Chapter 2 Anthony's Pleading (Part 2)

The cavalry commander arrived in Port Brindisi a month before the Goddess Day. Rome has fallen into a complete anarchy since Anthony left in shame. Whether it is a civilian who makes trouble or a veteran who asks for salary, they are inexplicably excited after hearing that Libidaus came, because they know that their rights and interests have been paid attention to, and the other party is Caesar's chief deputy. Now Anthony has fled in panic. As long as he insists on doing it, he has to force the dictator government to make concessions./

It is rare that the veterans also reached a friendly agreement with the mobs. After earnest and in-depth consultations, the two sides decided to use the Temple of the Goddess Belona as the deadline. The veterans were stationed in the Mars Colonel Field, the mob occupied the Temple of Jupiter on Capitole Mountain, the Maximus drainage ditch was a neutral buffer area, and Urabella became the temporary king of the entire city. Then the young man began to regret expelling Anthony, because now all the problems are pouring into him.

So Ulabella wrote a letter to Port Brindisi, asking his father-in-law Cicero to come back to handle political affairs, and openly requested Caesar to operate this matter so that Cicero could become the consul for the coming year. "In any case, your dictator's term has exceeded the boundaries, and it is time to consider changing the political model." When he spoke in the Grand Plaza, he appealed to the public.

But now Li Bi has reached Port Brindisi and happened to meet Cicero who was about to pack his luggage and return to the city. When Cicero heard that this person had arrived, he was so scared that he hid in his country house.

The cavalry commander did not meet with the orator, but he arranged manpower and gave many generous gifts to Cicero. Then he declared that the city of Rome was in a state of martial law. Internal and external traffic was strictly prohibited. This means that Cicero could not return.

In this way, Cicero was trapped in a state of retreat and could only stay in Brindisi, enjoying the gifts of the cavalry commander, and waiting for Caesar himself to arrive. After getting Urabella's foreign aid, Li Bida did not head towards Rome as expected, but continued to stay in the port city. This reaction was beyond the expectations of the veterans and the mob, and even Urabella became panicked.

Every day, all kinds of materials and soldiers gathered in the city. Within half a month, Li Bida allocated three hundred Talent funds, as well as four legions, twelve, thirteen, sixteen, and thirty-one, and came to Italy from the garrison of Asia Minor.

Could this one be using the Legion to open into the City of Seven Hills, like Sura or the former Anthony. Use violent forces to suppress us?

Before everyone could think about it, the four legions quickly divided into two groups. They drove all the way to Kofinium, and all the way to Pasini, twenty kilometers outside the city of Rome, sandwiching the city of Rome in the middle. As for the cavalry commander himself, they entered Capua. The nobles and elders in the city were at the first place, and they hurriedly sent representatives and secret envoys to Capua to express their loyalty to the cavalry commander.

"Then every elder and knight will pay a certain amount of money to support the dictator's war. Otherwise, the Ostia River Port will be closed and the food will not enter the city. You don't want your property to be burned and looted by hungry mobs, right?" Li Bida calculated and set the money to one thousand dinars per elder and three hundred dinars per knight, but the group of people still pestered Li Bida and requested to cash their annual national debt.

"The issue of repayment of national debts must be given a satisfactory answer in the spring, but the dictator is not in Rome, but still in Egypt. I must wait until Lord Julius arrives and ask him to make a judgment on some proposals." Li Bida's words not only gave hope to these people, but also made them as uneasy as an ant on a hot pan. The old knight named Bejanis couldn't help but ask the cavalry commander what Caesar was doing now!

The cavalry commander's answer was beyond everyone's expectations, "The dictator is now playing on the Nile with the Egyptian female pharaoh, which is also a kind of diplomatic activity. They are preparing to stop at the last waterfall, and then climb onto the land to travel together to the wastelands of Abyssinia (i.e. Ethiopia).

The entire living room was boiling, and there were worry, fear and even anger on the faces of the nobles and veterans. Even Sipingzel, Banks, Kota, and even Caesar's father-in-law Bisso, were all manifestations, especially Bisso, who obviously came up with the only and definite answer from the words of the cavalry commander: his bald son-in-law had betrayed his sacred marriage to his daughter.

However, Li Bida explained to the dictator, saying that Egypt was a barn for the city of Rome, and that the dictator did this to "dedicate himself to the country". When the grains mature in the coming year, all problems will be solved.

Having just sent away the elders and knights, the twelve representatives sent by Urabella also arrived. They stood outside the living room of the cavalry commander and were worried that the other party would say something to use force to resolve the riot, but they were also afraid that Li Bida would not argue and it would be difficult to explain to the civilians when he went back.

But unexpectedly, Li Bida met these people very cordially, and placed many pottery jars, treasures and spices on the long table and small table opposite. These representatives looked at the extremely dazzling things in front of them in surprise, not knowing what the cavalry commander was going to do.

"These are gifts to you. The dictator hopes that you can convince the people when you go back, let them dissolve automatically, and let them feel at ease for the time being. We will take appropriate measures and compensation for debt and rent issues." Li Bida said with a smile.

"This, this is really ridiculous. We are on behalf of the civil guards to negotiate, because Urabella cannot leave the city inside and outside Rome, but now your behavior is simply a naked insult, an insult to the people!" Several tough representatives temporarily stabilized their emotions and said in a defense to Li Bida.

"Matia, bring the slaves in and remove these insults to the people." Unexpectedly, Li Bida had no room for anything, and suddenly turned his back. Many slaves walked in and immediately carried away the table of goods. Then the cavalry commander turned around and turned his back to everyone, as if nothing had happened, without saying a word.

In the living room, there was only the pleasant sound of gold, silver and treasures being moved. The strange representative only remembered the complaint that Ulabella had confessed before leaving, and took it out. As a result, as soon as he read the first few words, he was roughly interrupted by Li Bida, "Don't read it anymore!"
