Chapter 69: I'm Really Not an Expert [3/3]

At this time, the Tang Dynasty was filled with flowers and fire. From high-ranking officials to the people, it was a sign of happiness.

When Xuanzang entered Chang'an wearing a tattered monk's robe, he thought he was in the heavenly palace. He had always lived in a remote village and had never seen such a rich scene.

However, when Xuanzang was young, he suffered a serious illness and later survived by chance. However, since then his facial texture has no longer been controlled.

Although the ears, eyes, mouth and tongue are not affected, the whole face is like wood, and you can no longer laugh and scold.

Therefore, to outsiders, although Xuanzang was dressed in rags, he was not moved by prosperity and wealth at all. He was really arrogant.

At this time, in order to find the location of ordinary Zen monks, Emperor Tang sent his confidant eunuchs to secretly pay attention to the city gates everywhere in Chang'an.

As a wild monk who didn't even have a certificate of tribute, Xuanzang was just thinking about taking advantage of this opportunity to catch up with the situation and see if he could save some wife books.

However, when he entered the city, he was seen by the city gate monitor. He thought that this was a great monk and a great master, so he hurriedly reported to his superiors.

So Xuanzang was so confused that he was respectfully welcomed into Kaiyuan Temple by a group of soldiers and officials. He ate vegetarian food every day and was always offering berries.

At this time, countless eminent monks and great masters had already gathered in Kaiyuan Temple.

Although Xuanzang was like a beggar, he made the scholastic officials so respectful that he thought that he must have something extraordinary. Therefore, he became alert to him and kept his distance from him.

So a strange scene appeared in Kaiyuan Temple. As the eminent monks from all over the world continued to settle in, I wonder how many eminent monks and masters argued with each other every day.

Xuanzang was wearing a ragged monk's robe and was in a colorful cassock. The first one did not want to make trouble, and the later one did not know the details and did not dare to provoke them. So in the midst of the noise, Xuanzang was like an outsider and fell into purity.

However, Xuanzang knew in his heart that although he didn't know what misunderstandings were, he could not compare to these great monks with eloquence, so he became more and more taciturn.

Although the vegetarian food every day does not have any meat, it is as delicious as dragon liver and phoenix marrow, which makes him feel that even a fairy life is just like this.

However, the Water and Land Dharma Assembly has not been opened for a long time, and Xuanzang became more and more guilty when he lived in Kaiyuan Temple. He had never received such treatment since his birth.

On that day, he looked at the little novice monk who was cleaning in the yard and felt aroused, so he asked the novice monk to put down the sweeping tool and drove him away.

I saw that he couldn't wait to clean the courtyard, and then he took the tools to stroll in the temple. As long as a monk preached, he would sweep the side with a broom.

He thought to curry favor with these monks first, and if he reveals his feelings in the future, he would also ask them to plead for him.

Xuanzang was thinking well, but in the eyes of other monks, he always came to sweep the floor with expressionless expression when he was preaching his own scriptures. This was obviously another intention!

Although I don’t know what he is trying to do, I’m not really here to sweep the floor, right?

So whenever Xuanzang appeared under the stage without expression, the monks on the stage couldn't help but feel alert and became more solemn and serious.

After a while, many monks who listened to the sermons on the stage gradually discovered clues. Seeing the eminent monks and masters so closely guarded the monk, countless thoughts came to mind, and they were extremely respectful when they met in the temple!

This made Xuanzang feel more helpless. He had already put his posture so low, but these monks regarded him more and more as a master. He could no longer imagine what would happen if things were exposed in the future!

As the capital of the Tang Dynasty, Chang'an likes to show off his experiences, whether it is a high-ranking official or a peddler or a peddler. Therefore, not long after, the name of the monk who swept the floor in Kaiyuan Temple spread widely.

For a moment, those who have a way naturally couldn't help but sigh. People who have no conditions could only rely on their own words to show their ability.

Amid the sensation, even the Emperor Tang Li Longji in Tai Chi Palace was alarmed, so he invited eunuchs to inquire.

As the confidant of Emperor Tang, Gao Lishi naturally knew about this matter. He said in admiration:

"That Master Xuanzang is really a great master. He eats simple food every day like a sweet rain. He doesn't want to serve the servants, but he does it himself. While sitting and walking, he shows his achievements in returning to the essence of Buddhism!"

Emperor Tang couldn't help but look a little surprised and said, "Then what kind of Buddha is this person practicing? Have you ever found out clearly?"

Gao Lishi couldn't help but say helplessly: "This great master often preaches in the temple and listens with the side. However, no one can talk to him, so the old slaves have not yet found out the news."

Emperor Tang couldn't help frowning when he heard this. He thought for a while and said in a deep voice: "Half a month later, when the water and land Dharma Assembly was launched, I asked this great monk to come on stage to preach!

If he is indeed a great monk, as long as he can eliminate the evil in my heart, I can regard him as the national teacher and enjoy the luck of the world!"

Gao Lishi realized that the emperor was really unable to wait. Since he could not find the true Zen teachings, as long as other Buddhist masters could cure him, he would not care much!

Time flies, and soon Chang'an City is in a state of excitement. Looking towards the civil and military officials, all the old and young officials, they all went to the bottom of Hanshan, north of the city, and listened to the monks from all over the world ascended the altar to preach. Xuanzang was now mingling among the monks below the stage, very low-key, afraid of being noticed.

But he was afraid of whatever he was. When the Three-day Water and Land Dharma Assembly reached its final climax, the Tang Emperor, who had been watching, saw Xuanzang listening to the sermon indifferently. Although he admired his indifferent nature, he couldn't help feeling helpless.

He had already sent a command to continue. As long as Xuanzang was willing, he would not have to go to the stage to preach as many tests as other monks.

But seeing that the water and land Dharma assembly was almost over, Xuanzang was still indifferent. This made Emperor Tang really believe that he was really indifferent to fame and fortune.

So after a while, many people who were listening could not help but be surprised to see that a team of palace guards even respectfully invited a monk in ragged clothes among the novice monks below.

Everyone was confused and couldn't help but talk. At this time, there was naturally a person who knew the goods showing off his knowledge and pointed at the monk who was very courteous and said:

"That is the sweeping monk in Kaiyuan Temple. His Buddhist attainments are very profound. I heard that he was the reincarnation of a true Buddha, and all the great monks in Kaiyuan Temple respect him!"

Not to mention how the people below were amazed, Xuanzang looked at the Gao Lishi who was very respectful in front of him, and couldn't help but shout helplessly: "I am really not a master!"

Looking at the anticipated eyes of the novice monks, Emperor Tang also nodded slightly to him in the distance. Xuanzang really couldn't understand why things had developed to this point?
