Chapter 70: Unique Motherboard

The highest level of management is to not manage personnel, and workers work voluntarily and consciously.

To do all this, we must have a complete reward and punishment system. There must be a standard for establishing a system, which is how much work a worker can do in a day.

As long as Wang Yong and Liu Meijuan carefully manage for a while, they can master some complete data.

Then, using these data, scientifically calculate the workload of each person, and in the future, you can formulate reward and punishment standards based on this workload.

There is also a system of accountability, which is best to determine the number of people and positions. For example, a quality inspector is best to have a quality inspection check. Don’t do two inspections and three inspections. Whose responsibility should be considered when you hold the accountable?

The second and third inspections can be done by the same person! She has a heavy responsibility and will do it seriously.

So as long as the system is formulated and the responsibilities are determined in place, there is actually no need for managers.

This is the reason why Wang Yong and Liu Meijuan are not recruiting production management personnel for the time being.

Of course, if the production capacity is expanded in the later stage and the number of personnel increases, management personnel will definitely be needed. This is also the reason why Wang Yong promised to promote management cadres from within his employees.

In fact, all management systems were formulated by Wang Yong and Liu Meijuan using the time after get off work and agreed upon by the two.

...

After a few days of busyness, the equipment was shipped back. Wang Yong didn't bother to learn more about the details with Guan Xueheng, so he was busy directing the workers to install the equipment.

Such as circuit board printing equipment, fully automatic chip machines, wave soldering machines, and reflow soldering machines, these highly automated equipment must be separated into a vacuum clean room with glass to ensure that the circuit board molding and electronic components are not contaminated when soldering.

After the equipment was installed, Wang Yong directed the workers to brush various identification areas with yellow and red paint.

Walking passages, production areas, finished product stacking areas, fee stacking areas, logistics channels, etc., standardize production order, which is actually part of 5S quality management.

Of course, there are more stringent noise management and vibration management, which have been written clearly in the production system for a long time.

For example, in the workshop, it is strictly forbidden to make loud noises, such as moving items, you must take them lightly.

Temperature management, because there is no central air conditioner installed for the time being, it cannot be done, so this can only be left to be solved in the future.

Fortunately, it is autumn now, the temperature is relatively cool, and there will be no problems for the time being.

After a few more days of busyness, the production preparations have been completed.

Wang Yong divided the fifty workers into two shifts, one shift was the production department. Because they were all mechanized, they did not need so many people, and they temporarily allocated twenty people.

The remaining thirty people were assigned to the computer assembly workshop, all of which were manual and not mechanized, so 30 people were arranged.

Among them, there are 10 quality inspectors, 15 production staff, and 5 logistics transport personnel.

The quality inspectors and production staff are almost 1:1, which shows how strict the quality requirements of Wang Yong and his wife are.

The assembly of computers is actually very fast. A skilled person can assemble one in less than ten minutes. The dolphin computer has not been sold to the public for the time being. In fact, this production and assembly speed is completely enough.

Wang Yong’s work is still the simplest, and Liu Meijuan’s work is the most difficult. When it comes to formal trial production, she has to participate in every process throughout.

For example, the printing of circuit boards includes computer motherboards, power management circuit boards, and external socket management circuit boards. Only she knows the design drawing data of several types of circuit boards. If she tries to produce them together, she will know whether they are qualified.

Then she had to teach quality inspectors and production workers step by step, because they all had to check whether it was correct.

Since there is a lot of data that needs to be input, she cannot make any mistakes. The speed is not fast. Just this process, one day will pass.

The next day is drilling, and the drawing data is also required. How many holes should be drilled? Where is the drilling?

There are many electronic components on the circuit board, all of which have pins, diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, etc.

For example, the Intel Pentium 75 processor has 775 pins. Fortunately, the chip does not require hole punching, and it is automatically soldered with a patch machine.

These pins need to be punched to be inserted, and the circuit board is a three-layer composite board. Some holes need to be punched through, and some holes only need to be punched halfway. The pins connect the circuit of the intermediate interlayer. It is very complicated. She is not a designer, or an ordinary electronic engineer, who can't even understand it.

Most of these electronic components are inserted manually, and each person only has two or three types of them. This requires Liu Meijuan to teach them step by step.

However, some electronic components do not have long pins. As long as you use a patch machine, it is directly bonded to the circuit board. For example, almost all chips are only suitable for welding to the motherboard with a patch machine.

So we first go through the process of the chipset, then manually plug in electronic components, and then use a wave solder to automatically weld.

This welding machine also requires Liu Meijuan to enter the drawing data before it can run.

Finally, when you go to the circuit board for inspection, you need to manually repair the welding where there is virtual welding and desoldering, and even change the welding data.

All of this was only when Liu Minjuan interned in a motherboard manufacturing factory in a later generation that she knew what to do, otherwise she would have only theory and would not do it.

The entire process was the most complicated and time-consuming. It took Liu Meijuan ten days to produce the first qualified computer motherboard.

This motherboard is not simple, it is a unique computer motherboard in the world. This is based on Liu Meijuan's knowledge of Intel Pentium chips, and has made a lot of targeted enhancements and security precautions.

For example, a Level 2 cache is added, and a DSP high-speed computing auxiliary module is added. This module mainly enhances game action calculations and has built-in many advanced algorithms that will appear in later generations.

In terms of graphics and sound processing, because she does not have her own chip, she can only buy the best graphics and sound cards today.

However, for future improvements, she made a plug-in design, leaving room for upgrades.

The most important thing is that Liu Meijuan also needs to design a BIOS management chip. It is actually a ROM chip, a read-only memory. Once set, the data cannot be changed.

BIOS chip is an industry-recognized standard for IBM's PC compatible computers. It is the main control brain on the motherboard. All external devices must be recognized by it. This is the reason why the computer is turned on and self-tested.

It is precisely because of this that dedicated computers like Dolphin Internet Cafe and company use can only develop data interfaces for certain devices, which can further improve the performance of peripheral devices and reduce the time for power-on self-test.

Because the performance of the public version interface is not as good as the performance optimized for a certain peripheral device.

For example, monitors and X-architecture keyboards, mice, floppy drives, optical drives, hard drives, etc. Because they are special equipment, there is no need to use the public version interface.

There is also the most important security management to prevent the Intel Pentium chip from transmitting data by backdoor vulnerabilities. All of this requires a special BIOS chip to be designed.

However, all this is not something that ordinary electronic engineers can understand. If it is people of this era, there may not be such engineers in China. These are the secrets that Western computer manufacturers do not pass on.

It’s just that later computer performance developed too fast, so many technologies of these old antique computers have been made public. Because there are such professional enthusiast forums in foreign countries to discuss these technologies, Liu Meijuan only knows this knowledge.

It can be said that this new motherboard designed by Liu Meijuan is definitely the motherboard with the best gaming performance and mapping performance in the world today. None of them can run any practical game in the world without lag, delay and other problems.

It is not possible to have a motherboard alone. It also requires a power management module, a computer external socket management module, a chassis case, X-frame keyboard and other self-developed parts.

There are a lot of these things, and it takes time to do it. Rome cannot be built in one day.
