Chapter 112 The Monk Asks (Ask for a Monthly Pass)
The Miaose realm is so brilliant that it can be seen that Ji Liao practiced the thunder sound of the tiger and leopard to the core. However, after Ji Liao pronounced it, his body did not change much.
He frowned and thought for a while, and said, "Your situation is very special now. If you follow me to see my senior brother, he might have a way to help you."
The only one who can be the master of the Dharma that can afford Senior Brother Miaose is the one who can do it.
Since the passing of Qingyu Immortal, if anyone can be regarded as the number one cultivator in the world, I am afraid that only the Dharma Lord will be the Dharma Lord. Ji Liao is of course curious about this eminent monk. Since Miaose is willing to take him to see the Dharma Lord, Ji Liao will follow him happily.
Then Miselea took Ji Liao to the holy place that most monks in the world yearn for, the Sutra Library of Nalanda Temple.
There are as many as nine million volumes of scriptures in the Sutra Pavilion, and even the most important scripture in the world, the wordless scripture is placed in the Sutra Pavilion. But no one has ever had the idea of the wordless scripture, because the Sutra Pavilion not only has soul thoughts left by countless monks, but also a Dharma master stays here all year round.
Even a peerless monk who ascended to immortality and broke into the void may not be able to come and go freely in the Sutra Pavilion.
However, Nalanda Temple never regarded the Sutra Library as a forbidden place that others cannot access. Throughout history, many experts have visited the Sutra Library, read the precious books in it, and left their own things.
Otherwise, the birth of up to nine million volumes of scriptures would be absolutely not enough to rely on the hard work of monks in Nalanda Temple.
After Ji Liao entered the Sutra Pavilion, his first feeling was that he developed a divine awe. This was not awe of people, but awe of wisdom.
There are three levels in the Sutra Pavilion. The first layer is placed with classics, the second layer is magical powers, and the third layer is only one book, the wordless scripture.
The master of Dharma is on the first floor all year round.
When Ji Liao and Miaose went to see him, he was reciting a Buddhist scripture.
People like him should be very familiar with any Buddhist scriptures. But he still recited them seriously and meticulously.
They are like dull old scholars, more like the masters of Nalanda Temple, who are famous all over the world.
There are no Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the world. If there are, only this Dharma Master can afford it.
But his attitude of chanting scriptures is no different from a young monk who has just learned about Buddhism.
Ji Liao could see that he was from the bottom of his heart.
The wonderful nature is arrogant to treat Buddhism because it has its own Buddhism.
The Dharma Lord respects Buddhism because Buddhism deserves his awe.
These are two different people, but they have achieved great success.
A volume of scriptures was not long, and the Master of the Dharma did not ask Ji Liao to wait too long, and soon finished reciting the Buddhist scriptures. He smiled and signaled Ji Liao to sit down and talk. So he sat down casually in the sea of books.
The fragrance of books around it makes people feel more peaceful than any spice.
Miaose first told the Dharma Master about Ji Liao’s situation.
The Master of Dharma nodded gently and asked, "Fellow Taoist Mu Zhenzi, the old monk wanted to ask you some questions before this."
Ji Liao said: "Master, please ask."
The Dharma Master said: "What are you practicing for?"
Ji Liao thought for a moment and said, "It should be to be able to do what he wants."
The Master of Dharma smiled and said, "I am afraid that even the true sacred immortals and Buddhas will not be able to achieve all their wishes."
Ji Liao said: "But the higher the practice, the more things you can accomplish. I don't seek perfection, I just want perfection."
After he finished speaking, he smiled and said, "Is this idea too cheesy?"
The Master of Dharma said: "What fellow Taoist said is actually very reasonable. What you seek is to make your thoughts clear. If everything you want, you will naturally have no stagnation and all your wishes will be fulfilled. This is the highest state of Buddhism without desires or desires."
Ji Liao said: "This is the first time I have heard of the Dharma Lord's explanation of no desires and no desires."
The Master of Dharma smiled and said, "Everyone has their own understanding of the practice. As long as the kings and farmers have a heart for the Tao, they can sit together and discuss the Tao. If there is no desire for the same and the differences, the Landata Temple will not be the Landata Temple."
As soon as he said this, Ji Liao felt confused.
If Nalanda Temple had the purpose of seeking common ground while reserving differences, why did it break with Bodhitara?
But the matter of Bodhidharma cannot be explained, so Ji Liao did not ask.
He said, "The Dharma Master is highly insightful, and I have received the teachings."
The Master of Dharma smiled and said, "There is another last question. I wonder what my friends think about Buddhism and Taoism?"
This is a big proposition, but it can reflect many things.
Ji Liao thought for a while before saying, "I think the Taoist sect is as vast as a sea of smoke, but its core is only four words."
Miaose continued: "Is it 'Tao follows nature'?"
Ji Liao smiled and said, "These four words are also brilliant enough, but they are too broad. I think they should be 'the highest good is like water'."
Miaose said: "How to explain it?"
He is open-minded and does not feel ashamed to ask questions.
Ji Liao said: "Water is colorless and tasteless. If it is square, it is square, and if it is round, it is round. The so-called "no stagnation and no obstacles" is like this. Moreover, the nature of water is the best and soft, and it is continuous and dense. If it is subtle, it is silent and breathless; if it is grand, it is surging. It does not compete with all things but accommodates all things, but does not conflict with sentient beings. If a monk has obtained the best way of water, I think no one can compete with him."
The Master of Dharma said: "The words of fellow Taoists are thought-provoking, so what about the Buddhist teachings?"
Ji Liao smiled and said, "I don't read much Buddhist scriptures, so I'm afraid I don't express my views deeply enough, and I'm afraid I'll make you laugh. Therefore, I don't want to talk about the way of Buddhism, but I want to talk about the way of Master of Dharma and Master Miaose. Both of them are the best monks and masters in the world. I guess I won't blame me for judging myself."
Naturally, he could not let the Master of Dharma answer with his nose.
The Master of Dharma disregarded himself and said, "Then you talk about the old monk first, and then the wonderful colors."
Ji Liao smiled and said, "I'll talk about Master Miaose first."
Miaose also smiled and said, "Tell me quickly."
Ji Liao said: "The stick hits the ten directions of the world and blows the sky gate with your mouth. I think it is the way of Master Miaose."
Miaose said: "This metaphor is very domineering, but I am not so arrogant."
Ji Liao said again: "Then I will add a few more words, stirring up the East Ocean Sea with one hand and kicking Mount Sumeru."
Miaose smiled and said, "The difference is even further."
The Master of Dharma said, "I see what the fellow Taoist said is very accurate. Junior Brother Miaose, he said that you have no prejudice and it has its own reason."
Miaose said, "If you say this, it's like this, then you should speak quickly to the Lord."
Ji Liao pondered for a moment and said, "Master, I am not sure. There are only two Buddhist verses I have seen by chance. It seems that I can barely describe one or two. Otherwise, I will tell you which one is more appropriate to see."
The Master of Dharma smiled and said, "Just say it, the old monk listens with politeness."
Ji Liao chanted in a silence: "The first poem: Bodhi has no trees, and a mirror is not a platform; there is nothing originally, so where can dust be caused?"
Miaose clapped her hands and said, "Miaomiaomiao."
Ji Liao continued to chant: "The second poem: The body is a Bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror; wipe it frequently and do not cause dust."
Miaose said: "But it's not as good as the first song."
