis and others went to the production workshop in the factory from time to time to encourage everyone.

The weather has gradually become hotter, and this summer seems to be coming earlier. Fortunately, Fan Wubing spared no effort in the construction of Panshi Heavy Industry. He installed high-power central air-conditioning equipment in all necessary office areas and factories, which greatly improved the production environment. Davis and others led most members of the company's union to provide logistics services and personally delivered large buckets of mung bean soup and chrysanthemum tea and other summer materials to the production workshop.

During this period, Fan Heng also went to Panshi Heavy Industry on behalf of the municipal government for two rounds, encouraging everyone to devote themselves to the production of optical cables, stand up as soon as possible from the difficulties, and recreate the glory of the old Pingyuan people.

Because Fan Heng was at the Plain Factory, which was the most glorious period of the Plain Factory, he came to Panshi Heavy Industry many times to cheer and cheer for the employees in trouble, and solved many practical difficulties for the employees in trouble. Everyone supported him. In order to respond to the city's call and get rid of the loss situation as soon as possible, the workers also spontaneously organized and consciously worked overtime, hoping to make a profit before next month.

When Fan Wubing came to Panshi Heavy Industry with Davis and Tian Zhenglun, he saw a busy labor scene. It seemed that everyone was rejuvenated by the start of new projects, including many old technicians who had become models of labor in the Plain Factory, and everyone was racing against time to start production.

"This kind of scene is hard to see in the United States unless you are willing to pay more extra." Davis said to Fan Wubing with some emotion.

"It's not difficult to understand. Years of publicity have made everyone accustomed to dedication." Tian Zhenglun has also been to the United States and knows that Americans pay special attention to labor protection. Overtime work is absolutely impossible if they do not receive the recognition of trade unions and workers' representatives.

In the United States, the law is refined into every job. In addition to the legal working time, even if one more minute is added, it will be considered to be exploitation of workers. Even if there are necessary conditions for overtime and the employer is willing to pay the corresponding remuneration, if the worker himself is unwilling to work overtime, then this matter cannot be done.

Chinese people are different. All previous enterprises should belong to the state. As the master of the country, would you still need more rewards because you did more work for yourself? That would be a shame! Therefore, working overtime in China is a very normal phenomenon. This phenomenon has been silently maintained under the unspoken rules until decades later.

Of course, at this time, many of the people they serve are no longer national entities, but some private business owners or some foreign capitalists.

Thinking of the tragic phenomena that followed, Fan Wubing couldn't help but shake his head. Alas, most Chinese people, the genetic factors flowing in their blood are obedient. Chinese people who have been accustomed to obeying the people for thousands of years have no idea what kind of protection a labor law can provide for themselves. A labor law itself does have too many problems. It is too general and too elegant, so general that it is not a little targeted, so elegant that it seems that it was not formulated for workers in the real world.

Fan Wubing sighed while sighing, and accompanied by Tian Zhenglun and Davis, he visited the optical cable production workshop to visit the entire optical cable production process.

"The manufacturing process of optical cables is simple, but it is actually very complicated." Tian Zhenglun quickly became the general manager of the company. After a period of study, he had a full understanding of optical cable production. At this time, he introduced to Fan Wubing according to the production process, "The first step is to screen optical fibers, the purpose is to select optical fibers with excellent transmission characteristics and qualified tension. During the screening process, optical fibers that pass tension screening can be used as qualified optical fibers for cable formation. Secondly, various plastics, reinforcement component materials, metal bandages used for cable formation are those of plastic-coated aluminum tapes or plastic-coated steel tapes, fillers, etc., to check whether the appearance and spare length are qualified."

Fan Wubing looked along the direction of Tian Zhenglun's finger and directly looked like a professional production equipment, which seemed to be used to measure tension. He was testing alternative light samples, and it was said that the tension range was about 600.

Next, we saw the dyeing process of optical fibers. The purpose of dyeing is to facilitate the identification of optical fibers and facilitate the continuous operation of optical fibers during construction and maintenance. The optical fiber units in optical cables, optical fibers in units, and insulated cores in conductive wire groups are all identified using full chromatography. The color chart used for identification is very clear, and it will not fade even when encountering high temperatures and will not migrate to other adjacent optical cable components.

"Then it is secondary extrusion. The purpose is to make casings for optical fibers, including tight casings and loose casings. Generally, plastic with low expansion coefficient is used to extrude into a certain size of pipes, which can be incorporated into moisture-proof and waterproof gels. Secondary extrusion requires plastic with high elastic modulus and low expansion coefficient. The tension and excess length design of single fibers into the pipe must be well controlled to ensure that the fiber after the plastic has excellent temperature characteristics at low temperatures. The fiber of the secondary extrusion after secondary extrusion must be stored for more than two days to cause a slight shrinkage of the plastic tube in the outer jacket and slowly solidify and stabilize it." Tian Zhenglun then introduced to Fan Wubing. In fact, Davis is not clear about this very professional problem, so a group of people followed Tian Zhenglun, watching and listening, like a fool.

Without Tian Zhenglun's introduction, everyone can also have a clear understanding of the subsequent process through their eyes. The workers were using machines to twist the optical cables, with the purpose of twisting the extruded optical fibers with the reinforcement to form a cable core.

