Chapter 6 Holy Library (Part 2)

Just as everyone expected, under the mountain, Curio, Barcelona and his new face, Anthony, raised the open letter board that was said to be Caesar, shouted a veto slogan, and rushed up the mountain road.

Although the ceremony was rudely interrupted, Pompey still politely invited the three civil servants to "what are they going to help Caesar get into legal loopholes." Then he humorously called the civil servants "the pangolins in the Germanic forest have become pets that drill holes for evil molecules."

Curio pressed down on his good friend Anthony's shoulder and signaled that I won't be eloquent now. It's your turn, Marco. I hope that your debate skills in Greece can fight back against Pompei's guy.

So, Anthony delivered his speech on the political stage for the first time. He was twenty-eight years old and the age he lied to when he ran for the civil servants was thirty-one. Now it was his turn to perform.

But when Anthony read Caesar's open letter next, he was in a business-related manner, which surprised Curio. His language was like reading the doctrine to the centurion and soldiers in a military camp, straight to the point without any delay. In this regard, he seemed to have the style of Caesar. In the book "The Battle of the Gallic" which Caesar sent back to Rome and compiled into the book, there was no ordinary whine or pretentiousness of the literati at the beginning, but directly wrote from "What we call Gaul is divided into three parts". No wonder Cicero shook his head when he saw it, but he had to admit that this was not a work of a literati, but was truly a work of a general and a soldier.

Anthony's letter was simplified into three: "First, I, Caesar, is the hero of the Republic. I defeated the Gauls and Germans and brought 300,000 slaves to the city of Rome; Second, now the Senate is manipulated by my political enemies, and passed a proposal that is unfair to me, and I demand justice; Third, I can compromise, but the political enemies must also respond to the conditions of reciprocity." As for who the political enemies are, what fairness means, Anthony did not say at all, and the implication was that all the veterans present, including the knights and the people who watched the ceremony understood.

After saying that, Anthony pulled out a blond-haired man, but wearing a robe, and told everyone, "This is the elder of the local Calium and the honorary member of the Roman Senate. Perhaps there are still people who don't know where Calium is, which was a new colony established by Caesar on the other side of the mountain, the fertile Gaul area. There are flowers and wheat fields everywhere, and we can colonize it. The other party can also come to Rome, so that Gaul will truly integrate into the Republic. This is what Caesar made to the Republic."

Then the blond-haired Gaul elder, although he was wearing a Toga robe like the Romans, was obviously not fluent enough in Latin, but his tone was very sincere. He said that this time was to petition Rome on behalf of All Gaul, meaning that the Gauls had now obtained Roman citizenship, and His Excellency Caesar was not led by rebels, and hoped that everyone would not be hostile to us and give peace to the whole country.

But the elder's stuttering speech was soon interrupted by the winks of Catholic. Marseilles and Scipio took action directly, clamoring that this was the ironclad evidence that Caesar colluded with the barbarians and prepared to invade Rome! Then they instructed the entourage to tie the sticks, which was like rain. In front of everyone, regardless of the efforts of the three civil guardians, they beat the blond-haired Gaul envoy and the elders to the ground and wail, shouting a Latin word, "injured", and repeatedly, probably meant to beg these arrogant little Roman veterans to forgive him for his bruises.

"This is not very good! Let your beloved traitor Caesar, to count your wounds, so that it may inspire his will to fight the beasts." Marseilles said proudly, and Scipio next to him added that there is a good reason for us to beat you, because Caesar, the governor of Gaul, has been declared a public enemy, so all his bills will lose their effect. You are not a Roman citizen at all, but a defeated slave. Isn't it natural for the master to beat the slave?

Anthony also got angry. He waved his letters and shouted that if some of the thieves in the Senate were more aggressive, he would go on behalf of all the ten civil guards to convene a full-scale Tebris meeting and read the vote in front of all the citizens. When many veterans began to hesitate again, Xiao Katu shouted, "Don't be fooled by Caesar again!" The whole scene began to be in chaos.

In the crowd, Cicero and Etius rushed out and shouted that everyone stopped. Then Cicero pointed at Anthony and roared, "Your behavior is simply adding fuel to the fire. If Caesar turns into Agamemnon and Roman city turns into Troy, then you are Helen who brings disaster to the country and the people, and Curio, you are Paris!" But then he said nothing to the little Gatu standing on the altar. "My friend, or I have

Friends of the scriptures, are there only two words "yes" and "no" left in your political world? Why can't we compromise? My proposal below is to let Caesar resign from the position of Gallic Governor, and then Gebinus will take over, but the Governor of Illyria is retained and he can register to run for the next year's consul. His army can only maintain one, because there are no external troubles in Illyria now, so will all disputes be eliminated invisible?"

But Cicero's pertinent opinion was not listened to by Pompey and Little Catu. If Pompey did not force Caesar to stop him, wouldn't the legitimacy of taking Dick's push? Little Caesar's plan was to first use Pompey, who was vanity but had no political ability to eliminate Caesar, and then force him to hand over military power and withdraw from politics. The republic will naturally be safe for thousands of years. Therefore, it is not the time to talk about taking gradual policy drugs, the arrow is on the string.

Therefore, in the midst of a quarrel and a fight, Cicero's opinions were completely ignored - and Anthony and the other three rushed to the Tebres assembly house without looking back.

At the meeting, Anthony reiterated the proposal that "Caesar should disband the legion at the same time as Pompeii, so that the republic can avoid danger" and urged all civilians to "live hope for peace, because the elders also thought so, and do not become Pompeii's cannon fodder at will."

All the people shouted for agreement and said that when the recruiter came to his home, all he should do was to scatter and ignore it.

This actually destroyed the possibility of Pompey recruiting troops in the city of Rome, leaving him without troops in the city in an emergency.

When Xiao Jiatu and others rushed to the clubhouse, Anthony and others had already slipped away and disappeared without a trace.
