Chapter 166: Beneficiaries of the Deepening of the Cold War(2/2)

Although the aircraft engine is provided by the US, the progress of domestic production is accelerating.

It is expected that in 1993 and 1994, domestic engines will be replaced without being controlled by others.

In terms of the body, the design was actually redesigned, and the advanced aerodynamic shape of the f16 was more referenced. Therefore, with the change of appearance, the original Super Seven code number was also more like the new Fc-1, becoming a new fighter redesigned.

Overall, this fighter is between the second generation evaluated by the Western fighter jet and the third generation currently in use, and is a second-generation and a half-generation fighter jet.

The company has made great contributions to being able to successfully renovate so quickly.

It is precisely because the subsidiary of Universal Company, Universal Precision Instrument Manufacturing Company, has continuously provided the latest high-precision instruments and equipment to the development units of FC-1. Universal Company's strong technical support for development has continuously transferred a large number of international mature technologies. This fighter was finally developed after four years and ten months.

What attracts international customers the most is its super low price.

The FC-1 equipped with a US-made engine is exported at a price of 10 million US dollars. By the time the domestic engine is developed, the price is expected to be reduced to around one million US dollars.

This price is quite attractive to third-world countries that are relatively economically traded.

The temporary end of the Gulf War is not only a specific manifestation of another US-Soviet battle, but also the rapid decline of the Soviet MiG fighter jets. Although the Su-27 emerged, especially during the final ground war, several Iraqi Su-27s shot down and injured several Western fighters, which restored some reputation for Soviet-made weapons.

The problem is that when the Su-27 was a heavy fighter, it had a F16 without temper, and everyone did not agree with it: the Su-27 price can be as high as 30 million US dollars, while the F6 is only 20 million US dollars!

At this time, the FC-1 launched by China immediately attracted the attention of international buyers. It was extremely cheap, with good combat capabilities, and the data link enhanced the battlefield survivability. Pakistan immediately stated that it would first buy 100 aircraft and asked China to replace it with Western radar systems.

Other countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka, Iran, Egypt, etc. all expressed their strong interest and sent delegations to China for inspection.

In early 1993, the new model Fc-1, which was officially qualitative and mass-produced, stepped down from the production line; in 1994, the Fc-1, which was replaced with domestic engines, soared in the sky.

It has been exported to more than 40 countries, and has won wide recognition from international customers for its low price and high cost performance.

By two thousand years, FC-1 had been exported to thousands. While earning a large amount of foreign exchange for the country, it also designed and produced Chinese fighter jets and accumulated rich experience.

When the FC-1 was lifted off, it immediately commissioned by the General Equipment Department to start designing China's next-generation fighter jets.

As the Cold War continued to deepen, China's military industry began to recover and developed rapidly.