After twisting, the worker uses loose fiber tubes or coated with UV acrylate and dyed fibers on the twisting machine to twist around the central strength element. For layered twisted optical cables, hot melt adhesive should be used before twisting, fixing the tubes to the central reinforcement element, and special fixing with bandaging tapes. For frame-type optical cables, when twisting, they should also be bandaged, and black PE plastic should be used to cover the first layer of sheath to fix the optical fibers into the V-shaped channel to prevent the optical fiber from moving to the back of the skeleton, causing the optical fiber to be stressed and increasing additional losses.

Finally, the outer sheath of the optical cable is extruded. The purpose is to add an outer sheath to the optical cable to meet the needs of engineering applications. The outer sheath must be filled with gel to prevent water from flowing into the cable core. On the extruded wire, print numbers of how many meters must be marked before collecting the wire to continuously record the length of the optical cable.

Because most of these operations are program-controlled, the workers' tasks are relatively light, mainly to monitor whether the process is normal, as well as the feeding of raw materials and the storage of finished products, etc.

"In fact, there is also a very important step, which is optical cable testing, which is also the last process in the optical cable production process. The purpose is to test whether the optical cable meets various design indicators, such as test loss, whether there is a broken fiber, and how bending. After passing the test, the finished optical cable can be provided to the user." Tian Zhenglun pointed to a workshop opposite and said to everyone, "The inspection process is there, but there is basically no ornamentality."

"There is no need to watch, but comfort is indispensable. Davis, your logistics support is also done in place. We must ensure that all workers can enjoy the benefits they deserve. It is important to know that the optical cable products we produce are currently produced by the best production lines in China. We don't have to be due to the operator's problems, but the quality of the products does not meet the international standards." Fan Wubing reminded Davis in every way.

"Don't worry, boss!" Davis shrugged and smiled, "I will never save you the money you should spend."

Fan Wubing nodded, indicating that he was quite satisfied with their current work.

"But, boss, I can't stay here for long. After all, Hengdian is at a critical moment and there is no need to lose money. I still need to go over and supervise it. It is a project with investment of hundreds of millions of dollars, which is much more complicated than that of Panshi." Davis stopped for a while and reminded Fan Wubing.

"Well." Fan Wubing agreed, "As long as the production here enters a normal state, you can go back to Hengdian. But why do I think your thoughts are not as simple as building a film and television city?"

Although the film and television city has a lot of investment, it is basically Chinese-style buildings, including the construction of various buildings in the Han, Wei, Jin, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and the Republic of China. To be honest, Davis, a foreigner, only supervised the use of funds, and he did not play any role in construction. However, Davis was so concerned about Hengdian that he could not help but make Fan Wubing feel strange.

"Boss, Davis's wife came to China last week and is now in Hengdian." An accompanying staff member broke the news.

"Oh, so that's it." Fan Wubing smiled and said, "Davis, you should bring your wife to the rock. I can invite her to eat her hometown dishes."

Davis said embarrassedly, "That would be very troublesome, but unfortunately there is no airport in the Rock, otherwise it would be much more convenient."

Airport? Fan Wubing nodded, thinking that this is a problem, and you can think carefully if you have time.

"Mr. Fan, it happens to be a production gap. Are you talking about something to everyone?" Tian Zhenglun asked.

Fan Wubing shook his head repeatedly and said, "I'm not good at speaking! I'll be spared!"

At that moment, Fan Wubing was not staying in the factory for too long. He walked out and saw that the open space opposite had been sorted into a small park with willows, bright pavilions and small fountains, and the scenery was really good.

"This place is good!" Fan Wubing walked to a huge stone under the pavilion, touched the cold big stone, and said to everyone, "Is this built later? I remember when I left the rock, there was no such thing."

"Oh, this small park was specially organized by Li Mingjiu to celebrate the anniversary of last year's factory construction. He also invited the leader to cut the ribbon and spent a lot of money. It aroused a lot of opposition in the factory. It was said that the factory was almost out of business, and he was still interested in doing this thing. He was really full!" Tian Zhenglun explained.

Everyone who visited the park was also very thoughtful. They all thought that although the park was well built, Li Mingjiu's choice was indeed not good. It increased the burden on the plain factory out of thin air and dragged down a good factory.

Fan Wubing patted the big stone and felt that it felt good, with mottled and colorful skin. He didn't know what kind of stone it was, so he asked curiously, "Li Mingjiu can really make trouble. Such a big stone was pulled back from the North Mountain? I think this piece weighs three or five tons, right? It's really a waste of money and doesn't do good things!"

Tian Zhenglun shook his head and said, "It's not the stones on the North Mountain. These are all stones pulled back from Yunnan. In order to transport the stones, he also used a special train to pull military products. Several carriages were pulled by this kind of stones. Look, aren't there such stones in the pool here?"

After Tian Zhenglun reminded him, Fan Wubing counted the stones in the pool. Such a large one had more than 40 or 50 pieces, and some were slightly smaller, weighing four or 500 kilograms.

The plain factory has a special train to Yunnan. Fan Wubing knows this. Doesn’t Yunnan have Dianchi Lake? Like Qinghai Lake, it is a good place to test torpedoes. It is superior to sea trials. Dianchi Lake is said to be 800 miles in radius. It is too large to be a depth of only eight meters, making it easy to salvage experimental products.

Li Mingjiu took this opportunity to pull the stone, which was considered to be a full use of resource advantages. If it were other factories, they would really not have the ability to do so.

However, why does this stone look a little weird?
